## What is Butterflies & Day Moths UK?

ALL British butterflies PLUS the most common day-flying moths are here in this app. Day moths are as bright and colourful as any butterfly, so they are an essential addition - don’t miss out by buying an app without them! The information on each species includes a variety of photos showing males, females, upper and undersides and any variations, plus a distribution map and notes on appearance, habitat, favourite nectar source, distribution and rarity status.

As with other Spiny Software nature guides, extensive record keeping features are included, with iCloud syncing to keep your data safe. Note the location, time and date of the sighting, make notes, view your records on a map or as a list, and download as an Excel file. 

You can even add your own photos to the app to compliment the images provided and to really make the app your own! 

The app also includes a photo-based Butterfly Finder to help identify mystery butterflies using a combination of filters including details of appearance, location, altitude and date.

I’ve enjoyed this app for a while and am really pleased to have this guide to British butterflies and moths. I would have loved to be able to identify the relevant caterpillars as well, but sadly it seems that is too much to ask.

I have 5 Spiny apps and they all use the same interface which is very easy to use. Species can be identified and sightings logged with your own pictures. I especially like the ability to compare pictures of different species to help identify what you are looking at. It would be even better though, if it were possible to flick through all the pictures available and not just the ones selected. E.g. you may wish to compare the top of a butterfly or mushroom, the underneath and then the distribution.

Wiederum eine sehr schöne und gut gemachte App von iSpiny! Kann allen empfohlen werden, die zum Beispiel in Great Britain in Urlaub sind und dort Schmetterlinge beobachten und bestimmen möchten.
