## What is Buford?

Buford is the live event map for art and craft festivals. Whether you're an artist setting up your booth, an organizer running the show, or an art lover finding your favorite makers — Buford connects everyone in real time.

FOR ARTISTS
Check in when you arrive and your booth appears instantly on the live event map. Share your exact location with collectors, friends, and family with one tap. See who else is checked in, discover fellow artists in your medium, and build your network show after show. Your booth stays visible until midnight on your last day — even when you step away.

FOR EVENT ORGANIZERS
Drop map pins for everything your artists and attendees need to find — load-in zones, parking, restrooms, food, first aid, road closures, and more. Send instant announcements to every checked-in artist in seconds. Manage your entire event from one dashboard.

FOR ART LOVERS
Browse the artist directory and filter by medium. Get walking directions straight to any artist's booth. Patrons with mobility needs can find the closest route to any booth. Favorite artists to stay connected between shows.

I'm a working artist, not a corporation — I built this to help build and foster the artist community.  I was also tired of missing friends at shows. I have beta users but if you find something broken, please message me before leaving a review so I can fix it. I’d genuinely rather hear from you directly.

PRIVACY FIRST
Buford is not a tracking app. Your static location is only accessed when you choose to use a location feature — and only with your permission. Check-in is always voluntary. You control your visibility.  And when you check-out, no more visibility.

What's New in Version 1.3
Bug fixes and improvements:

Fixed an issue where tapping "Suggest it here" on the Add a Show screen would navigate to the wrong place — it now opens the Submit an Event form directly
Fixed the announcement banner overlapping the status bar on iPhone
"New here? Create an account" on the sign-in screen now correctly takes new users to account type selection
Fixed an issue where users could get stuck on the mediums selection screen during signup with no way to go back

What's New in Version 1.2

We've been busy making Buford better for artists, art lovers, and organizers. Here's what's new:

  Chat Improvements
  - When starting a new message, you can now search and find any artist on Buford — not just ones you've favorited
  - Artists with messaging restrictions are shown with a lock icon so you know before you tap
  - Message notifications now update in real time — no more pulling down to refresh to see new messages

  Privacy Controls
  - Manage who can message you right from the More tab — no need to dig into Edit Profile
  - Set your availability to open or restricted at any time 

  Organizer Announcements
  - Festival search in the announcement form now returns accurate results when searching by event name
  - If you're checked into an event, it appears as a one-tap shortcut so you don't have to search for it
  - Form layout fixes — fields no longer run off the edge of the screen on smaller devices 
  
  Live Map
  - The location sharing toggle now has clearer labels so you know exactly who can see your booth
  
  Bug Fixes & Polish
  - Announcement banners no longer overlap the iOS status bar — the dismiss button is always reachable
  - Various stability and display improvements throughout the app
