### 3/5 — Degrees round wrong way

*2025-07-31*

The plum cut and seat cut angles are round the wrong way if I’m doing a 24 degree roof it’s showing the plumb cut 66 and seat 24

Hey guys.
Pretty decent. Is there a section to add ridge thickness? What size are you currently assuming.

Also coukd add Perling angles ?

Thanks

### 3/5 — Not bad

*2020-03-29*

Seat cut and plumb cut are round the wrong way. Needs updating

**Developer response:** Check out our latest update the problem you are experiencing is fully addressed in the help file because of the way the power mitre saws are marked out, when making a square cut which is 90 deg the saw will be marked 0 deg totally confusing???? resulting in some users thinking the app is at fault when it’s all down to the saw markings.

### 3/5 — Mr west

*2015-10-11*

The app is good apart form there's a mistake on it. If you put in 40 degree pitch as an example then the plumb cut should be 40 not 50 and the seat cut should be 50 not 40. I.e 35 degree will be 35 pitch 55 seat not 55 pitch and 35 seat. Apart from that it's good

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2011-12-19*

Not bad at all, intuitive and efficient

### 5/5 — Brilliant, extremely handy app!

*2011-03-29, version 1.1*

Bought this app as it looked good. When I looked at it I had a query which I emailed Buildcalcs about. A response was back to me the following morning. I then asked a further question. Again Buildcalcs responded very fast, this time with detailed sketches to help me understand. I haven't actually tried this app yet, just tested against some known dimension I have. It all seems to stack up and I can't wait to use it on a roof. Very impressed with support given, can not workout how I can get all this for £1.79! Will definitely recommend to other carpenters I know.

### 5/5 — Best roof cuts calculator

*2011-01-31*

I agree with "Disappointed mum", although I fail to see why she is disapointed as this app. is the best thing "since sliced bread".

I believe the issues she mentioned will be addressed in the next upgrade, hopefully together with cripple rafter foot cut calculations where a lay board is used instead of a valley rafter.

This application makes the Steel Square, Stanley Quick Square and Speed Square redundant and most important, it is in metric, together with the ability to perform calculations using the roof slope in degrees.

Excellent application, that is if you have an iTouch, although it's worth buying one just for this application if you use traditional roofing techniques - you will pay for your iTouch in time saved in just one roofing job.

I look forward to the next upgrade

### 5/5 — Great App

*2011-01-17*

A great App but would benefit from a roof diagram showing setting out and all roof members and measurements this would then be one of the best apps around also I've seen an app where you set your bevel of the IPhone screen worth considering.

### 1/5 — Not Great.

*2010-12-02*

This app could be so much better.
Once you enter the dimensions of your timbers there is no way to move on to the next page, meaning I have to press the home button and reopen the app every time !
Save your money and forget this app.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

Really handy app. Quick simple & easy to use.
Not yet tested it, but look forward to doing so.
Saves hunting for the ready reckoner

### 1/5 — 🤤

*2021-06-26*

Seat cut and plumb cut still the wrong way!!! Wouldn’t trust the other measurements

### 1/5 — Zero star, does not calculate accurate common rafter length

*2020-09-13, version 1.9*

Ex. A 24’x40’ home entered with a 16” overhang gives you a 12’+16” line length. Therefore 13’-4” or 160” (13.3333 (1.111083 unit run) on a 6” pitch or 26.57 deg. Or (13.41 unit rise).

(1.111083*13.41) = 14.8’. Or 14’-10 13/16” the correct overall common rafter length.

The app, after carefully checking all settings spits out a 15’-3” common lengths for not apparent reason after being fed all the same dimensions as well as a 26.57 degree angle for the 6/12 roof that I calculated above.

### 1/5 — Utterly useless

*2019-02-17*

Utterly useless

**Developer response:** You’ve taken the time to trash a best selling roof app so why not email us with your queries and we will definitely resolve your problems, tens of thousands of users cannot be wrong.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2018-07-31*

Useless wouldn’t recommend gives you the wrong angles and wrong measurement your better off just guessing !!!!

**Developer response:** Would you please email me with your issues and you will be surprised how much support we will give you to resolve your problems with our program that we know works 100%.

### 1/5 — Dissapointed

*2018-05-09*

Got the app and none of the dimensions it figures out are correct so basically a complete waste of money and if you cut a roof off it on the ground would end up costing you a fortune as every rafter would be the wrong length and the quantities would be well more than required extremely dissapointed

**Developer response:** Would you please email me with your issues and you will be surprised how much support we will give you to resolve your problems with our program that we know works 100%.

### 1/5 — Don't waste money

*2014-12-07*

**Developer response:** Would you please email me with your issues and you will be surprised how much support we will give you to resolve your problems with our program that we know works 100%.

### 1/5 — Builder

*2013-10-26*

Junk waste of money Ridiculous input requirements of length and width one must be longer then the other

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2012-10-08*

Got this to figure common rafter lenghts. It wont even do that. Nothing here, but a picture show.

### 1/5 — This app is rubbish I want my money back

*2012-06-27*

Terrible

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Brilliant app for roof framing

*2023-04-01*

Quality app never had any problems using it. I’m sure people giving negative reviews just don’t have much knowledge on roofs and are imputing wrong data. Would definitely recommend this app for roofs

### 5/5 — Great Apps

### 5/5 — Quality app

### 5/5 — Useful

*2016-07-17*

I'm not a roofer but have always had an interest in how to build one. This is a great informative app laid out in simple laymans terms.

### 5/5 — Best roof app

*2015-11-21*

Without a doubt the best app for working out lengths of rafters and amounts of timber , easy to use with a basic understanding of how to set a roof out saves so much time , use this on every roof I cut now and it is always spot on ! Good work 👍

### 5/5 — AMAZING!!!!!!

*2011-10-30*

Have used this app on 6 roofs now and have all been 100% accurate! Would recommend this to anyone!

### 5/5 — Good job

*2011-05-19*

Great app! Works good. Very spill and good details

### 5/5 — Excellent app 5*

*2011-04-29*

This is a must have app for anyone wanting to pitch a hand cut roof. I have pitched many roofs using the traditional roofing square which can take a bit of time but this app saved so much time. Especially if you want to make a slight adjustment the new figures are available in an instant.
