Using historical data, current data and computer projection models will create v.good weather forecasts as long as the location is not far away from the data source (the weather station) a 200nm distance will still be good The poor weather forecasts happens when the weather station is 1000’nds of nm away for the area of your boating activities, then the forecasters will have no option but to depend in available historical data and computer models to generate the forecasts. Apply this to my specific area of operations “The Red Sea” the forecast is more of an indicative data and allows off by 2-3 days. ### 5/5 — Great for Fishing *2024-05-05, version 4.0.1* This app does exactly as it claims, giving accurate weather forecasts for your chosen area! It’s has been as accurate as anyone could ask for, based on predicating Mother Nature! I rely on it for seas and wind and it’s rarely off by much! Will now use it on all our water-crossing trips. Sadly, app is not intuitive. I only use my boat about 6 months of the year. I’m not going to shell out for an annual subscription and £13.99 per month is not really affordable. The changes that I find during this fishing season make Bouy Weather unrecognizable to me. When you open the forecast, you can’t close the screen without having to end the app and relaunch. Seriously bad. ### 1/5 — Worst forecasting… ever *2023-07-07* As I type this, I’m watching 50cm rollers on shore with nearly 1meter swells in the bay of north lake superior in the Thunder Bay region. Meanwhile, the app says “0.1cm light swells and calm sea” I’ve had this all for a few years and it’s never been correct or even accurate to the current conditions. I assume the app gets the details from another service, so the app isn’t to blame. Who ever they get the data from is inaccurate for this region. ### 1/5 — Ripoff *2023-07-03, version 3.1.2* I was supposed to get a 7 day trial and it charged my credit card when I registered. Went to my subscription and there was no trial period.
