This is incorrect, BS7671 Tables 4D1A & 4E1A permit installation of unarmoured cable on tray or ladder. Methods F&G. There are occasions where I do not want SWA cable. The App only gives an option for installation of unarmoured cables in or on wall. **Developer response:** Hi, In accordance with BS 7671 the permitted installation reference methods are dependant on the selected cable type, for example single insulated cables cannot be installed on cable tray. If you select an SWA cable then the relevant installation methods are shown for that cable type such as cable tray, free air ect… ### 1/5 — Works ok but ads are too distracting *2023-12-05* As above, would use it more if not for the bombarment of advertising nonsense. **Developer response:** There aren’t any ads in this app, think you have confused this with a different app as there isn’t any ads in this app. ### 1/5 — Very limited *2021-07-15* If you want to do anything big (>800A) then forget it. ### 1/5 — No good *2021-01-28* 20A single phase circuit, in singles installed in trunking, 75M and its giving me a cable size of 70mm 😂 **Developer response:** Other parameters also apply to calculating cable sizes such as Ze, max Zs, grouping and Volt drop, not just design current and cable length. For example if your Ze is 1.70 and your PD is 20A MCB type B the max Zs (80%) is 1.75 - therefor it will require a very large cable to satisfy the Max Zs due to a high Ze. Feel free to email us your calculation to support@pro-certs.com ### 1/5 — D Evans *2020-02-20* Worst cable calc app, tried getting the cable size for a 209amp circuit would not do it so I tried a smaller circuit and it recommended 16mm T&E for a 25 amp supply covered by a 32amp rcbo **Developer response:** Other parameters also apply to a cable calculation (other than just the rating) such as the Ze, max Zs, volt drop, cable resistance and installation methods. A high Ze or long circuit will increase the required cable size. Correction factors also have an effect on the cable size. Can you send your calculation requirements to support@pro-certs.com ### 1/5 — Bugged *2019-07-20* Despite carefully entering all the information and making sure all fields are complete the app keeps throwing out an error saying that there are missing values. **Developer response:** The latest version (1.3.1) has fixed the missing values error. ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2015-10-15* Keeps saying Error. Not impressed stick to the book! **Developer response:** The latest 2018 version has fixed bugs and we have added verification checks and new features. ### 2/5 — Problems *2021-02-21* On step 2, there is a problem where you can not select the ambient temp without clicking on the two options below first. This needs fixing. (It says “no option”) To improve this app, it would be helpful to allow you to select the wrong cable, and tell you which part doesn’t comply, and then you “+1 size” until the cable is compliant, where as you can not see the information now until you “go up a size”. I.e. if the volt drop was none compliant etc, this would be useful but I guess may be difficult (and maybe not what it was designed for).
