BudgetBot is a personal budgeting app for iPhone built around real life — real receipts, real brands, and a budget that knows what you actually bought. What it does: • Receipt capture — point the camera at a receipt and the AI pulls out merchant, amount, date and line items. PDFs, the share sheet and the photo library all work. • Real brand logos — every subscription and merchant row shows the brand's real icon, not a generic glyph. Over 100 brands across streaming, telecom, grocery, fast food, retail, transport and more. • Savings goals with finish-line rewards — set a goal (Japan trip, house deposit, wedding fund) and lock in your celebration up front. Champagne, dinner, flowers, spa day, weekend away — your call. • Daily Roast — a daily one-card review of your spending and saving that doesn't pull punches. Sometimes praise, mostly side-eye. • Hindsight ratings — score past purchases 1–5 in a swipe game so analytics surface what was actually worth it. • Hall of Shame — your worst purchases, ranked and tagged. With apology emoji. • Smart insights — needs vs wants, subscription pile-up alerts, monthly spend vs budget, counterfactual "what could've been" comparisons. Privacy: • No analytics. No tracking. No third-party SDKs. No ads. • Your data lives on your device and, if you turn iCloud sync on, in your own iCloud. We run no servers. • AI features use your own Anthropic API key — we never see your data. • Sign in with Apple is the primary auth. BudgetBot isn't your bank. The AI pulls out the merchant, items, amount, date and how you paid. • Voice-to-text for quick entry, with an offline retry if the connection drops. • Needs vs wants is clearer: spend that can't be classified is now shown, with a one-tap fix. • More accurate receipt dates and per-item categories. • All your API keys are managed in one place. ### 1.2.0 — 2026-06-24 New: Quick add. No receipt? Type or say it — “Haircut €30”, “2 coffees €13” — and BudgetBot adds it. Multiple items split into individual, editable lines. New: Dictation your way. On-device by default (free, private, offline). Settings → Dictation lets you switch to OpenAI Whisper or Google Gemini with your own key, pick a language, and more. Better: the “ready to review” banner on Capture now opens the reviewer directly — no detour through Notifications. ### 1.1.0 — 2026-06-22 New: Itemise a charge. No receipt? Open any expense and tap Itemise — describe what you bought ("two lighters") and the AI breaks the total into line items, or add them by hand. Everything's editable before you save, and anything left over becomes a tidy "Unaccounted" line.
