### 1/5 — Worst update ever

*2026-06-11*

Made the app unsearchable with this last update, bring back the old filter menu not the slide across

**Developer response:** Sorry for the post launch bugs. We’re getting through them quickly. Please download latest update 16.3.8, it helps a lot. 16.3.9 coming in a few days.

Email me support@budwatcher.com if you want a test flight build so you can see/use the latest version. That’s an option as well.

### 1/5 — iOS26 only

*2026-06-09*

I pay for this app and you’re really going to lock me out by only supporting the latest version of iOS? Lazy and ridiculous

**Developer response:** Sorry, that was a mistake we fixed today. Please check for the new update in the App Store; v16.3.8 will work for you.

### 1/5 — Bring back web

*2026-06-03*

Bring back web version. Forcing people into an app is a kind of a d!ck move

**Developer response:** Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. Being app-based allows our users to save their watchlists, favorites, and more without needing to give us any information like email, name, etc. It's perfectly anonymous, and that can't be accomplished on the web.

A new version of iOS is about to launch. It’s free. I'd encourage you to try it.

### 1/5 — Impossible to cancel

*2026-03-23*

No way to cancel. Dark pattern.

**Developer response:** Head to your iOS subscriptions center (settings menu of your phone) and cancel. Or use the free version. There were no intentional dark patterns here, just development from a small team that's adding features as fast as they can.

The next version of the app will have the subscription center linked from the settings menu inside the app. Thanks for your feedback.

### 1/5 — Over monetization

*2026-03-02*

No need to charge a subscription. Just a nickel and dime

**Developer response:** There’s a free version of the app that you might have overlooked.

The subscription is optional and provides additional features that users seems to love. The app is entirely funded by subscriptions, this is intentional to ensure that BudWatcher remains focused on serving its users over anyone else.

I hope this explanation clarifies things. Thanks for trying the app.

### 4/5 — Great app, could use a couple more filters

*2024-11-20*

Overall incredibly pleased with this app and at the value of the subscription. Would love to see the ability to set a minimum value filter for total terpenes/cannabinoids as a lot of smart dispo buying is finding the sweet spot between affordable and high potency.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the great feedback. The next version is a major update and does let you set min and max for any lab result data point. Should be out and available for download in the next few days.

### 4/5 — Could be better

*2024-06-27*

Before you buy the premium version, you are told you can leave feedback for the next update but theres no option to do so. Second the thc percents are off. The percentage is different on the dispensarys site…. Other than that its pretty convinient imo worth the price

### 1/5 — No good

*2024-03-11*

This app charged me $10.65 and I didn’t even download it!!!!

### 1/5 — App continuously going downhill…

*2024-03-02*

The app was great at first but the devs keep updating the app to push everyone towards paying for it.
You can barely use any of the filters without paying for the service now, moving to a different app.

**Developer response:** Hi Daniel, we appreciate your honesty. It’s tough to balance development and user expectations. I’d like to hear more about your experience and see how we can make it better. Reach out at support@budwatcher.com.

### 1/5 — Charging the wrong people

*2024-03-01*

Kinda goofy to charge people for features that Leafly, Weedmaps, and iHeartJane already have standard. Instead of charging consumers, you should consider charging retailers to have their products or their sales featured. Not only would that be more profitable but you’ll also get more users by giving away the app for free. Just a thought.

**Developer response:** Hey there, I get where you’re coming from. We’re constantly working to balance providing a top-notch service with the realities of running an app. Your perspective is noted. If there’s more you’d like to share, I’d welcome the discussion. Contact us at support@budwatcher.com

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 16.3.9 — 2026-06-25

- A bug in the alerts system was fixed that caused the nearby filter to be ignored, resulting in users getting watchlist alerts from any distance away.
- The "Browse" section automatically saves your filter settings until you change them again for Budwatcher Pro subscribers.
- Smarter strain search that handles typos, and one-tap filtering to a region like South Jersey.
- Cleaner feed cards that lead with what you sorted by and show how many stores carry each product.
- Faster and more stable, including launch and filter crash fixes and a fix for the iOS 18 picker freeze.
- The nearby filter shows a new option to anchor to zip if you prefer that over location-based.
- Customer support chat added for BudWatcher Pro subscribers, no email or phone required.
- The watchlists tabs have been consolidated into a single tab w/ search. Helps when you have a large number of watchlists saved.

• Now supports iOS 18 and newer, so older iPhones are welcome back
• Choose how dispensary menus open: our built-in browser with tabs and preorder autofill, or Safari, Chrome, and DuckDuckGo
• Set a zip code and the app respects it everywhere: distances, the Nearby radius filter, and the map now work without sharing your location
• The strain filter opens instantly and search is buttery smooth
• Select unlimited brands in the brand filter (previously capped at 50)
• Cleaner filter bar with easier sorting and a one-tap way to save your filters as a watchlist
• Plus dozens of fixes and visual refinements throughout
