## What is Busy Dad Training?

The Busy Dad app gives you everything you need to succeed on the Busy Dad Program. Max Edwards' burpee-based training system for people who want serious results without living in a gym.

AI-POWERED REP COUNTING
Prop up your phone, get in frame, and train. The app's camera-based Auto Tracking counts your burpees in real time using on-device AI, no wearable needed, and nothing is recorded or uploaded. Just you, your phone, and an honest rep count.

TRAIN WITH YOUR WATCH
Pair your Apple or Garmin watch and see live reps, heart rate and calories on your wrist. Start, pause and save workouts from the watch. Everything syncs with your phone automatically.

LEVEL UP
Work your way through the program's levels, from your first 6-count burpee to Graduation. Hit a new level and Max himself congratulates you with a video on your home screen.

SMART PROGRAMMING
Every session comes with a personalised rep target, calculated by an algorithm built on thousands of real Busy Dad workouts. It reads your recent form, pushing you when you're climbing, holding steady through a plateau, easing you back in after a break, and forecasts your progress over the coming weeks so you can see exactly where you're headed.

INTERVAL TIMER, BUILT FOR BURPEES
Program your session with built-in or custom timers, audio cues, and a voice that counts your reps out loud. With Auto Tracking on, it announces every rep the camera sees.

FOLLOW-ALONG WORKOUTS & TUTORIALS
Train alongside follow-along videos, and use the embedded tutorials whenever you need a form check or a refresher on the fundamentals.

STRAVA
Connect Strava and your finished workouts post automatically along with your reps, duration, comment and RPE included.

THE BUSY DAD ARMY
Every user is on the community page: troubleshoot, encourage, commiserate, connect. Climb the leaderboards, share your milestones, and pool knowledge with practitioners at every level.

PLAN IT, THEN DO IT
Schedule your weekly workouts, set goals, and enable reminders so you never lose the thread.

### 5/5 — Simple. Effective. Empowering

*2026-08-29*

This app, the community, and the progressions make becoming a burpee practitioner simple to achieve. I cannot fully express what a thrilling sensation it is to knock out more burpees in a session than I ever thought possible. It is an exhilarating and empowering feeling!

### 5/5 — This is the one

*2026-08-09*

Alright, you got me. I’m sold. This is the one.

I quit the gym in college because of multiple back and other joint injuries. It was only a matter of time before I ended up with a permanent injury. But I miss it.

I tried the bodyweightfitness subreddit, but found the recommended routine boring. I’d finish a workout tired but unfulfilled.

Over the years I bounced between workout regimens, never enjoying the activities nor feeling I was building functional strength.

In 2022 I found this workout on Reddit. I enjoyed its time and intensity, but I was inconsistent and never tracked my progress (nor adhered to a schedule). I made progress, but very slowly.

Then I see this app on a social media feed?

Golly Bob howdy. Rep recording? Weekly calendar? Visuals?

And that green pacing bar? What an absolute thing of beauty. I was able to pace myself AND break PRs. It turns out I was hitting the throttle too hard in the beginning and gassing myself out before the ten-minute mark. Pacing is what I NEEDED. Now I just need time and consistency. This app will facilitate that.

So yeah, I’m sold. You got me.

### 1/5 — Needs a free mode

*2026-08-08*

I’ve already been burnt paying a subscription on a fitness app with no free mode. Never again. Literally useless app.

**Developer response:** The app does give you a one week free trial where you can test it out without paying anything. We also have promotional codes that you should keep an eye out for if you want to trial it for longer. Hope we see you soon and take care!

### 5/5 — New update is awesome

*2026-07-18*

The new rep counting feature has been a game changer for me. I also happen to be a Garmin user, so starting it on the watch is also super handy. $9.99 a month is worth it with these and hopefully more upcoming features. It would be nice to be able to project your HR on the screen of my phone.

### 5/5 — Essential

*2026-06-23*

Great complement to a simple and effective program. Give it a shot.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-05-24, version 1.5.1*

My husband has really enjoyed the community side of the app :)

### 5/5 — Fantastic fitness app!

*2026-05-24, version 1.5.1*

Finally a fitness app that feels built for real dad life. Quick workouts, easy tracking, and the timer/logging features make staying on programme effortless!

### 5/5 — Awesome and time efficient

*2025-12-07*

I stumbled upon the YouTube channel a while ago and did a few of the follow along videos. Great way to get a workout in especially when you’re strapped for time or space I want to do a work out from home. The coach comes across super nice and mellow and his calm demeanor is super motivating in the follow alongs. I was also astonished at how quickly you can progress. definitely give the free trial a spin if you are into this kind of workout!

### 5/5 — It work if you turn up!

*2025-12-03, version 1.5.1*

I fallowed max on you tube before the app, I use this for strength training for mountain bike racing, the timer and videos are very good but downloading them is the best way to use the videos, it takes about 14 weeks to really notice a change in body shape from average fitness to lean muscle, I was 71kg to 65kg topped out at 450 pushups a week or pumps, but I have hurt my lower back at work again lifting timber so will probably pause for a while, the 20 minute workout rule is super affective, I can workout and cook rice for dinner at the same time no equipment. Everyone has 20 minutes no excuses! Just get it done!

### 5/5 — Changed Approach to Fitness

*2025-10-31*

I got this app to support Max Edwards, I used to go by a simple kitchen timer but this app’s timer really helps with even pacing and progress tracking. 100% recommend to anyone serious with improving overall fitness, wellbeing, endurance, and strength.
