UPDATE YOUR APP so we can use it to operate the the add on equipment we purchased!!!!!! The app is horrible!! It only connects when we are at home in close physical proximity to our spa. When we are out and about it can take us 30-60 minutes to connect to the spa. If we do manage connect we have to close the app and reconnect just to make sure the setting that I changed are saved. On numerous occasions the setting I've updated using the app just blank out and the spa reverts to the settings saved in the spa panel. Don't even try calling tech support for this app!!! They are rude and worthless, they know their app is junk, they refuse to talk to the customers who use the app. ### 1/5 — Extremely disappointed *2017-02-04, version 2.2* Like other reviewers I wasted a few hundred bucks on what should be a straightforward application. This thing simply doesn't work! Please don't waste your money: get Bluetooth speakers instead. ### 1/5 — Agree with other reviews - works but needs major update *2016-12-31, version 2.2* Original review: Our spa is 10 ft away from the nearest booster and we control many other devices at our home thru wifi perfectly fine. However this app does not work well at all, I've repeatedly adjusted settings and power cycled the tub off/on. The setup works for a few hours and then loses settings or connection, as a developer myself this should be very simple to have function. Seems like they need a major app controller rewrite before selling this feature in the spa. We would not recommend you spend money on this function in the spa. Update 12/2016: we finally have this app working. I had to cycle power on/off the hot tub several times to get this functional. I only tried after or local spa dealer assured me it does work but is "finicky" and he is right. I would not recommend spending money on this "controller" in the spa unless there is a major app rewrite, the app is buggy. We have two homes and the goal was to control the spa from our other home. This works "when it works" but when it doesn't I have to have a friend come over and reset it. In which case Its easier to have the friend just turn the spa heat up...if you already have bought the controller you can make it work, but if you haven't bought it yet, then I would not recommend doing so. ### 1/5 — Bullfrog spa app *2016-12-26, version 2.2* Doesn't work! In 2016 calling this a truly web based control is a total failure. When I open the app, it asked to connect and then just closes automatically now. It was a pathetic app that didn’t work when I got the tub (which I love), and they haven’t fine a single upgrade in years. Still terrible. I can’t even see what the temp is, let alone control anything. I can connect directly to the tub to manage it, but not through my home network. I’m on iOS12.1. Please fix. ### 1/5 — Waste of app development time and terrible brand management *2018-10-28, version 3.0* Why even bother promoting or pretending to have functionality that doesn’t actually work? This is terrible for the bullfrog brand. An otherwise excellent hot tub, is rendered questionable by the awful business decision to pretend they have cloud control, but are either unable or unwilling to get the right hardware and/or software to make it actually work. Seriously, Bullfrog, take the app down, and quit selling this option. It’s not an actual product that you are willing to invest in and make it work... it just makes the brand look bad pretending to have this functionality. I’m embarrassed FOR you guys for these terrible business decisions. You’ve obviously had many years of feedback, and still have chosen to do nothing about it. Very unfortunate to let such a horribly executed minor feature detract from an otherwise awesome hot tub. ### 1/5 — Complete piece of shi *2018-07-20, version 3.0* I have about 100 apps on my phone and this is by far the worst one, it’s completely useless. I have no idea how well the functionally works, because the connectivity simply doesn’t. It’s so bad, all the developers should be fired or forced to set themselves on fire. ### 1/5 — Poor Product & App *2018-06-09, version 3.0* Spa’s WiFi module needs a firmware update to fix a connectivity issue. System goes offline in power save mode and fails to reconnect until power cycled. ### 1/5 — Worst App Ever? *2018-05-30, version 3.0* It took me fifteen minutes to connect to the WiFi it was broadcasting. Then it wouldn’t connect to my own network. I have a very new router and the signal is 100mbps around my hot tub. I can stream 4K videos to the patio TV. It connects maybe 5% of the time. It’s fleeting at best. I can’t tell what’s going on with the WiFi module because it still have an assigned IP by my router. The whole point is that it should just work, but it doesn’t. Awful waste of money. I got this because my control panel is not easily accessible. Poor choice. Do not get this. Bullfrog and BWA, you are truly con artists delivering defective products. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — No issues, works flawlessly *2016-09-26, version 2.2* I have a feeling the poor reviews are from bad routers. I used to suffer from connection issues as well and purchased a top of the router and never have connection issues. This includes this app as it has been immediately responsive at anytime I wish to use the app. It's nice to adjust your settings from anywhere. ### 5/5 — Rarely could get this to work *2016-02-01, version 2.2* It is now magically working after 6 months of frustration. Spa control and adjustment from anywhere around the home or in the world makes preparing or caring for the spa easier than ever, relatively easy to set up, a breeze to use. Nothing changed on my end, same router and distance. I think they must have updated the firmware or the app. ### 4/5 — Has worked great *2018-09-28, version 3.0* Once my spa was up and running I opened the app and configured it to attach to my network and I haven’t had a connection issue since except when the GFI test shut down the spa. I do wish I had better control of the lights so I could pick the setting I want and not have to go through all the choices every time. ### 4/5 — Update please *2017-02-06, version 2.2* Apple keeps telling me to have you update the app because it is slowing down the phone ### 3/5 — It’s time to update the app again *2020-01-25, version 3.0* It worked great for a few months then wouldn’t work at all- then the app got updated and it was great again. Then they updated the app again and while it still worked, I hated the weird dial for setting the temperature- I couldn’t get it where I wanted it- and for some reason they completely removed the ability to control the lights 😖 Still no control for the volume on the speakers (which I really really would like) And now.... the app won’t connect at all again - It is very frustrating- 😤🤬😤 ### 3/5 — The app works but needs updating *2019-02-16, version 3.0* I bought the WiFi adapter 6 months ago and installed it myself. Got the WiFi setup and online within a few minutes. The app is easy to use but it missing key features like away mode and a schedule so I can have my tub at the temp I want it when I use it the most. And a chemical reminder. Please get this updated ASAP.
