Bumblebee has saved me on numerous occasions. On the plane, on the train, when a temper tantrum was on the way. Not to long after I bought it, he had to take an emergency trip to the hospital and was scared and kept crying. When I turned on the "Bee Movie" and gave him my phone to watch it, I was so grateful to see him calm down. Thank you so much for making this app. My 11 month old grandaughter is captivated by the movie also. She saw a picture of a bee on a piece of paper yesterday and tried to push it to get it to "play." I wish you had other short movie apps with classical music. I would buy them in a heartbeat. The graphics and the music of this app are really great. Thanks!!!!! ### 5/5 — AMAZING!!! *2009-07-06* My wife instructed me to make sure i write this review. For some unknown yet amazing reason, my son, who is now seven months old has been mesmerized by the sound and the graphics of this app. He would be crying a storm beyond consolability, only to magically quiet down whenever we play the movie of this app. I can't put into words how much we appreciate this "secret weapon" we have that has made our long drives unbelievably, quiet and peaceful. How we wish the movie is longer or has an "auto replay" mode so we won't need to press "watch movie" again and again. One!" and pointed at the sign. He's not even 2 yet and he recognized the word "one" on the sign..... this App has really been helping him with recognizing words. :) He also loves to watch the little bee movie. ### 5/5 — Fabulous! *2009-06-04* My granddaughter loves this app. She plays the movie over and over and over. I especially like that there is only music in the movie part and we make up our own story as the movie progresses. Please make more apps like this. I would especially like to see a Lady Bug movie app and a kitten movie app. A little longer movie would be nice though. Oh, and the price is great too! ### 4/5 — Good job! *2009-05-07* Pictures and animations are excellent (except for the non-beating bumblebee wings), narrator's voice is excellent, "plot" is quite satisfactory, and for a beginning reader, this is a good length. Having a movie *and* an interactive book works well. I have a few quibbles about the music, though: The Rimsky-Korsakov "Flight of the Bumblebee" music (which accompanies the interactive book) is too soft, given the conditions under which it is likely to be played. Also, it starts over at the beginning of each page on which it plays at all, so you're unlikely to hear the whole thing, if a preschooler is in control. And if you stop to listen to the music, the screen will soon blank and the music will turn off. :-( Couldn't you wait until the music ends? Of course, most preschoolers probably won't wait long enough for the blanking screen to be a problem. ;-) The Tchaikovsky "Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairies" is fine. (Good volume, and since there is no interaction, the music is well matched to the action, and plays to the end.) ### 5/5 — Amazing *2009-04-14* Hearing my little monkey laugh and seeing her expression when she watches the video is priceless. A few times now this app has saved us from an unhappy 10 month old in the car. This app is SO WORTH THE MONEY. I would easily pay more for either of the two parts, the video or the book. I will buy any app like this put out by the same dev/Co. If I could add one option it would be to lock the screen or at least keep the controls from popping up when her little fingers touch the screen. More please! ### 5/5 — My daughter loves this book *2009-02-26* My 18 month old daughter loves this bumblebee book and asks to play with it whenever she sees my iPhone. I like that it has a mini movie that she can watch without me helping her and it keeps her busy for a few minutes. The book part of the app is a little beyond her, at this point, but she still likes to watch as I do it and has started following the prompts given by the voice over on the book like "touch the flowers." Teaching to follow instructions, another great benefit from an app that my daughter couldn't do without. Thanks!! ### 5/5 — Brilliant! *2009-01-21* My 15 week old daughter who gets easily bored by all manner of attention-grabbers absolutely loves this. I am forced to play it again & again & her reaction at the different plot changes is always the same at each transition point. She follows the bee(s) plot closely & gets a chuckle when it comes to look at her before heading out. I should add that the combination with the choice music also helps in the attraction for my daughter. At her age my daughter seems mostly into the movie section. This is the 1st review of an app of the many I have downloaded. It was so good so as to get me to write one. I would appreciate more stories (additional) of this kind. The other apps by same team are good but none as GREAT as this one. I am sure they can produce more stories of this kind given the execution shown here. But it doesn't work. No music. Freezes 10 seconds in. Emailed the developer three times over 3 weeks asking for assistance or a refund. Still no response. Do NOT waste your money on this or any other app by this developer. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2015-03-17* Absolutely awful! Payed for this app.. No way of escaping back to the menu once the touch book mode has begun. The "movie" is a one minute video of the animated bee. Not sure I think the ten pages is worth the money. Better off to find a more substantial book for kids. Seems more like a demo than a full fledged application. Both kids four and two asked if there was more to the story. ### 3/5 — Pretty good but quite short *2009-01-11* Not as great as Preschool Adventure, but still pretty good. My toddler especially likes pressing the hive to get the bees to come out. He doesn't really understand what pressing the words means. The movie is well done. Minus a star for the use of a very American word 'sidekick' in a really strong American accent. ### 3/5 — Good app for my 28mo old *2008-12-20* This is a pretty good app for my baby. he's only 18 months old, but he enjoy it. I expect it will be great for him in the next few months when he starts learning to talk. there's something seriously buggy though with the install. forced me to restore my phone, and i did do a reset after the app installed. my wife's phone switched emergency mode only after we installed. But after a sync, hers works fine. Just wondering why we both had problems with this app when we haven't had any other problems with other installs. I'd give it 4 stars except for the install process. ### 4/5 — Bee *2010-11-09* My IPod is named " bee" after this app. My 2 year old loves it and has for a year now. The movie was entertaining for her when she was too young to follow the words and utilize the interactive reading features. Now she knows how to navigate through the entire book and will say some of the words along with the story. I would love to see more apps. like this but a little longer. ### 4/5 — Buy This! You won't be disappointed *2009-07-08* I worked for a mobile game company for years without ever buying a game. On a lark, I bought this for $.99 and its probably the best $.99 I ever spent. The Nutcracker Suite played during the book option even got my daughter interested in classic music! My only complaint is the length. I'd pay 5X for a version with a longer story and another Touch Book chapter. Can't recommend it enough. Such a sweet story, beautiful graphics, with educational interaction for kids. All three of my children have been captivated by the movie section of this app from 3-4 months old. As they grew older they loved the story section especially tapping and counting the bees as they fly out of the hive to music. It's been a winning app in our family for years. Unless you're really cheap, I don't know why you wouldn't buy this app. Thank you!!!! I hope another app similar to this is made soon. Now, at 19 months, he still enjoys it!! The movie portion is still his favorite but now he's starting to show interest in the book portion where he can learn the words & count. $.99 folks!!! Simple and fun for your kids!!
