### 3/5 — Needs dark mode/ high contrast mode for accessibility.

*2026-09-03, version 2.5.0*

The app is great; holds tasks until I can add them to my BuJo, but there’s no way for me to adjust the colours to work for my eyes. It would be very helpful if I could just have it display in high contrast in settings.

### 3/5 — Good almost great

*2026-02-03, version 2.5.0*

Works as intended. And love the reflect option includes log from the app.

My only things that would make it better would be
1. The load page to be the log. That way it minimizes friction and immediately you can jot ideas
2. The widget to show if you marked an item as migrated or not. I wish it would either be removed from the widget or the “x” shown. Right now it keeps original symbol even after marking it as migrated.
3. Reflection page editable to add our own reflection routine before offering the photo option. That way people who are new to bujo can remember their end of day routines easier.

### 3/5 — error

*2026-01-07*

When adding a new book and selecting the year and month, the app freezes if I try to set a date earlier than 2021. I’m unable to register the book, which is very frustrating.

### 2/5 — Why did I paid this?

*2025-12-28, version 2.5.0*

I am paying the paper journal 30$ and I am expecting a premium product coming with the right digital companion, instead this comes at a price.
Then once you purchase it the functionality is extremely limited. It’s a to-do list that you can easily setup on apple reminders, that does not integrate with Siri, that does not have extra space for notes or upload a picture.

The reflect-reminders are an interesting concept, but it’s under developed as pointed out on other reviews.

### 3/5 — Freezes every time I try to log pages in the library

*2025-12-28, version 2.5.0*

Please fix the freezing that happens every time I try to log pages in the library. It happens when trying to create volumes for my bullet journals older than my current.

Also I use a notebook separate from work. Being able to have both over the course of the same dates is a need function for many of us.

Otherwise it’s a great app.

### 4/5 — Widget’s half baked

*2025-10-27, version 2.5.0*

Unfortunately the widget doesn’t show the current status of your tasks, ie: they always show as incomplete in the widget despite being completed in the app. I feel that the widgets ARE the main reason to buy this app (for quick logging and glancing at your logs on the go), so it’s a real shame they don’t function correctly at this time. Hoping this bug is addressed soon!

### 4/5 — Awesome companion!

*2025-07-26*

Only 4 stars because there’s some things that aren’t possible (I have 2 notebooks at the same time and it won’t allow me to use the same dates for two different notebooks) and sometimes it just crashes! But overall I love this digital archive of all my bullet journals :)

### 3/5 — Useful but hard to read

*2025-07-18, version 2.5.0*

I really like using this for rapid logging on the go but the light background color and small white text is really hard to read. I wish it there were settings to adjust that to a higher contrast or different text size

### 3/5 — Good idea, but inflexible

*2025-05-31, version 2.5.0*

I use the app primarily to archive my journals, but it’s completely illogical that every page needs to be assigned a date. Please change that. Also, I filled my journals to the last pages, but while the official Leuchtturm bujo hast 206 numbered pages, the digital archive stops at 204. What’s that about?

### 4/5 — Please add more settings

*2025-04-21*

To whoever developed this app: thank you. I think it's a great journal companion, with the log and automatic deletion after 3 days.
Just one request: please allow us to set the font type and size for improved visibility.

### 4/5 — Pas mal du tout mais…

*2025-02-06*

### 3/5 — Fine, but…

*2025-01-24, version 2.5.0*

I get the simplification of the process. However, there are a few issues with this app:

1. Text size and background color choices. Too small for those of us who are in their "reading glasses" era. You'll get there soon, Ryder. Why not "black on cream" like a pen on your paper products? These make it too hard to read.
2. Reflection time rigidity. Why? I got busy on a phone call with a family member last night. It wasn't over until after midnight. Now I can't mark last night's reflection because I did it at about 12:15. Why? Make them editable in the past. I have a lot of "missed" reflections for this reason.
3. Journal dates rigidity. You now sell "Pocket" journals. I'm ok adding my own size, but since you're trying to sell me two sizes, one to have with me when mobile, why can't it start on the same dates? Don't give us reasons not to buy your stuff! Could I say it was next month's? It's an ugly hack, but could I even have two open with "Current" as the end date?

None of this feels like "there's no wrong way to Bullet Journal". This app is telling me I'm doing it wrong every day.

### 3/5 — Overall Great, a few Minor Drawbacks

*2025-01-14, version 2.5.0*

Overall I really like the app. It’s simple, easy to use, and works well. The new version has some clutch features like backups and a sample BuJo. I’ve had some problems with the app not loading properly.

### 2/5 — Glitchy

*2025-01-02, version 2.5.0*

I would really like to use the app but every time I try to record my reflection, I get a blank screen and it freezes. The other features work fine but this makes it unusable. So frustrating because it used to work fine. If this was fixed, I would use the app again.

### 3/5 — It's a paid advertisement

*2024-11-08, version 2.5.0*

So I am new to BuJo. I am trying to retool how I work to be more present/productive and this seemed a great concept. Bought a journal and the app in hopes it would help me launch out well. The app is helpful in the sense you can add tasks, etc, and they're temporary to keep you on paper. Frustrating but I appreciate why it's like that.

It has some resources to help you get started, but I feel like it's mostly stuff you can find on their site or on the internet for free. And most of what I have seen that isn't an article or small video is class I can also pay for if I want to learn the official way to do things. I feel like a $30 investment should come with some kind of onboarding system that is gradual and helps you get into BuJo without trying to sell me more stuff. I feel like I'll have spent the same price as an Evernote subscription before I'm done at this rate, and it's not even a system I'm fully sure will work for me.

I'm still trying and still hopeful it'll work, but right out the gate I'm worried I just got talked out of $30 with little to show but an organizational foreign language project.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t support overlapping journals

*2026-03-13, version 2.5.0*

Update March 2026

I thought I would try this app again and it continues to lock up when I select dates. I noticed the app hasn’t been updated in years. It feels like this is becoming abandonware at this point. I would recommend just scanning your journals with Apple preview app although you are limited to 24 pages at a time. Alternatively you can use Readdles Scanner Pro.

Update July 2024

This app has now become unusable for me. If I try to add a journal to my library with previous dates it simply won’t work. I pick a starting date and it’s fine. When I go to pick an ending date it locks up when I try to scroll prior to 2022. I’ve completely deleted the app several times, restarting my phone but nothing works.

At this point I would recommend using a good scanner app and just scan in your notebooks. The rest of the content in the app is already available for free on the BJ website. Extra features like on the go logging have an annoying 72 hour auto delete. I understand the goal was to get you to migrate to the journal but the time should be adjustable. I would love to go for a week vacation and not have to bring my journal and risk losing it. But the 72 hour limit means I can’t use this app daily to log my vacation. I recommend using Notes, Apples built in journal app or DayOne when a digital solution is needed.

Original review

I really want to give this app 5 stars but it has an absolutely fatal flaw for myself and I’m sure many others. You can have journals with overlapping dates. The reason this is critical is many of us can not mix our work and personal journals. So if you have to keep 2 journals that overlap the same date period you can’t back them up. If the app would simply add the ability to have multiple journal libraries it would solve this problem.

### 1/5 — Why?

*2026-02-03, version 2.5.0*

Useless functionalities—better off just having a physical notebook. Widgets are just as pointless. Save your money.

### 1/5 — I took a chance and regret it

*2025-12-10, version 2.5.0*

First off, the idea of this app is great; that being said it is completely unusable. Constant freezing and crashing on my newer iPhone. Trying to even open the menu crashes the app. Apple has been less than helpful. Maybe the developer can use the money I paid for an UNUSABLE app to implement some fixes. Completely disappointed with this app and the company in general after this experience. I went from a loyal fan to never purchasing anything manufactured or developed by them ever again.

### 1/5 — Neglectware

*2025-09-01, version 2.5.0*

Sort the reviews by Most Recent, and you’ll see that there are many reviews that express frustration with how difficult it is to actually read the screen, due to poor choice of font and background colors. This isn’t just a design preference, this is literally an accessibility issue.
Then notice that, while a new version was released last year, the app has not been touched since then: no updates in response to user requests, no bug fixes, and no responses to reviews by users.
So disrespectful.

### 1/5 — Unusable on iPhone 16 pro

*2025-06-17, version 2.5.0*

Non functioning app that doesn’t offer refund. Just pure scam.

### 1/5 — Nul

*2025-05-29*

Grosse arnaque rien ne se sauvegarde au delà de 72 h

### 1/5 — Feature doesn‘t work + advertising done wrong

*2024-11-30*

Reflect: when you select skip reminder and disable picture, the feature doesn’t work. It shows a blurry brown and nothing happens. Also when u open reflect from the Menu. You then have to restart the app. On iPhone and iPad. On the homepage to the top is always the message to join BuJo U. With no way to disable it or make it go away. Talking about. Bullet Journal should be the very least rubbing other stuff into my face.

### 1/5 — iPad Version

*2024-10-07, version 2.5.0*

Needs Pencil Pro Support , for iPad Pro . Please add so I can modify this review . Thanks

### 1/5 — Bugs not fixed

*2024-09-26, version 2.5.0*

And ads for the own book, that can be disabled

### 1/5 — Deletes after 72 hours.

*2024-09-04, version 2.5.0*

Lazy people work twice as hard. All notes disappear after 72 hours. So any notes you take you have to rejournal them in your notebook. Just make this app open for people who want an app and not to have rewrite everything a second time in a journal. I would pay more to not have this feature.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excelente!

### 5/5 — Fantastic for people who don’t carry their journal with them everywhere!

*2025-09-03, version 2.5.0*

I truly love this app! I’ve been Bullet Journaling off and on for probably 12 years. My downfall has always been that I don’t carry my journal with me everywhere, so things often don’t make it in. I had a list in my notes app of “Things to add to journal”, but I always forgot that it existed. The fact that this app has a quick add widget that I can have up front and center of my Home Screen is so helpful! And the fact that things disappear after 72 hrs forces me to interact with my journal on the regular.

### 5/5 — Très utile

*2025-08-24*

Très utile et j’aimerais voir des mises à jours avec davantage de fonctionnalités

### 5/5 — Simple and Effective

*2025-02-12, version 2.5.0*

I have to say this app has proved to be more effective than I thought. I used to use Apple Reminders to log quick tasks that I would come back to later, but inevitably wait days before opening the app, be overwhelmed by the large list of tasks needing to be addressed, and avoid “migrated” them to their specific list or area of my life.

After moving back to pen and paper and using the bullet journal method I still needed a way to capture tasks and quick notes on my phone on the go so I paid for this app. The sheer brilliance of a task or note expiring after 72 hours forces your hand to migrate them timely into your bullet journal (or any “system”) but also reminds you that if you haven’t looked at something in 3+ days it must not be that important. There have been many times I’ve forgotten to open the app after 72 hours just to find out all my tasks and notes expired. I at first panic, and then sigh a relief. “If it was that important it will come back”.

The app is a little dated on the font/style and I wish it had Siri Shortcuts accessibility so I could voice log tasks with Siri. Other than that I’ve loved it and have been using it about a year now.

### 5/5 — Color

*2024-12-12, version 2.5.0*

Is it possible to change the color

### 5/5 — A truly excellent app

*2024-12-08, version 2.5.0*

A great mix of functional and beautiful, this is exactly what a companion app to a paper method should be. The log widgets are fantastic, and the time limit of how long you can store entries prevents the app itself becoming a todo list. Developers have done a great job with this.

### 5/5 — Simply effective app

*2024-12-04, version 2.5.0*

But I would love it to have font options because the current one does not support Vietnamese and a difficult to read.
SF font, Lexend, or Inter font will deffinately help the app gain more users instead. Like the minimaList app.

### 5/5 — Tolle App

*2023-08-11*

Ich finde die App super. Läuft bei mir Stabil und ich nutze sie aktiv zur Ergänzung meines Bullet Journal

### 5/5 — OMG

*2023-04-14, version 2.1.1*

Saved my life

### 5/5 — Simply elegant

*2023-01-31, version 2.1.1*

Seek and easy to use, eases my to-do stress
