However when renting my own items out, there is no option to receive an email notification alongside a push notification. Frustrating as these some times get missed in the flurry of notifications on my phone and then I miss rental requests. Please change this BR! 🙏 ### 3/5 — Please deliver clean! *2026-03-17, version 4.5.0* My only criticism of By Rotation is that it is not mandatory for lenders to send clothing items dry cleaned to renters. It does suggest in the FAQ section of the site that all clothing should be delivered, having been cleaned, by the lender. My most recent purchase arrived NOT cleaned. Aside from the fact I had to have it cleaned myself at my own expense, it’s a deal breaker for me wearing clothes that have not been cleaned since the previous wear. ### 2/5 — UX *2026-01-21, version 4.1.5* It’s a great idea but the UX needs work ### 2/5 — The app doesn’t work *2025-12-14, version 4.0.5* I so love the idea but the app is just the worst hard to use, dead ends and loops that make you give up 😞 ### 2/5 — App won’t even work anymore *2025-12-01, version 4.0.5* At first I lived this all but quickly got disappointed. The first use I had no problems and had a great rental. Second time around I needed to update my payment method and the app kept crashing. I even reached out to them on social media and didn’t get a reply. Very very disappointed with them, and not even a response… ### 1/5 — Wasn’t able to even rent *2025-09-19* Signed up and was excited to rent my first dress with rotation (I normally use pickle) I Tried to rent a dress, they needed to verify my Identity, no problem. I followed the steps of taking a photo of front and back of ID , final step was to take a selfie and the app kept sending an error message leaving me unable to complete the process. I contacted support to which they needed front & back of my ID along with me holding my ID selfie AND a letter with my address on it. I sent everything. The letter needed to be a utility and I sent a letter from a law firm that was a legal document. They also wanted another selfie and my bank statement ? WHAT? I declined and am taking my business to pickle which has been wonderfully easy! So crazy their app cannot provide an easy process along with support that can make things easy without needing to send all of those personal items to just rent a dress. ### 1/5 — Payment system failure *2025-09-16, version 3.1.3* I have tried paying and submitting my payment information it shows that the third party they use approves it but then it won’t save on the app. It’s very frustrating and laggy. ### 1/5 — Login fault popular *2025-09-10, version 3.1.3* I’m trying to login I’ve reset my password so many times on the website but can’t login into the app and from the reviews it’s happening to a lot of people so gd luck making any money? ### 1/5 — Spammy *2025-08-19, version 3.1.0* Good idea, but they send me notifications every day despite the fact I’ve opted out of all notifications! Annoying ### 2/5 — App not opening *2025-08-17, version 3.1.0* App not opening on iOS and on website (desktop) my password reset is being ignored. The website doesn’t recognise my old login but won’t allow me to login using my previously used email. Completely stuck! ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2025-07-30, version 3.1.0* The ID verification doesn’t work. You waste your time searching and can’t even rent the dress you find. I wouldn’t recommend ### 1/5 — Be careful *2025-07-28* Be careful with this app. My first went went by smoothly. I received my money immediately, but after I had a few more rentals, they decided that they wanted to erase my earnings and hold my money for three weeks or 30 days. They claimed their stripe was delayed by three weeks. I contacted stripe and they said that they know of no problem. There is no further explanations, and they refuse to help or give any insight as to what the real reason is that they are holding all of their lender’s money for over 30 or 3 weeks. There isn’t even any proof of my earnings! Literally embarrassing for a company to do this to people who lend immediately but you want to enforce a fake NET30 for our money. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2026-05-14, version 4.6.2* I rented out a piece of clothing and have 25 pounds in my account. Conveniently, byrotation doesn’t allow you to withdraw value below 30. Also they keep spamming you with notification even when you have turned anything but customer messages off. ### 1/5 — Customer service *2026-03-27, version 4.5.1* Worst customer service, no phone number, no agents on chat, 2+ days to reply to emails, and no monitoring of lender/renter communication. ### 1/5 — Frustrating Payout Process & Unresponsive Support *2026-03-25, version 4.5.1* I had a good experience renting out my dress in terms of demand, but unfortunately the payment process has been extremely frustrating. It is completely unclear how to withdraw earnings to a bank account, with very little guidance provided in the app. On top of that, customer service has been unresponsive, which makes the situation even more disappointing. When money is involved, clarity and support are essential, and currently this platform falls short on both. I hope this improves, as the concept of the app is great, but the user experience—especially around payments—needs serious attention. ### 1/5 — Renters allowed to steal *2026-02-26* Renters can get away with never returning an item and support will do nothing about it unless it is reported within 7 days. Renters are not required by the app to enter return tracking information so there is zero way to tell if a renter is inactive on the app but has returned the item or stole it within a short timeframe. Renters run wild on this app with damages as well and can simply choose to not pay an invoice, there is no way of ensuring payment for damage or theft. ### 1/5 — Beware of renting *2026-01-05, version 4.1.3* Beware of renting on ByRotation if your items get stolen or go missing they do nothing to help you! Used to be such an amazing app but the customer support and help towards lenders is appalling. ### 1/5 — Buggy app which takes ages to load *2025-12-07, version 4.0.5* A slow, buggy app makes for a poor user experience. I’ve had 2 renters damage/lose a dress and they’ve then ghosted me. By Rotation’s support has been good, but these people should be banned from the platform ### 1/5 — Lender beware! *2025-11-19* Lender beware! I rented out a beautiful, expensive, new dress only for it to come back with stains AND runs. Support was incredibly unhelpful. Their policy is: “5.6. Renters will not be liable for general wear and tear. Normal wear and tear includes stains which can be removed by proper cleaning, minor snags, small numbers of missing beads, stuck zippers or other minor damage. By Rotation customer support may assist with evaluating what fair wear and tear is, and what is to be considered damage.” Essentially your items can be trashed and you’re just out of luck. I was told I needed to get the items assessed by “two reputable repair services” then submit the claims and go through the claims then if approved provide “quotes from two reputable repair services”. Support was unable to provide clarity on what is considered a reputable service or share a list of reputable services in my area. Lenders are not compensated in any way for the time it takes to source repair places and visit them each twice. All for making $50 renting a dress?
