When I type on my phone, I can’t see my message because the keyboard blocks the view. ### 2/5 — Almost never works *2025-02-20, version 2.2.2* The app is fine when it works, but 3/5 times it doesn’t work. Plenty of login issues and QR code issues. ### 2/5 — Buggy *2024-09-27* I honestly don’t understand how in this day and age you can have an app that is so broken. It crashes/laggs/doesn’t provide updates (teachers in daycare say they post regularly, and I believe them). The only good news is that customer support responds within the app quickly, but most of the time they just say “it’s a known issue and we are working on it”, without providing any timelines. The same issues have been consistently repeating for months. I’m Giving it 2 stars, because i guess this app is better than nothing at it does work for check in-out and pictures do show up (about half of the time). ### 2/5 — App not working *2024-02-01* The past week the app is not working at all. Can’t see anything or look at any information. It shows a blank page at the landing page and always wonder what is the issue now. Please show user friendly error message. It gives user indication to take next step. It is always a guessing game to keep refreshing, exit and again launch the app or the login logout game. The app provides a way to reach out to our kids and it is a very important. Devs please make a point that this app needs to be dependable . Parents deserve better. ### 2/5 — Was working but now not at all *2023-10-02* This app was working great and I loved seeing updates about my sons day at pre-school. Ever since upgrading to the latest iPhone I see no content in the app. I am logged in and can navigate the app but no content shown. Please help otherwise this app will be completely useless ### 1/5 — I see my this app is rated so low *2023-09-25* My kid just started school. Was so excited to be able to see updates throughout the day, or so I thought. Not sure how is app is developed and maintained, but issues and errors happen quite often. Recently, they had an issue for a whole day that apparently was “resolved” later (so I was told but highly doubt it) but the the data for the whole day was not recoverable nor did they seem to care how that impacted the parents. Definitely not an app that reflects their value on parents and children. And that has a direct impact on the school, not a positive one for that matter! ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2023-08-02, version 1.63* Miss the good days of having bright wheel. This app always crashes, Logs me out, or just freezes on me. Notifications use to come up for everything my child did. Now I don’t get nothing!! Saving QR code was easy. Communication with staff is hard. Why would I have to type in staff name when I’m replying to a message!! BK gets a zero for having there own app. I’m all about change what’s best but this app is not the best nor have I seen any changes. I should know what’s going on without opening my phone. Hey child is sleeping or hey child just ate. Or hey your child just ate. We don’t get that at all. ### 1/5 — App needs a lot of work *2023-06-19, version 1.63* Slow, clunky, and not nearly as good as the Brightwheel app. Cannot stay as connected and teachers get frustrated so they don’t send as many pictures. Big downgrade. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Crashing Out *2026-05-11* The app has always been glitchy but manageable. However it has now logged me out and keeps timing out when I try to log back in. I’ve deleted and redownloaded multiple Times. As the primary communication tool for parents and BK locations, BK corporate needs to address these issues ASASP. It’s clear problems have lingered for a long time and their lack of solving them is really inexcusable. ### 1/5 — Pretty bad *2026-04-21* User interface is bad. The app is slow and does not load pictures. Exceptionally bad when it comes to dealing with video media. Keeps logging me out and keeps going down as well. I’m constantly being kicked out and inable to log in even though I can log in on a regular web browser. Web browser won’t let me save pictures of my son though. I’d really like to understand who at BK is responsible for this and why it’s not getting fixed. ### 1/5 — It’s very slow and buggy. *2024-08-02, version 2.1.14* As a parent quite concerning because I can’t do anything with the app: I’m unable to check in my kid with the QR code, see the schedule and it takes soooo long to load messages. Why bother building a special app for Building Kidz? There are already existing apps that work well. ### 1/5 — Building Kidz Mountain View is awesome!! The app is NOT *2024-04-09* This app is not intuitive. It’s fine for checking kids in and out of school, but when the company required parents to pay via the app, I ran into trouble. I just wanted to pay with two payment methods. Guess that’s more than the programmers could handle… I have tried to contact the company about it. The school is just as frustrated by it as I am. Building Kidz Mountain View is a great place for students! Would highly recommend a new app for parents. ### 1/5 — Very buggy, hurting our daycare experience *2024-03-18* This app honestly has us considering switching daycares. It’s very important to us to know what’s going on during the day especially considering our son has eating issues. We need to know how much he’s eating, and if it’s not logged correctly in the app, the teachers never know. I don’t blame the teachers because they can’t memorize every kid’s schedule. Whenever we ask about it they say the app wasn’t working. I also get logged out all the time and the autopay function sometimes doesn’t process. ### 1/5 — iPhone *2023-12-12, version 2.1.7* Has not been working with new iPhone iOS updates! It does everything you need for school and keeps things simple and organized. Checking the updates viewing photos and billing is user-friendly. I love the real time updates from teachers.The menus and curriculum keep me informed about my child’s learning and nutrition . My favorite feature is the photo and video moments, giving me a glimpse into their activities throughout the day. Plus the announcements, and the event reminders are all in one place eliminating the need to check emails all over the place. There were some bugs due to the merger but that seems to be worked out now. This honestly is one of the best parent engagement tools that I have used. For parents it is a one stop shop for all needs- academic updates, billing, parent to teacher communication. I personally am satisfied with how the app is run. I like that it’s not a third party app but it’s in-house. I can see updates on my daughter including photos and download those photos as expected. I wasn’t able to pay one of my bills but I heard that issue was on the system’s backend, not the apps fault.
