The search function does not work well. It seems that you can get a list of articles based on the search term, but you cannot access the articles beyond knowing the title. I’m hopeful that improvements are coming soon. ### 3/5 — Has a ways to go *2018-02-23, version 4.2.1* I cannot give more than three stars because: - no way to bookmark point to which current reading has progressed, and in which issue. -"study aids" on opening screen are nice, but they are merely access to very specialized details which are only useful if one desires to pose very particular, though very interesting, questions. I expected to find tools to aid academic study. I have been unable to effectively use the search tool. Seemingly this requires one to know whether to search before “quarterly” was appended. I am seeking a particular article and it won’t reappear. - access to early history is delightful. ### 4/5 — Getting better... *2017-04-17, version 4.2.1* I've been a subscriber to byu studies quarterly for some time now and am highly impressed by the content of the of the periodical but for those of us who get it electronically the app has been less than equally impressive. It certainly has over time improved and I'm really thankful for it. On a smaller device like an iPhone 4 it was hard to read the PDF documents, yet any type of iPad it works well. It blows my mind that there is no "social sharing" or ability to create custom folders/lists. I would have been able to help your subscriptions much faster than just emails. This is a good idea for an app, but it's practically useless without search capability from the home page. I can't remember which issue a certain article appeared in, and I'm unwilling to go table by table of contents through a bunch of issues until I find what I'm looking for. ### 2/5 — Doesn't work for iOS 9 *2015-10-25, version 3.2* Sad. The most problematic paid app I've ever tried to use; I keep coming back because the content's so good—when it's available. No search. No bookmarking. No updates. When it I opens, within 3 seconds, I get a connection lost message, which asks me to retry. If I retry, I get the same message. I have a good Internet connection, so I know that is not the problem. ### 2/5 — Good start, long way to go *2015-02-01, version 3.1* It's a simple, easy-to-use app. No problems logging in or finding different issues. Nevertheless, for those (like me) who likes to search for articles and read by topic, this app falls really short. Honestly I barely use this app and just use the mobile version instead. It would also be nice to have a notes feature/notebook for highlighting and remembering quotes. However, this isn't really a big deal. Despite the shortcomings of the app, the content is still excellent and offers a broad range of interesting articles for anyone with an interest in LDS-related topics. ### 2/5 — Sounds like a great app, but... *2014-08-24, version 2.2* I don't have a subscription. You'd think that if my tithing money goes to support the school, I'd be able to have access to the content... Sad.
