## What is Byna?

Byna — Dutch for "almost".

Byna is a quiet countdown for the moments you're looking forward to.
No clutter, no notifications shouting for attention, no extra screen time.
One photo, one number, and the warm feeling of anticipation.

• Count down to a holiday, a birthday, a reunion — or any moment at all.
• Choose your own photo, or let Byna pick a beautiful colour for you.
• Add a widget to your Home Screen and Lock Screen, so "almost there" stays in view.
• Get one gentle nudge, right when the moment arrives. Not before, not more than once.
• Share your countdown with a link — no app install needed for the person you send it to.

Byna doesn't need an account and keeps your moments right on your device.
Share a countdown, and the photo disappears on its own once the moment has passed.

### 1.1.7 — 2026-09-20

Landscape photos now get the treatment they deserve. Open a moment and you see the whole photo as a card — nothing gets cut off. Prefer it full screen? You choose that per moment when you set the photo.

### 1.1.6 — 2026-08-06

Your moments are now safely backed up to iCloud. Delete the app or move to a new device, and your moments and your own photos come back.

We've also refined the app in lots of small ways.

Byna now speaks Dutch, English and Brazilian Portuguese.

Your moments now sit together in one chronological list. A moment you follow shows at a glance that it's a shared moment.

Open a shared moment and you go straight to the countdown.

We've also refined the animations and made a number of smaller improvements.

Widgets kunnen nu automatisch meeschuiven met wat er aankomt. Kies de eerstvolgende, tweede of derde plek in je rij.

Ook telt Byna dagen nu langs echte kalenderdagen. Daardoor blijft de weergave kloppen rond zomertijd en wanneer je reist.

Heb je al een widget? Stel hem één keer opnieuw in om de nieuwe automatische keuze te gebruiken.

Je kunt een moment nu achteraf bijstellen — de titel, de datum, de tijd of de foto. Wie je moment volgt, ziet de wijziging vanzelf.

En kies je een foto, dan bepaal je zelf welk stukje ervan op de kaart en in de widget komt te staan. Sleep tot het goed voelt.

Verder begint de tijd voortaan op het eerstvolgende hele uur, en veeg je een moment sneller weg uit Mijn momenten.
