### 4/5 — Love the app but the new update has some issues

*2024-01-11, version 2.6*

This is a great app that I rely on for bjj adjacent training, however there are a couple of teething issues with the new update.
The new UI is very nice, however there is no mention of how many sets one should be doing after the warmups. Additionally, there is a space for weight in the warmups, but not in the main workouts which seems counterintuitive.
Thanks

### 5/5 — Everything you’d want in a mobility program

*2023-09-07*

It has tons of routines, warm ups and workouts. It shows a video with verbal instruction or a video without verbal instruction so you can keep listening to your music. It would take months to get through everything. I’m impressed with the app.

### 5/5 — So good!!!

*2023-02-12*

Really impressed! Better than I was expecting !

### 5/5 — Unleash your inner champion with the best jujitsu fitness program ever.

*2023-02-10*

I am beyond grateful to JT, Joey, and the entire Bullet Proof team for their amazing program and this app.

As an average, unfit blue belt, I was facing many challenges in my BJJ training, including weight gain, inconsistency, and a feelings of inadequacy.

However, after re-joining Bullet Proof with a focus on building strength, increasing mobility, and reducing the risk of injury, I am proud to say that my progress has been nothing short of remarkable.

In just three months, I have regained my strength, established a solid foundation for lifelong fitness, and improved my BJJ skills.

The program's incorporation of mobility, gym work, and home workout options makes it incredibly versatile and accessible, even with limited equipment. As someone who frequently travels for work, I find the app to be incredibly helpful in keeping me on track and focused on my goals as I can always find a 24/7 gym to train at.

Additionally, the community and podcast are simply epic, and the team's dedication to helping others is truly inspiring. I cannot express enough gratitude for the positive impact they have had on my mind, body, health, and BJJ skills.
I wholeheartedly recommend the Bullet Proof program to anyone looking to improve their BJJ game. Thanks lads. 10/10

**Developer response:** Captain Radsy, thank you for the epic review! We're stoked you're getting benefits from what we put out there. Oss

### 5/5 — *Strangulation Noises Intensify*

*2023-02-02, version 1.1*

Great workout programs for all around fitness and busy parents. Improves jiujitsu game too 😉

### 5/5 — Amazing app with invaluable information.

*2023-01-27*

This app has literally been the difference between me training and not training .Prior to using bulletproof my body was constantly breaking down on me and making it virtually impossible to get consistent training. Now I’m back full time and feeling better than ever.

**Developer response:** Thank you for this epic review, Tyson! We appreciate you

### 5/5 — The BJJ and mobility app I’ve been waiting for

*2023-01-24*

It’s got everything and more than what I was hoping to find.
A built in community to chat with, programs to do strength, and mobility work. Tracking your BJJ, mobility and strength workouts with rings to visualize your progress.

They knocked it out of the park with this one.

### 5/5 — easily accessible app, knowledgeable content!

*2023-01-22*

this app is well designed and easily accessible. the knowledge on this app if of great value and i know one of the boys and have been following him for a while - seeing his wealth of knowledge around training and in particular ju-jitsu. if you’re looking to get serious about your technique and training - this is the app for you 🤞🏽

**Developer response:** Thank you for this review, Amy! We're stoked you're enjoying using our app

### 5/5 — New App

*2023-01-14*

As both a BJJ practioner as well as a background as a Chiropractor who took care of many highlevel Jiu Jitsu athletes, I am impressed with both the depth and and practical guidance oulined in these programs

JT was my personal trainer when I lived back in Australia, and I also referred clients to him as part of their rehabilitaion program

The specific plan and self care designed to keep you on the mat, participating in the discipline that you enjoy is available to you through ther Bulletproof to BJJ programs

With the launch of the Bulletproof to BJJ App, you now have the capacity to benefit from such information with great accessibility

Love the lay out, and the built in accountability measures to monitor and track your progress

### 5/5 — One of the best BJJ specific training programs on the market - now available in an app!

*2023-01-14*

Have been following the boys at Bulletproof for BJJ for years and the introduction of this new app is a game changer for my training. The app makes it dead easy to access training programs (I can access multiple programs from my dashboard) and the journal functionality helps me log my workouts and jits to keep me accountable.

The app aside, I’ve been a strong believer in their programs. I’ve been following Standards for a while now and it’s simple enough to do 2-3 times a week alongside training BJJ, and I’ve felt so much stronger and mobile in general on the mats from it. The hybrid strength and mobility work hits the right things each workout rather than having to find twice as much time to fit in both separately.

If you’re looking to get stronger and mobile and just stay on the mats for as long as possible, I honestly can’t recommend this app and the programs enough.

**Developer response:** Thank you Raelene, we appreciate this review!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Buggy app

*2025-06-06*

Keeps freezing where I have to kill the app and relaunch to view a video

### 1/5 — Too many bugs

*2024-05-31*

The videos are good but the app barely works as intended. The basics like checkboxes don’t work half the time.

### 1/5 — Freezes on Membership Page

*2024-02-28, version 3.0*

Guys the app doesn’t work. I’ve made an account and logged in, but it freezes on the membership options page, every time. I’ve uninstalled the app numerous times on my phone but it happens each time I log in. I’ve even installed it on a tablet with the same result

### 1/5 — Can't access anything

*2024-01-18*

Can't access the app or the website...multiple emails have gone unanswered - and now I'll be charged with no way to cancel.
What looked promising has now become a total loss of money with no way to stop being charged - for nothing in return.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2023-03-19, version 1.3*

Did you really just force me to update the app and then lock me out of the workout DURING my training only to reduce functionality and not fix the bugs?

That doesn’t make me want to pay you as I have no faith you’re going to improve the app if I do.

### 2/5 — Good idea, poorly executed

*2025-03-05, version 4.0*

Honest Feedback for Future Improvements

I genuinely appreciate the intention behind this app. It’s clear the developers aren’t from a big software house, but they’ve built a solid foundation with a lot of potential. I’m a big fan of their podcast and was excited to invest in a full year of the app. However, there are several small but impactful issues that make the user experience less enjoyable.

Key Areas for Improvement:
	1.	Loading Times: The app is painfully slow to load. It’s frustrating to be left staring at the screen, waiting for workouts to start.
	2.	Workout Flexibility: Currently, you can only access a workout by adding it to a program. Sometimes, you just want to jump into a kettlebell workout without committing to a six-week program.
	3.	Progress Tracking Between Programs: There’s no seamless tracking of progress between programs. For example, if I log a deadlift weight in “Standards,” it doesn’t carry over to “Strength 101.” The programs feel quite separate.
	4.	Random Restarts: The app occasionally restarts itself, forcing you to navigate back to the workout—an unnecessarily tedious process.
	5.	Historical Data Visibility: There’s no way to view historical lift data. If I have an off day and reduce my weight, I can’t easily see what I achieved when I was feeling stronger the previous week.
	6.	Session Target Flexibility: I don’t see an option to update weekly session targets. Some weeks, I’m fully focused on BJJ with no gym sessions, while other weeks involve heavy travel for work. It would be helpful to adjust the app’s goals accordingly.
	7.	Offline Mode: An offline mode would be a game-changer, especially for those of us who train in gyms with poor internet connectivity—like hotel gyms.

I truly hope the developers take this feedback on board. There’s so much potential here, and with these improvements, the app could become a go-to fitness tool. While I love the concept and the podcast, I’m considering switching back to traditional PT apps next year, as they offer these features and more.

### 2/5 — Glitchy, need to include podcast access, good programming though

*2024-05-14*

So the programming is solid. No contest there.
But once you have access there is nothing stopping you rom transcribing the programs to excel and abandoning the app.

I didn’t want to do that because the app could be handy. Unfortunately the app is very glitchy. When logging your sets it routinely lags and fails. This means you spend a lot of time mid workout trying to reload the app and fix your tracking. So in that sense the app isn’t better than a transcribed program which you print and carry hard-copy.

I could forgive the app if you got access to exclusive podcasts included in subscription. But you don’t. That’s an extra $5 a month on top of your $30.

My advice. Do the trial and transcribe all the workouts you want. Then unsubscribe from the $30 app and subscribe to the $5 podcast.

**Developer response:** Phil, thanks for your honest review. You're absolutely right, we've had our fair share of bugs, which we've been working really hard on fixing. App function is much smoother now, which is great!
Not super stoked on your recommending people sign up for free and rip our life's work. Call us old school, but we think the 30+ years of experience and expertise that's gone into our app is worth something. You're not wrong, I just would put your recommendation in the 'not particularly cool' basket. Oss!

### 3/5 — Good exercises, frustrating app

*2024-05-01*

Love the workouts but it’s a constant battle to check off my exercises and complete them. This always messes with my flow and the wasted time is adding up.

### 3/5 — Great Program, Less Great App

*2024-03-15*

The program is well thought out and excellent. It has helped me so much in my middle age as I try to stay healthy for jiu jitsu. The app is ridiculous. It always thinks the same routine is next, so I have to look back in my history to see what’s actually next. It also will log certain things then not give credit in the dashboard. That’s kind of annoying, but it’s very worth it, as this still ends with me doing the exercises I need to keep at it. I recommend the program, it be prepared to do a little work to overcome the many deficiencies of the app itself.

### 4/5 — Good workouts, but app slows me down

*2024-01-25*

I really like the exercises and how they pair well with my BJJ. However, it takes a lot of clicks to get into my workouts, and, sometimes I can’t get there without restarting the app. Sometimes I complete exercises and they don’t complete I have to keep retrying or close the app. Often times the workout screen freezes and I have to restart the app. I click items like the instructional video and it doesn’t always load. The update looks nice but ultimately it has caused me more struggle to track through my workouts. I’d prefer the app to work well vs looking nice. The 4 stars is weighted higher because the workouts have been very valuable to me, so I’m putting up with the inefficiencies of the app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Nice update team!

*2026-06-22*

Excellent update, much smoother and cleaner guys.

### 5/5 — Big Upgrade

*2026-06-15*

The newest version of the App is great. The new features are fun to use but the speed and performance is the best part.

### 5/5 — Good app, better programs, great community

*2025-10-31*

I love the workout programs these guys come up with. I noticed some great gains from the strength program. The community and support you get is awesome

### 5/5 — Seamless and intuitive

*2025-08-14*

I started this year in BJJ, like most older guys lacking mobility, flexibility and specific strength to really make a difference on the mats. Enter the bulletproof for bjj app, the app with all the support from videos and community make it easy to plug and play the training to suit your needs. I can happily say that has made a huge contribution to my training and giving me enough variety, progression and repetition to see the gains. This app is a must have for the busy athlete wanting to maximise their potential on the mats! Just get the app!!

### 5/5 — Great overall program

*2024-10-08*

45years old, doing BJJ last 3yrs & stopped lifting when I started BJJ. Realized I needed to keep my joints strong & wanted a program. Perfect supplement to add into my week. Usually do 3 days BJJ & 2 Days of their Standards. Perfect balance without over working it for the BJJ hobiest who spends to much time in the office & commuting

### 5/5 — Always delivers great results

*2024-09-10*

A huge thank you to JT and Joey not only for this awesome training tool.

BPFBJJ has helped me not only get stronger and increase my mobility and movement, but also to keep me training hard constantly and confidently but most of all has helped me to finally be pain free again after years struggling with some issues I thought I’d never kick to the curb.

Thanks fellas.

I’ve been an athlete my whole life and I wish I had this resource all those years ago.

Also, the support and service along the way has been stellar.

Osu 🙏🏼🫶

### 5/5 — Great app, great podcast great community!

*2024-07-04*

I have been listening to the Bulletproof podcast for about a year, and started using the app about eight months ago. It has made me stronger and more mobile, just as advertised! The Facebook community is very active, and Joey and JT personally answer questions with the Facebook community group. It’s really appreciated, and I have gotten so much from both learning from the guys and from consistently utilizing the exercises in the app. Absolutely recommend for anyone doing Jiu Jitsu, or even if you just want solid, easy to follow and progressive strength and mobility routines.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2024-02-27*

Super easy to use: intuitive navigation, has all the features you want in an exercise app.

Also these guys really know what they’re doing on the fitness side of things. They’re as qualified as you can get.

### 5/5 — The best companion on your jiu jitsu journey!

*2024-02-15*

Plenty of programs to follow for strength and mobility. Very easy to use with many exercises that update based on your level. The program remembers what exercise and weight you did in your workout last week so you can easily keep track of what you are up to.
Track your jiu jitsu and gym sessions in a calendar, I like to leave myself notes on what I learned that day as it makes me re think about the lesson.
Having a program to work by that has been completed by professionals is a game changer. I was doing strength work from my own program but these guys have put hours and hours of work into what are the best exercises for you to do.
They also have a podcast and an Instagram account so you can really deep dive into jiu jitsu.
I hope this grows and they can keep giving us this excellent content.

**Developer response:** Dom, thanks so much for the 5 star review. We are stoked you're loving the app and the podcast!

### 5/5 — Good workouts, Good updates

*2024-02-14*

I really like the exercises and how they pair well with my BJJ. I feel so much more capable and my recovery has improved immensely along with my mobility. The app was recently updated fixing a lot of what I struggled with. It’s 10x better now. I appreciate the fast follow update!
