### 4/5 — From a Bee’s Perspective

*2025-06-14*

I have been a bee for about 3 months now, and so far I love it! I have met lots of amazing families, and the Hive is very welcoming and helpful. Babysitting wise, I would 1000% recommend this app. The only reason I would give 4 stars instead of 5, is because of the quality of the app itself. The app runs very slowly (it takes forever for everything to load). I don’t always receive notifications right away, which isn’t helpful when trying to communicate with parents, and when trying to book jobs I often have to wait long periods of time for everything to load, and by then the job has already been taken. The app updates regularly, which in hindsight is great, but it makes me go through the entire log in process every time (not horrible, just time consuming. I just think they could use a better tech development team. All of that aside, I love Busy Bees!

### 3/5 — Like the idea but not ideal in booking process

*2025-06-06*

I like the concept for this app however, I don’t like that when you request a job a sitter can automatically accept. To me, it would make more sense for multiple sitters to be able to accept and once you talked with them and reviewed their references you could choose the best fit for your family. I wouldn’t allow someone to watch my child without at least speaking to them first or reviewing references which you cannot view on their profile. You cannot see reviews from previous families that use that specific Sitter either which I think would ease the minds of many parents. Concept is great but not so much the execution. Also keep in mind that once the job is accepted you’ll have to pay a cancellation fee, so being first time users I did not know the bee can accept without you agreeing and speaking with the bee and then when I canceled, I was charged. Not ideal.

### 3/5 — App improvements

*2025-02-28, version 30.8.1*

Once we are matched with a bee we should be able to look at their profile to see who will be coming to watch the baby. I find that to b a terrible design. It would be better if we were able to select the person based on their availability with a selection of profiles.

### 4/5 — Fun and flexible job!

*2024-05-17*

I am not recently started as a Bee as a second job and love the fun, easy, and accessible opportunities to earn some extra cash. I have connected with so many amazing families connecting with a variety of energetic and creative personalities. I have loved getting to meet all the fur babies each family has as well. Being able to quickly pick up a job through the app that works with my schedule is the most appealing part of joining. I add a job before work, after work, or on a day off and am easily able to see how far I am away. They only negative is as a babysitter for various families prior to Busy Bees it is clear they do not offer fair payment to their Bees in comparison to what families are paying the company. However families are typically very generous in adding an extra tip🍯. Overall love being a BEE but would love an increase of money in my pocket rather than the Queen Bees

### 5/5 — Organized, easy, I LOVE it!

*2024-03-24, version 30.5.1*

I’ve been a babysitter (Bee) for Busy Bees for about a month now and I love it! The app organizes available jobs by date and time and accepting one is as easy as a couple clicks. The app also notifies you when there are new jobs up for grabs so you never miss a chance to earn some extra cash. Chatting with families is also super convenient on the app. This feature makes me feel super confident going into jobs because I already know what to expect. Keep up the great work, Busy Bees!

### 5/5 — Great organization and opportunity!

### 5/5 — What’s The Buzz?

Busybees is the best babysitting app! You’re able to find great childcare for affordable costs. All busybees are vetted to ensure all families feel safe when inviting a sitter into their homes. I personally work for busybees and love the endless opportunities to grow and connect with loving families.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Racism

*2026-03-02, version 30.10.3*

The moment I mentioned I wasn’t from this country the interviewer tone of voice had changed and nothing I was saying was relevant to her. Compared to the beginning of the interview when she was invested in what I was saying. She kept making weird faces at me as I spoke. Even if I was unqualified she made sure to make me feel less than then at the end of the interview I told her thank you for her time and tried to shake her hand but she just processed to open the door rejecting my gesture. I think she was looking for a lighter complication and the way she conducted the interview is that this company is one to be diverse.

### 1/5 — Good if you’re rich

*2025-09-10, version 30.9.4*

High prices and low quality

### 1/5 — HORRIBLE

*2025-04-17*

I was previously a Busy Bees sitter for three years and recently moved to Boise, where they’ve just launched a new market. I reached out to reactivate my account and was asked to re-interview, which I had no issue with. However, after deciding not to move forward for personal reasons, I was shocked to see they charged my old card on file—without consent or any communication. This is absolutely fraudulent behavior.

To make matters worse, I contacted them immediately and was ignored for over 24 hours. The Boise market owner completely disregarded my calls and texts until I followed up the next day. This kind of unprofessionalism is unacceptable.

Unfortunately, this isn’t new—it mirrors my past experience with Busy Bees. They only respond when it benefits them and ignore everything else. On top of that, they take a large cut of your earnings. You’re better off working directly with families and avoiding this company altogether. The lack of professionalism and shady billing practices should be a red flag to anyone considering working with or using Busy Bees.

### 1/5 — Unfair

*2025-03-23, version 30.8.1*

I was excited to join Busy Bees because of my extensive experience caring for children of all ages, including newborns. However, despite clearly stating my background with infants during my interview—including professional nannying and years of babysitting experience—I was restricted from working with children under 48 months. This policy felt unfair, especially since I left my church childcare role to work here.

The company refused to reconsider, even though infants are my specialty, and the six-month waiting period for a review was far too long. Ultimately, I had to leave because I felt undervalued and unable to fully use my skills. I wouldn’t recommend this job to experienced caregivers who want to work with a variety of age groups, as their policies seem rigid and don’t take individual experience into account.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2024-06-25*

I don’t like it it’s been almost a week and I can’t still get in talking about reviews 🙄 like come on it’s a week now fix your appp cause i haven’t seen any app that takes so long.

### 1/5 — Incredibly unreliable

*2023-11-13*

Busy bees is by no means a way to make consistent income, but I have been incredibly disappointed by how many times families have cancelled on me (over 6+ times). I try to find a job at least once a week, and have been cancelled on 5 times in a row (always within 24 hours of when the job is supposed to start). I always book these jobs at least a week in advance, and the families never respond to my message either. I understand plans can change and people may not need a sitter, but with no communication is disrespectful. My time is valuable, and I’m relying on these jobs to make some money as a college student. I will not be working with busy bees anymore. It’s so unreliable and the lack of communication from parents is not okay. I understand people are busy or don’t always see the notification right away, but that is no excuse.

### 1/5 — Unprofessional Job Interview

*2023-05-17*

Very unprofessional when it came to the job interview. Head lady showed up five minutes before the interview and then did my interview and the other random girl sitting next to me in the lobbies interview at the same time as mine because she showed up late. I had a resume printed and was dressed in business casual attire where the other girl was dressed in a crop top and jean shorts. The whole interview was basically focussed on the other girl and her responses as she got to elaborate her ideas first. Not to mention, she did not take my resume or ask me any questions really about my skillset and/or past work experiences. Kind of happy I was not accepted as this frustrated me for the day being!

### 1/5 — Cancelled last minute

*2021-11-19, version 21.1.0*

Our first time using the service, the sitter cancelled a job booked the week prior with less than 12 hours notice. There was no email, no apology, no explanation, no phone call…. Just an app notification that it had been cancelled and that Busy Bees would try to fill it. Then I got an email saying they couldn’t fill it, and to make sure *I* book sooner next time! I realize this was an automated message, but come on! I replied to this email with my frustrations and nobody replied. This service is useless to my family if there’s no accountability for the sitters to show up.

### 1/5 — Try free services on Facebook instead of busy bees

*2021-11-13, version 21.1.0*

I’ve used busy bees a few times throughout my 6 years as a parent. It’s always a last resort. While the sitters have been nice enough, I’ve never been able to get the same sitter, even though this is something the company claims. Also beware of cancellation charges—I was charged $40 for a late cancellation that I had no control over. The cancellation fee close to the amount I would have paid for the sitter. When I contacted the company about my issue, twice, I never received any response. So unprofessional. There are so many other ways to find good sitters, less expensive ones too.

### 1/5 — Don’t go to interview if you haven’t had a nanny job....

*2019-10-26*

I had my interview with 2 other girls at sip coffee shop where it was super loud to begin with and I couldn’t even really hear the girl talking to me and I felt like I had to talk louder than I usually do. The 2 girls I was with had done nanny jobs and lots of babysitting... I told them I grew up “popcorn” babysitting my whole life. I don’t know if this is the reason but they didn’t hire me which I’m not mad about but they just said I needed to gain more experience? So me taking classes growing up to learn how to babysit and babysitting pretty much every weekend throughout high school and even after isn’t enough? Compared to 2 girls who had steady nanny jobs ya makes sense I wouldn’t be the one to get it! Just is dumb knowing I’m qualified for something and not being able to get the job that shouldn’t be that hard to get since they can hire as many people as they want!

### 5/5 — Busy Bees is coming to San Diego

*2024-05-17*

Busy Bees is an on demand babysitting app connecting vetted families with experienced, background checked, CPR certified babysitters. I love that Busy Bees is local and grows its customers by referral thru friends and family making it the safest, most reliable network. The company is local to Phoenix, AZ and recently announced its expansion to San Diego, CA this summer 2024! Busy Bees has sweetened the babysitting experience for both parents and sitters. Parents rely on the company’s in person interviews to attract reliable, exceptional childcare workers. Paired with its an easy to use app and ability to communicate with a Busy Bee team members both text or call makes for an impressive service parents in Phoenix rave about!

### 5/5 — I love being a “bee”!

*2024-05-17, version 30.5.9*

I have served as a babysitter for over a year with Busy Bee’s. It is an amazing community to be apart of. I have met some amazing families along the way and helped serve with countless church staff. The flexibility of being a “bee” is unmatched. The Busy Bee’s admin has always been responsive, helpful, and accommodating for any needs or questions. I have referred my sisters and many friends to work here.
