### 4/5 — New User Wishlist

*2026-09-03, version 6.6.4*

I use the app only on my iPhone. Sometimes I have 12 or more events that I need to shift to 1-3 days forward. Unfortunately that requires you to edit each event one at a time. A group “move” would be nice.

### 2/5 — Issues with Reminders synchronization

*2026-07-20, version 6.6.2*

Inconsistent synchronization with Reminders in iOS 26.5.X.

### 2/5 — Reminders does not work with BusyCal

*2026-07-18, version 6.6.2*

I switched from using Fantastical to BusyCal, but when I tested it, i did not test the Reminder integration/sync feature, but when I decided to move forward getting the iOS app, I noticed that this feature is horrible.

### 2/5 — Good features but buggy

*2026-07-16*

Buggy drag and drop of events in week view, cannot select events just after midnight, when biometric unlock fails the password fallback doesn’t work. Sorting and display of overlapping events is inconsistent. Not very responsive, as scroll animations have fade-out behaviour and you have to wait for it to fully complete before adding/editing events. Missing features to copy paste events multiple times (i.e. drag over days to paste many). It seems like maybe the developer mostly optimises for the Mac companion.

### 3/5 — It’s lagging at every point

*2026-07-16*

Overall good app but it’s not running as smooth as other calendar apps. Lagging at every point which can be felt.

### 3/5 — No Attachments or Templates

*2026-07-05, version 6.6.2*

BusyCal is it very visually appealing app. It is missing a couple of key features. The ability to add attachments, this is available in almost every calendar app, including Apple and templates.
I feel these items would make this the perfect app. I have written the developer and was told there was no plans to add these features. I think that’s a big missed opportunity. One of the best features is the ability to link Contacts to Events and Task. This is a natural progression to be able to reach out to someone in an Event or Task should you need to contact them.

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2026-06-10, version 6.6.2*

No matter how many times I uncheck calendars, they show back up in my widgets and on my watch within a day. I bought this app for those exact things but all I see is my company’s OOO calendar no matter how many times I uncheck it so I’m disappointed. I love the MacOs app but this one seems to be a waste of $10

### 3/5 — Great app but missing key features

*2026-05-28, version 6.6.2*

### 4/5 — It is very good,but very expensive.

*2026-05-27*

They sneak you in the front door with £9.99 iPhone app but then charge £60 for the Mac app! I can’t quite believe how expensive it is, and can’t justify that when other options are free or far cheaper. Apple calendar is my go too as it’s ubiquitous and simple. I WOULD use BusyCal on Mac but I just cannot justify that price. But once you start using BusyCal you want to use it across devices…

### 4/5 — Really clean and useful calendar app

*2026-05-22*

Really clean and lovely app. I tried a lot of different calendar apps because I’m very picky with widgets, and this app was the one that mostly gave me what I wanted and didn’t lock basic features like travel time behind price gouging subscriptions or scrape every bit of information the app could get out of me. Love how this is a one time payment, as well!

The one thing I would like to request though that would make this app 5 stars for me: an “agenda” widget that also has the heat map. In short, I would LOVE if the “Events List” Widget also showed the events that are happening tomorrow and the next day. The “Events List” widget feels very empty at the end of the day and I like seeing tomorrows events in the evening so I remember to set my alarm clock (I use the world’s most stupid bedside alarm bc I no longer trust Apple alarms).

Thank you for making this app!

### 5/5 — Muito bom

*2026-05-16*

Este app é incrível e está servindo muito bem no meu Homelab com calendários e lembretes autohospedados usando o Radicale. Recomendo a todo mundo. Se existe algo que posso pedir é, traduzam o app para Português do Brasil.

### 2/5 — Great product but...

*2026-05-13, version 6.6.1*

The product is great except it doesn't sync between Apple devices automatically. One needs to sync the device where a reminder has been modified (added or modified) and then sync the other device so they are both in sync. I have a Mac, an iPad and an iPhone and the synchronisation is a nightmare. Unless I am missing something in the settings, using BusyCal brings more issues than solutions. This sync issue should be addressed and sorted out for this product to keep its attractiveness.

### 4/5 — Mac u. IOS Version sollten funktionsgleich sein

*2026-05-11*

### 5/5 — The Best Calendar App

*2026-05-11, version 6.6.1*

BusyCal is easily the best calendar app on the market. It's constantly being updated, it can be highly customized via its settings for your liking, the developer is extremely responsive, the widgets are clean and interactive, tons of integrations... If you haven't given it a shot and you're reading this right now then download it and take it for a spin. 🤙

### 5/5 — Great Calander

*2026-05-11, version 6.6.1*

Fabulous and easy to use!

### 5/5 — Excellent tasks and events tracking

*2026-05-09, version 6.6.1*

Great combining events and todos, both scheduled and unscheduled. Easy to see as much as you want, easy to move, change, group, and prioritize. Much better than using both Calendar and Reminders, though all can still be used.

### 5/5 — Powerful well supported app

*2026-04-28, version 6.6.1*

Excellent calendar and planner. I use this on macOS as well. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — An impressive business

*2026-04-24, version 6.5.92*

I love the app and recommend it every chance I get. But it is how the developers have treated me as a customer that has really impressed me. BusyCal is constantly improving. I have had two technical glitches. I emailed the BusyCal helpdesk and I got a personalized helpful response every time. Honestly, I hope this company makes more apps because they deserve as much business as they can get.

### 4/5 — Tasks are registered twice.

*2026-04-22*

When you register a task from your iPhone or iPad, the same task will be registered twice. I ask for improvement.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — doesn't support busy/free field for events

*2026-06-17, version 6.6.2*

doesn't support the busy/free toggle for events; also doesn't support orion or default browser, only safari google etc

### 1/5 — Please read BusyCal is King..but

*2026-04-17, version 6.5.92*

I am trying to bring attention to how Apple flat out has their hands in the spines of apps in their store. Every so
Often, you might get interrupted with a demand for the “app specific password”- causing you
Also
To
Have to set it
Up again- and
All your devices will repeatedly
Interrupt you two or 3 times which can
Take
Days
To
Get
Through. “Sandboxing”
Is Apples way of
Inserting
“Friction” at as many points

As possible.

There are other triggers and you
May be lucky
And
Not encounter it if
You have small security footprint and
Other triggers.

BusyCal
Is
The best product by far and I have used
Them ALL, 14
Of
Them.

### 1/5 — Crashes on launch

*2026-03-29, version 6.5.7*

The devs updated this app 5 times in the last *week*, now it crashes on launch and is effectively unusable. iOS and iPadOS, latest release versions of everything. Ugh.

### 1/5 — Apple Watch Issue

*2026-03-25*

The latest update broke the apple watch widget.

### 1/5 — Too Buggy

*2026-01-24, version 6.5.0*

Update 24 Jan 2026: I keep coming back to the app, re-installing as the User Interface is best. But syncing is still a disaster. eg add a new Reminder and even the local sync to Apple Reminders didn't work until BusyCal terminated and restarted when it sync'd. Then worked for a bit and stopped. Madness where any new event or reminder has to be double checked on different devices and "nursed through". Events to iCloud syncing to Apple Calendar similar issues. If they could get syncing 100% then it would be massively ahead of competitors but that probably means EventKit that they hate so much. They could just do an EventKit sync separate from iCloud and limit functions (remembering 99% of users are fine with other competitors who use that sync system.

Update 26 Feb 2022: Good but very buggy. In particular Reminders is a disaster. Fails to sync (even on manual sync); Marking repeating reminder marks all future occurrences as complete but mot the one now due.Lack of push updates on iCloud (something most other 3rd party calendar apps have) is bad (updates on other devices might not get through for some time).

There are much better offerings (incl built-in apps) until bugs fixed and proper push updates implemented.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-11-22, version 6.3.3*

I have been a busycal software user since the week after it was initially released. It was initially great for the first couple of years, but it has deteriorated beyond recognition. If you’re smart, buy something else.

### 1/5 — All Data Lost After 18.7 Update

*2025-09-21, version 6.3.0*

Lost all data on iPhone 13 after 18.7 update - iPhone 16e & iPad Pro are OK. I’m a paid customer! I’m running latest update on BusyCal.

### 1/5 — Crash

*2025-09-06*

Keeps crashing every time I open it

**Developer response:** Please kindly delete and reinstall the app, contact us if this persists: support@busymac.com

### 1/5 — Collapsed!

*2025-08-20, version 6.2.3*

This has been my go to calendar app for years and in the past few days, it seems to have imploded. There is no info about how on Monday, it only crashed, yesterday it wouldn’t keep any of my settings, and today it’s totally glitched out. I am super frustrated. And yet, each of these days, there has been an update to download without any mention of problems they are fixing.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2025-05-08, version 6.1.1*

Just wasted $9.99, not saving anything unless you give full permission to your email account, like excuse me? When finally signed in, entered a task for tomorrow, the task disappeared in a minute. Entered again, disappeared again. Total scam , fix it! Plus, too complicated,
Not user friendly!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Support was amazing

*2026-08-27*

I've been using the desktop version for years and finally switched back to an iPhone and as it's calender is lacking things 😳decided to buy BusyCal. The features were as I expected from using the desktop but I had a problem with syncing and decided to reach out to support and to be honest, wasn't expecting a helpful response like so many apps. But how wrong I was, the initial response was quick and although it took a few days to figure out what it was, they did 🎉. This is how support should be. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Best calendar app in town

*2026-08-18*

BusyCal is truly a joy to use, both on mobile and desktop. The only thing I wish the developers would add is support for smart filters in the mobile app, just like on desktop.

### 5/5 — Used for years, continues to delight

*2026-08-07, version 6.6.4*

Have use this app for many years, probably very close to its original release. Endless options for keeping track of multiple calendars, one of my favorites might be the flexibility in setting alarms. And, support is superb (to be clear, any problems have been on my end with failing hardware or requiring hand-holding during migration.) If you are simply living off of the Apple calendar, you are missing out!! Six+ stars for BusyCal.

### 5/5 — Love BusyCal!

*2026-08-04, version 6.6.4*

I love using this app!! Highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-07-28, version 6.6.3*

After updating their app to perform a well needed background refresh, the app became usable again. The features are second to none and I highly recommend it.
For the creator of the app, don't slip again on the background refresh. It took you ages to fix this issue and made then the app almost unusable.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-07-07, version 6.6.2*

Fantastic app, but pls add Russian language support. TY

### 5/5 — One of my Top-5 Apps

*2026-06-02*

The features in BusyCal are amazing. Apple tends to “appropriate” many developers’ features… for some Godforsaken reason, Apple went backward here (got rid of “Tasks”, initially released in iCal back in the Panther days. They (Apple) took away this functionality, almost as soon as they released it in a subsequent version (Tiger, i think), and BusyCal has been providing it since. Sadly, Apple keeps restricting their API… or this app would be even MORE functional. Excellent job over there as BusyCal . The ONE thing i wish they would do is update there website (particularly the user-guide) to reflect their updated interface whenever they make those changes it appears that many of the user guide pages are several versions old, still.

I’m pretty sure I am not taking full advantage of all this app can achieve, regarding the “Tasks” side of things. The ability to generate Custom Smart Lists — then repurpose them is under-utilized in my ADD world. Worth the cost for sure.

### 5/5 — As good as it gets

*2026-05-27, version 6.6.2*

I stumbled upon this app having used Fantastical, Calendars and numerous others too. This has blown me away with is many, many small details that can really make for a top design.

Widgets are equally great and plentiful. It integrates well with Todoist, Reminders and the like very well too.

Anyone who pays for Fantastical and the like should really look at this App and save yourselves a ton of cash.

What this App does is nail it period.

### 5/5 — Très personnalisable et en français

*2026-05-25*
