### 5/5 — Good

*2025-10-03, version 1.5.3*

Verry good game and fun to play

### 5/5 — Fantastic experience

*2025-09-08, version 1.5.3*

Super fun and intricate dungeon delving game with detailed character building in a Souls-like setting. Fantastic art and design. Very reasonable monetization.

### 5/5 — Love

*2025-08-18, version 1.5.3*

I’m a big fan of fear and hunger and dark souls, this is like that but with roguelike elements and it’s so fun !

### 5/5 — One of the best games available for iOS generally.

*2025-08-04, version 1.5.2*

Mobile gaming is one of the most disappointing things about having an iPhone, mostly because Apple pushes developers to opt for games that run off micro-transaction schemes.

Buried bones is a gem in this era. It has depth worthy of dumping real hours into, difficulty that forces the player to actually use their brain, and a size-able, dedicated community to work with while you learn the ropes. The only in-app purchases are for a currency that is non-essential and you’re given plenty free for anything that is essential.

The game plays like a fun roguelike with roguelite aspects (you advance between dungeon runs). There’s more variety of playstyles and builds than I can even hope to list here.

### 5/5 — The Bornes have been Buried yet again!!!!

*2025-07-30, version 1.5.2*

Play this or else you don’t like weird (mobile) fun.

### 5/5 — So far so good

*2025-06-08, version 1.5.0*

Fun, straightforward, and a good twist on game progression. I love the artwork too

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2025-04-23, version 1.4.4*

Amazing game

### 5/5 — Great game and difficult

*2025-03-27, version 1.4.4*

Game is great, add free and extremely difficult. I love how challenging it is and the dynamics and opportunity for growth is awesome.

### 5/5 — Deserves so much more

*2025-03-20, version 1.4.4*

Was a HUGE fan of the first game.

Everything about this game I love, I don’t even know where to begin.

Music, lore, gameplay, art, atmosphere, difficulty, customization, in game content, all a 10.

The only thing that it’s lacking is expanded social features. As well as some basic ones as well.

### 5/5 — Wonderful game

*2025-02-21, version 1.4.1*

Simple and entertaining

### 5/5 — Very hard, very strategy intensive, VERY fun

*2025-02-03, version 1.3.4*

I loved the original game. I remember how fun it was to find all the different pieces of loot, running through the endless dungeons and seeing the synergies of different perks! The second one I love due to the open map format, and the story behind everything. The bare bones aspect of some of the game features leaves certain things like the environment up to the imagination, and it’s just really quite a fun experience.

### 5/5 — So much quality content

*2025-01-30, version 1.3.4*

Game surpasses many mobile games design.

### 5/5 — Good game

*2025-01-27, version 1.3.4*

Really enjoying this game. Great art, great style. The only bad thing is when you see an enemy with a Chinese name… you know it’s going to be a difficult fight

### 5/5 — Crazy addicting

*2025-01-08, version 1.3.4*

This game is hard to put down

### 5/5 — Brilliant follow up!

*2024-12-30*

Another sublime game by the studio. All the best elements of a rogue lite rpg. Easy to play and hard to master but no matter what you are always progressing.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stupid

*2026-03-15, version 1.5.6*

Stupid

### 1/5 — Hardcore gimmick

*2025-01-21, version 1.3.4*

This game tries to pass itself off as a hardcore RPG. It’s just another strange gimmick game with terrible combat mechanics all designed to inhibit gameplay. Stay far away from this garbage.

Edit: Tried this again to see if it was just me, but I can confirm the “hardcore” element is nothing but gimmicky mechanics that make zero sense. I’d look elsewhere for actually developed and challenging games

### 1/5 — a poorly explained mess

*2024-09-26, version 1.2.5*

as the title says, the game throws a ton of incredibly poorly explained terms at you and often becomes more confusing with the explanation. it only becomes worse when you realize you need a flow chart to try to figure out what modifies what and in what situations. if this game got any less user friendly it would be actively strangling its users.

### 2/5 — Unresponsive

*2026-07-06, version 1.5.6*

Great game but nonstop technical issues on iPhone 16 Pro. Game becomes unresponsive every few minutes.

### 3/5 — Game keeps freezing

*2026-07-29, version 1.5.6*

I’ve loved this game since I first found it but the last couple days my game has been constantly freezing, forcing me to close the app and reopen it each time it happens. It can happen at any time and sometimes 30 seconds after I reopen the app. Wish this can be patched. iPhone 14 Pro

### 3/5 — Skill stocks

*2024-05-06, version 1.1.5*

Remove them literally nobody like them and ruin an otherwise good game

### 3/5 — Enjoyable but poorly balanced

*2024-02-05, version 1.0.10*

Beginning to mid of game, this is a very enjoyable roguelike experience with a lot of replayability. However, the end game is basically unbeatable, no matter how good your builds are. Even if you do 10k critical damage, you encounter monsters with 10 stacks of health and you run out of skill usage… therefore killing your character. Don’t get me started on 60k one hit KO from the last boss. Of all the playable classes and races, only a handful are actually viable.

### 3/5 — Need some basic UNLIMITED attack...

*2024-01-10, version 1.0.3*

While I appreciate most of the improvements of this sequel, having limited uses of all of my skills means I can run out of all skills in a prolonged boss battle with not even a very basic default skill to use when all others have run out.

### 4/5 — Fun game

*2025-07-10, version 1.5.1*

Good game. Is a bit confusing but more you play, the more you get the mechanics. Wish there was a a tutorial or some kind of walkthrough

### 4/5 — Skill consumption

*2024-01-30, version 1.0.9*

Can make the gameplay a little awkward. Perhaps would be better without.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Probably the best there is

*2026-09-02, version 1.6.0*

Honestly you get what you pay for. This is an absolute masterpiece of a game developed by a pure genius. I’m not being sarcastic, I really mean it. When it just came out I put about 70h into this game within the first week. I was playing at work, playing on my lunch break, playing while my girlfriend was talking to me. Everyone was very angry with me but I was very happy, I couldn’t get my eyes off screen. I couldn’t and I didn’t want to, I just wanted to keep going deeper into the dungeons, fight stronger enemies, develop novel builds with bizarre interactions. Absolutely would recommend this.

### 5/5 — Great deep game

*2026-08-21, version 1.5.6*

Lots to dig into and try

### 5/5 — tough

*2026-08-14, version 1.5.6*

there’s like a million ways to play. good luck have fun

### 5/5 — Amazingly complex game very fun to play and get to know

*2026-06-27, version 1.5.6*

Very fun game been here since bb1 and was hooked on that one too and the sequel has expanded on so much from the first game it’s very fun

### 5/5 — Niche and fun

*2026-03-24, version 1.5.6*

This game is a joy to play but I will have to worn the casual gamer that it is a journey of trial and error to find out how everything works. So if you like to hit your head against a wall like me, like most darksouls players they this game is a blast

### 5/5 — Very interesting

*2026-01-14, version 1.5.5*

Simple concept but fun and challenging at the same time

### 5/5 — Great title

*2026-01-12, version 1.5.5*

Didn’t think it was possible for the second to be better than the first but it’s simply amazing must play forsure

### 5/5 — love this

*2025-12-14, version 1.5.5*

my favorite mobile game, the first game is my second. please make more games dude.

### 5/5 — Worth the time if you like in depth game mechanics

*2025-12-03, version 1.5.5*

Love the music and mechanics of the game!

### 5/5 — Very time consuming roguelike

*2025-10-27, version 1.5.4*

I don’t post reviews often, but I really appreciate that the gold shards used to buy stuff from the store like skins and consumables, are obtainable in game.

It’s essentially as f2p as can be imo, and I am thinking of something I’d like to purchase in app to show support to the developers.
Amazing job on this one!
