If I like them the first time and then pass them the second time, they are deleted from my like history. And the same person appears in both the roommate section and the friends section which makes no sense because there isn’t a way to differentiate between whether you got matched as a roommate or a friend yet. These aren’t minor issues so I’d give it a 4/5 for now because honestly the potential is super high and it’s already fulfilling some expectations :) ### 3/5 — Annoying AI Art Cluttering the App *2026-04-29* The app itself is okay I guess. I just wish it wasn’t heavily reliant on subscriptions in order to utilize it. I really like how to profiles are set up, but it is nearly impossible to get a match. The app is also filled with AI art which is very clunky and hard to look at. I wish the creator just paid real artists or didn’t include images at all. ### 3/5 — Meh *2026-04-28, version 2.6.8* I was loving the app until I got a roommate request on it and it gave me no option to accept or deny it and now I can no longer message people because that won’t go away ### 2/5 — school isn’t an option *2026-04-06, version 2.6.6* the app seems really cool, a friend showed it to me… the app doesn’t have my school :( ### 2/5 — very buggy doesnt work *2026-03-12, version 2.6.2* showed people from different schools even though i put where i was going and the building, asked me for information i already filled out with the same number, wouldn’t take my id to verify my profile, and now the app refuses to open and just shows me the pillow logo ### 3/5 — great but stopped working *2026-03-02* i loved the layout of this app—it is thorough and so helpful! i met my roommate off of it and i can already tell we’re gonna be best friends. however, for the past two months it will not let me get into the app. the loading screen sits there FOREVER and never ever loads, so i had to delete the app and redownload it. even then it didn’t work. i had to communicate w my roommate on other platforms which i don’t mind, but it’s annoying that the app refuses to work. **Developer response:** Hello, We’re super stoked you were able to find your roommate! Now though, I’ve redownloaded it to find a new roommate and it’s too glitchy to use. It won’t let me progress past a “Welcome Back” screen. There are no buttons to click to decide “how I should proceed”, just a grey box. When I opened the app it said welcome back coco so I tapped and it just shows me a blank screen and won’t work at all ### 3/5 — Verification *2025-10-19, version 2.4.8* Fun but the verification is annoying for people who don’t go by their legal name, whether that be a nickname or queer individuals who have a preferred name. Is there anyway to change that? ### 2/5 — Stuck on same page *2025-07-07* First, you can’t go back to edit your profile when something saves wrong, and the screen is stuck on “waiting for 0 more potential members” to unlock a community. Yes, ZERO. So the page is still stuck there, no community has been created, and the app doesn’t even let you swipe to a help center?? Please reach out at chris@bunky.me and we’ll get this sorted out for you. ### 2/5 — okay i guess *2025-05-03, version 2.4.2* the app itself is fun but none of my messages went through because of my internet but it drained all my hearts, i literally only sent ONE SINGULAR message and it didn’t let me send any more, even though my other ones didnt even actually send.. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — continues to charge me months after deleting my account *2026-07-09* I originally downloaded this in april to look for a roomate. i bought bunky pro and paid for it, and when I was done, i deleted my account. however, i have been charged twice now. i have gone out of my way to contact their customer support for months and have received emails saying that they cannot access the charges to cancel them because my account is unable to be located. i am at the point where I have to go through my bank to block the charges and possibly get a new card. ### 1/5 — “IsraelGPT code me a roommate finding app me and all my IDF buddies will love” *2026-04-06, version 2.6.5* No seriously. This entire app feels generated. From the icons, to the clunky buttons parts, and the setup. I saw every student on this app ( from my university ) in one ten minute sitting. Like I spent more time setting up than going through people. ### 1/5 — Won’t Load *2026-03-03* I made a profile on Bunky, however once I closed the app and tried to reopen it the screen was frozen on the page with the purple pillow. I tried restarting my phone, deleting the app, and getting more storage but none of that seemed to work and the app still would not open to the main page. Then once I tried to submit an inquiry online it said it looked like spam and would not submit. I cannot switch to the college. I’m going to now. The preferred names show up good on the screen with “matches” and “chats”, and their general profile, but it gives you their legal name once you click into the actual “DM” you have with them. The legal names also appear when you try to start a chat with them when they first appear on your feed I’m not sure if this is just a user-based thing, but I wanted to bring it to your attention just in case Anyways, thank you again for being responsive **Developer response:** Hello, thank you for the feedback, and sorry for the confusion. Users can verify with their preferred name by entering a nickname during verification or by going to Profile > Settings > Manage Account > Nickname. I’ve looked all over TikTok, Instagram, google, and even chat gpt trying to find a good college roommate app. I found ZeeMee but the app had a few glitches and nobody seemed serious about finding a roommate. Finally, I found out about Bunky through Instagram and after only a week, I’ve already found a great roommate! The app allows you to go into so much depth that it makes conversation with potential roommates very easy. I would 100% recommend this app to anyone looking for a roommate! ### 5/5 — This is the future *2025-12-18* I feel like this is sooooo much more efficient than Facebook or other random roommate sites.
