This big identifier is a scam so save your money. The contact is Roman Iskandarov. For several months I have been trying to get on the site but continue to get the same message. The claim is they are upgrading the site to give better service and it should only take 5 or 10 minutes. Please try again. That was several months ago. There are other more reputable sites.

It said free trial & instantly billed my debit card $40! I had to dispute the fee with my bank because there is no way to contact them!

They didn’t even get the bug right either!

My bug identifier is no longer giving me correct bug types. I feel like it has really gone downhill since I bought it and I am considering canceling my subscription because it keeps telling me the wrong bugs. When I first got it, it was much more accurate I’m not sure exactly what’s going on lately? I enjoy having my bug identifier on my phone because I work with young children and they love to look at bugs and always ask what kind it is.

Ok, this app is bad. I saw it on the App Store and was blown away by how their first picture explaining how the app worked was wrong. (I am an ant nerd) THEY CALLED A WEAVER ANT A FIRE ANT BRUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH they also called it poisonous but it’s actually venomous. It’s also stupid how it cost $30 for something that free apps do way better. Just don’t buy it. (Oh, and all the “Developer Responses” are just AI)

То, что гугл или чатжпт делают бесплатно, здесь стоит денег. Причем подключать платную систему нужно с самого начала. В итоге, чтобы распознать паучка, нужно совершить бесконечно длинный ряд действий. Даже по неведомой причине предлагают покрутить фото. Зачем — загадка.

I tried numerous times to identify a very small beetle and the app kept identifying it as a brown recluse spider. I finally gave up then cancelled my membership. Not a fan of this app at all!

Paid $40 for this App - sent in a picture of a spider taken in the US - App misidentified the spider as a variety only found in Europe.  Sent in an identical photo of the spider - now identified as a tick!  I would like a full refund, as the App is useless

Why would I pay to scan a single bug? This is a money-stealing app. Didn’t mention anything about paying either. You should at least give a single free scan before making us pay/free trial so we can see the actual app. Wouldn’t recommend.

I found a little bug in my house. I tried it five different times. The bug was smaller than a grain of rice and at first it told me it was a wasp. Then it told me it was a tick which it wasn’t any of these. Probably the tick was the closest to what it looked like but I think it was some sort of little tiny beetle. Anyway, I’m not paying for the service.

I woke up at 3 am to find THIS HUGE bug flying around in my house, I need screens put in but my 2 cats love the fresh air, so it must have gotten in through the tiny opening. My cats were playing with it eeeekkkkk.. woke me up and I just had to find out what type of insect this was, so I downloaded this app.. come to find out .. it was a “blinded sphinx moth” this app was so easy to use, very knowledgeable and helpful. 10 out of 10. I let the little guy outside and am now going back to sleep, Goodnight!

I just moved into a new place and found a couple of suspicious bugs in the kitchen that I used the app to identify. It came back they they were COCKROACHES and I even emailed the support email hoping they would tell me the app was wrong, but they did not :( 5 stars for the app, 0 stars for my new apartment 😭

Also I noticed reviews about the free trial being a scam or not being able to identify without paying and I truly believe this is due to user error. Anytime I sign up for an app’s free trial I immediately go into my Apple ID to cancel it, which still allows me access through the end of the free trial date, and never have any issues with being charged. If you don’t cancel it then you will of course be charged..? And I was able to use the identifier using the free trial which did not require payment, but I only needed it once so I can’t speak to long term use for free.

I think the app is great. Ok, sometimes it does not identify your insect correctly, but I feel often this is due to the poor quality of my photo. 
What I really like about the app is that you can send your photo to an expert for identification at a click of a button if you think your insect has been misidentified. 
They usually get back to you within a couple of days with a correct identification. 
So what is there not to like?

I requested identification for a tiny bug found in my bedroom. Mostly concerned whether it would be harmful. I’dnever seen anything quite like it, and it was tiny. They went the extra mile to identify a difficult species based on my photo. I so appreciate the time and effort!
