About
Busybody captures screenshots of any URL and shows them on your Home Screen in a widget. It refreshes about every ten minutes while you use your device. In the app, zoom and crop so the widget shows exactly the region you care about. Open the app to scrub through past captures. Everything runs locally on your device.
WHY IT EXISTS
Some sites are worth checking often. I know I check sites like Y Combinator's "Hacker News" and similar sites several times a day. Also, government portals without dedicated apps. Forums, niche news, or status and “is it down?” pages. Busybody is for glancing at the Home Screen and seeing the current page right away. This is a great way to opportunistically absorb information without a heavyweight browser experience.
HOW IT WORKS
Add a URL in the app. Adjust the zoom and viewport to frame exactly what matters. Add a widget to your home screen. Tap the widget anytime to jump straight to that site in the app. The app allows you to scrub through previous screenshots.

NO BACKEND
Everything runs on your device. URLs and screenshots stay local. No accounts and no servers.
I am Peter, an indie developer in Portland, Oregon. I built Busybody because I wanted a widget that shows a website at a glance without opening Safari. The name is a nod to a nosy neighbor who keeps tabs on everything—that is the idea.
