That’s not the problem, the problem is that not all of the routes are on here. I would love to see routes like the B6, Bx24, and S79 on the list, but they aren’t. **Developer response:** This issue should be resolved now in the latest version. If you don’t see them in the available filter list, first tap “Select All” and scroll to the area where these buses would typically service. They should then become available in the filter list. ### 4/5 — Blue line -not good *2019-11-25* I like the app but the addition of that blue line is annoying. You actually have to close the app to make it go away and then reopen so try not to activate one of the bus lines by touching it. **Developer response:** Could you elaborate on what you dislike about the route line? Please share to feedback@mgsapps.com. Trying to understand so we can improve the app as necessary. Could you please email us at support@mgsapps.com with the details? ### 3/5 — Helpful, but delayed reports of bus position *2017-05-27* This is very helpful out, particularly for the bus line I most use, the M5 in Manhattan. The bus is quick, but arrives sporadically, and it's helpful to know where the next one is. Unfortunately, the bus is shown at the stop it last passed, or perhaps stopped at. If it bypasses several stops, the position on the live bus map is quite inaccurate. I just dashed across the 112th St to catch a bus that was shown at 120th. In sum, way better than nothing, but more accurate reporting would be a big help. ### 4/5 — Good app but needs one minor thing! *2017-04-01* This is a great app but needs improvement. The best part is that it gives your the bus number. What needs improvement is that it's delayed which will cause you to miss your bus. What it needs is a refresh button to know where the bus is and to see it moving instead of leaving the app and getting back on again to track the bus. ### 4/5 — Useful and simple *2016-04-20, version 1.3.9* Works well. I use this app every day and it keeps getting better and better. ### 5/5 — New update is great! *2015-02-28* This new update has seemingly sped up performance and the app runs even smoother than before. I have an iPhone 5S & my husband has a iPhone 6, and it works great on both phones. BusBus is really the best NYC bus app out there. I've tried them all, and this is the only one that is easy to use & completely reliable. I use this on an iPhone 5S, so for the reviewer who is saying that it's showing only 2 buses, it really means there really are only 2 buses (most likely if you're checking the app late at night or zoomed into an area with less bus traffic). The app is directly linked to MTA data so there's really never been any fault with the app itself. As a longtime NYC resident, I highly recommend using it, especially in the wintertime!! I love being able to wait indoors somewhere and run out to the bus just in time. ### 5/5 — Excellent app *2015-02-25, version 1.3.3* Very accurate. I will just cause you to miss the bus or wait for a bus that’s never coming. Over the few years I used the PAID version the lag time has gotten bigger and bigger. When I think the bus is 4 blocks away from my stop it already past me by about 3 blocks. ### 1/5 — Trash *2016-09-16, version 1.4.3* Pointless app ### 1/5 — Useless *2015-08-10, version 1.3.6* The map doesn't refresh when you are looking at it? Tried to use this app... it was more useful to use my eyes to find the bus. Furthermore, it doesn't tell you where the bus will go... just where it is. But what really really doesn't work here is that the font on the bus icons is just too small to read!!! it's useless!! ### 1/5 — Not helpful *2015-07-31, version 1.3.6* Most people travel around knowing how many minutes it take to get someplace like a certain bus stop. This app doesn't have it. A non-accurate map of where a bus was 4 minutes ago is useless for making it to a bus stop before that bus gets there. But I have noticed not all busses are outfitted for GPS. Or if they are, it must be turned off. Many times a bus is mislabeled (tagged) or it doesn't appear on the app at all. ### 2/5 — Too laggy to be useful *2025-12-11* I used to like this app to see approaching buses that don’t always come up on Google maps, or to double check Google/MTA. Now the map is so slow to load buses, there’s no visual to show if things are loading or live, and when they do show up the buses appear several stops behind their true location. Love the concept, but it’s not working. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best visual bus app *2025-12-08* Not a frequent app reviewer, but this is the BEST visual for buses. Don’t need to know the numbers nor the stops. Just see buses where you are or where you want to go. Simple straight forward. Visually simple. This app is essential! ### 5/5 — My Favorite Bus App! *2021-10-11* It appears this app is unique in one way. My husband is a bus driver and sometimes I want to know how close he is to his swing or short break if I need to call him. This app not only shows you the bus number but also the run number identifying the particular bus driver (if you know their run number). I only wish that you can tag a bus to make it highlighted or a different color during their duration so that I don’t have to keep tapping on all the busses to see the particular bus information I’m trying to find. ### 5/5 — My review *2020-10-20* Good morning this app is giving me some trouble because I can’t get to see the buses right now and I was planning on doing a bus marathon and writing them down . Ayden Merced ### 5/5 — Blue Route line *2020-01-03* I actually like that blue line, it’s especially good later on at night or early in the morning when there are fewer buses out there on the road, you can go up and down the route quickly to see just how far that one or two buses that are out there on the route are. I am actually a NYC MTA Bus Operator with over 35 years of service and i also use the app for the job and we use it in another way, when we have to relieve another bus operator out there on the road that driver has a certain run number on that route so when we hit on one of those buses on that route not only can we see the bus number we can also see the run number which means we know exactly were the bus and driver is that we have to relieve and we know approximately were that bus is supposed to be on the route so we can see if the bus is going to be here on time or late and if he is going to be very late and we are near the depot or by the terminal we can go and get another bus from the dispatcher which helps the service out there. The blue line helps a lot especially when we have more than one route on the map so I love the app and the blue line, The only thing I just switch my phone from an iPhone 6 to an iPhone 11 Pro Max and for some reason I can’t get the blue line anymore can you please help me and my co bus operator and see if this can be fixed, Thank you very much **Developer response:** If you’re still having issues with the blue line loading on your iPhone, please contact us at support@mgsapps.com ### 5/5 — Greatest App of All Time *2017-12-13* 100% Amazing app and works almost every time. They just released iPhone X support and that was the only problem I had.
