### 2/5 — iOS app continually crashes…

*2021-09-19*

I have had the desktop app for close to 12 years and I love it… that said the iOS app has its problems…

1. Currently it crashes multiple times (read a dozen at least) every time I try to log an expenditure… I messaged support and have received no response. It happens to both my phone and my wife’s phone, I had an iPhone 6s and upgraded to 12 mini and it crashes all the same.

2. The wifi sync works fine it just would be nice if there were a server/iCloud type option.

### 3/5 — Needs updated

*2018-08-01*

This app could use a graphical update to take advantage of the iPhone X. It’s been over three years since the last update. Love to see an option to make the font size smaller. The app works fine but I think the developers have either all died or quit their jobs. So much for free updates for life. LOL

### 3/5 — Love the desktop version but needs a little ore

*2017-08-09*

I have been using the desktop version of Budget for a few years now. I really love the program but the major downfall of this app is that you can't sync between devices unless you have the program open and are hooked up to wifi. I admit I don't use this app as much as I probably should but the fact is that when I am out and about and I spend money from one category and my husband spends money from that same category, there is no way to sync that envelope. Every month I have to make major adjustments to my envelopes because we overspent in different categories. I am not at my desktop every day and usually only balance my desktop budget about every two weeks. I started using another budgeting app (YNAB) that syncs between devices in real-time, but the features in that other program seem elementary compared to the Budget desktop version. I would definitely give it 5+ stars if there was a way to sync between my phone and my husband's phone.

### 2/5 — Needs Better Editing Features

*2015-06-09*

I actually like the layout and the whole envelope idea. The reason I only give it 2 stars is because it is really hard to change the set up once you start. I used it about a week, but then I changed jobs and didn't need certain envelopes. I tried to delete some envelopes and it wouldn't let me. I tried to delete the account and just start over and I couldn't do that either. So now I have an unused app that I spent good money on that I essentially can't use. I've heard from customer service, but they told me to just trash the data file, which it isn't allowing me to do.

### 2/5 — Okay

*2014-10-08, version 1.6.3*

Update: They supposedly updated this on Oct. 8, 2014? Still will not sync with desktop. Useless currently. Still hoping they fix but the longer it takes the more likely it is I will have found something else to use.

Currently the iPhone app will not sync with the desktop app on iOS 8. When that is fixed this is a 3 1/2 star app. It is kinda unwieldy unlike the desktop app which is easy to use. With sync currently broken this is useless. Hopefully they fix it soon.

### 2/5 — Not worth it

*2014-08-31, version 1.6.2*

I love the desktop version of this software, but the iPhone version is hard to use and not intuitive like the other version. I wouldn't recommend it.

### 4/5 — Pretty useful

*2013-11-20, version 1.6.2*

I have tried some of the other budgeting apps, and this one provides the best functionality. It has a good envelope implementation, especially when paired off with the desktop app. The biggest issue is synchronization. It is a pain if you need to sync multiple devices since you need to sync through the desktop app. It is especially annoying that the transactions are not editable on the iOS devices after synching.

### 2/5 — does not work after update

*2013-10-20, version 1.6.1*

Updated to 1.6.1 and the app will no longer sync with the desktop version which makes it useless to use either one for me. Even when the sync worked, it required both applications to be open and required clicking options on each one to get them to sync. How 1990's! I decided to use "Money with sync" instead. It is seamless. I don't even have to think about it.

### 4/5 — Intuitive and Smart

*2013-10-15, version 1.6.1*

I have been using this on Macs for years, and was happy to have a pocketable version of the app for when I'm on the go. I plug in all my expenses and know in an instant if I'm overspending, and know to the penny at the end of each pay period, how much to put away. Syncs well without any hitches. Sad it took over a year for 4" iPhone screen support bit was happy to see that now. I recommend for anyone looking to track their expenses in an easy to use app.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2013-03-17, version 1.6*

I wish it has a bank register like the desktop version but still a very good app.

### 4/5 — Easy/great budget tool

*2013-02-12*

Takes a little bit if time to get used to, but so does most budget software. I will say for me the App works the best on the iPad and my computer.

Once you get the hang of it works great as a budget tool. I've been using it for the past three years. I have it on my iPhone, iPad and Mac laptop. Syncs to all three devices. It has really helped us get control of our finances.

Having to pay for add ons is a bit if a bummer, but the add ons are cheap, so it's not that big if a deal. I wouldn't recommend using budget touch on your iPhone as the primary tool, but it works great in conjunction with budget on the computer. Would work fine as a primary tool on the iPad.

### 1/5 — Crashes way too often

*2020-09-01*

Given that this is a paid app, and given that I paid for it in order to keep track of my budget when I’m away from my computer, I shouldn’t have to be constantly fighting to get it to sync. It crashes way too often, and requests for help from Snowmint are completely ignored.

### 1/5 — App needs fixes

*2019-12-25*

I love this app and have been using it for years. But there’s been a relatively recent update that has introduced some problems. The app crashes all the time now. Never had that problem before. A friend who also uses this app is having the same problem. I’m on iPhone 10 running latest IOS. Also, the bottom envelope now drops below the screen view, and you can’t open it without a lot of tries, because it’s mostly off the screen and can’t be selected. Another problem is on the actions screen the top most selection is now right up against the iPhone’s black space, difficult to select. Please please fix this app! It’s a 5-star app that has suddenly developed serious problems.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work Now

*2019-10-18*

Great, super product and would highly recommend it, that is up until iOS 13. Now once loaded, selecting anything, envelope, help, new... or anything at all. ... crashes the app. Update promised.. but when?

### 1/5 — Disappointing update

*2014-10-16, version 1.6.3*

I'm terribly dissatisfied with the update. I rarely used the desktop version. I tracked everything on this app and have been using it for several years. The update doesn't allow me to see all transactions per account. Before I could tap the icon to the right of the specific account on the account page & see all transactions. I could also make a "payment" to another account from this location allowing for a split transaction. Now I'm not sure how to transfer from one account to another. The option isn't even offered in the specific envelopes. Only transferring between envelopes is an option. Your update has just removed a major function of the app. I want what I paid for!! I want to be able to track ALL transactions without having to do double entries. Please fix these issues!!

### 1/5 — Awful

*2014-06-24, version 1.6.2*

Not easy to use for simple tracking of finances. Just not easy! Waste of money!

### 1/5 — Not Worth a Dime

*2014-01-27, version 1.6.2*

The app is severely limited. The directions for the app are misleading. This app is not worth $5.99. Don't waste your money.

### 1/5 — bigfamilyneedshelp

*2013-02-02, version 1.6*

I hate this app!!!! I really thought it would be helpful but I can't even get it to open. What a waste!!!!!

### 1/5 — Useless app, short features, long on scam!

*2012-12-17, version 1.6*

Just getting started seems to be sketchy. I'm guessing you have to buy the add on's to make it work properly. I'm trading emails with their CS who does seem responsive. I'm editing this down to 1 star. After more communication with their CS it's still a little shaky during operation plus the real scam here is that you have to purchase add ons for simple stuff like recurring bills. Any budget app that doesn't come with the ability to enter monthly items like car payments is a scam. Stay away from this one.

### 1/5 — Buyer beware

*2012-10-31, version 1.6*

This app is a scam. It requires you to buy an additional add on just to be able to use it. The ability to record income sources and then transact them to the envelopes cost extra. It is like buying a car and them being told the engine is extra. Should be removed from the AppStore. Stay far away. The one good rating it received must have been from the developer.

### 1/5 — Do your research.

*2012-02-15, version 1.5*

I did not like this app. It was a waste of money. The what I put in the iphone does not automatically show on the ipad like some of the other apps I have tried. You have to pay extra for some of the necessary functions. I ended up spending $8 just for the app and this morning I deleted it. The desktop for mac is $40.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Does what is supposed to do.

*2019-01-09*

Works fine!!

### 5/5 — No subscription! I just works!

*2018-05-18*

I’ve been using this budget app for years and it works.
The envelope method is a proven system whether it’s “real” envelopes or the electronic kind.
I use both the macOS and the iOS versions and keep them in sync. Either version stand alone is great but I prefer planning at the desktop and keeping up to date on the road with the iPhone.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-06-13*

Please add Touch ID to make it awesome!

### 5/5 — Outstanding app

*2016-05-12*

I've been using this app for almost two years. We do a monthly budget every month, and this app enables us to manage our money within the budget. I used various excel spreadsheets and tried several other apps before settling on this one. It does everything we need for it to do. It is customizable, and it syncs between our desktop, laptop and iPads. We have been following the Dave Ramsey plan for over four years, and this app has been very instrumental in helping us reach our goals. I've never written an app review before, but this app is truly outstanding. Love, love, love it!

Edited 05/16: I have now gone from Windows to Mac version. The Mac version required a little time to learn, but it is even better than the Windows version which I thought was awesome. Now set up with three bank accounts, and it works great. I have contacted support a few times during the transition, and the support is wonderful.

### 5/5 — The app is amazing and support is even better

*2015-05-19*

I use Budget Touch and Budget for Mac. Both apps are wonderful to use and great budgeting tools. The support from the developers is even better and is second-to-none. From bug fixes to feature requests they are always quick to respond and super-helpful! You should buy this app and use the envelope method for budgeting!!!!!

### 5/5 — Fantastic App!

*2015-01-10*

I use Budget on my Mac and Budget Touch on my iPhone and iPad. And have been using the Mac version for many years. I was very excited when Budget Touch, for the iPhone and iPad hit the App Store. It syncs very well between my Mac and devices. I really like the envelope method for budgeting and it fits my needs to a “T”. A few of my favorite features are the physical layout, the ability to sync and I like being able to change amounts so easily. I’ve had to contact support at Snowmint about a couple of problems I experienced. The replies were fast and the solutions effective. I give their support an “A+”! I also use Quicken which is excellent for managing my funds. But for maintaining a budget with the flexibility I need Budget has been my “go to”app. I couldn’t imagine getting along without it!

### 5/5 — GW (UK)

*2014-02-23*

Tried most of the budget apps going, this is surely the best. Income goes into predefined envelopes, so you know exactly what you can spend. There is a desktop version which you can perfectly sync with your Ipad. Excellent response from developers from email. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Budget Touch

*2012-12-12*

I have found this to be a great way to put money aside each week to be able to save for large bills. Ap works well.

### 5/5 — Love

*2012-11-17, version 1.6*

This app is the perfect companion to the desktop version. There are add-on features for an additional cost, but are not needed if this is used as a companion or mobile app. Perfect!

### 5/5 — Love it great app...

*2012-10-28*

When I saw my desktop budget transferred (pushed) to my iPhone and saw the envelopes on the screen (it was easy), I realized it'll change the way I've been spending all my life, by guesswork! I'll always know how much is allocated and available in my checking account with budget touch. It's well worth the peace of mind and I downloaded the add ons for enhanced features. Its all good. The Devs make a great team I've I've been using budget Mac for years. They've incorporated several enhancements I recommended and are working hard to improve budget for windows and budget touch. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next release of budget windows and budget touch. Keep those updates coming!
