### 3/5 — Not available in Canada

*2026-05-30, version 8.1.6*

Just wasted $7 because I can’t use the app in Canada

### 5/5 — The best app

*2026-04-12, version 8.1.6*

The best caching app across all platforms, with new features coming all the time

### 4/5 — Best App for Geocaching

*2026-04-09, version 8.1.6*

Cachly provides loads of great features that the base geocaching app doesn't support, and is generally a better and more thoughtfully designed application. That being said, I think there are ways that it can be improved:

1. The proximity notification system is currently great for when you're navigating to a specific cache. However, I think it would be fantastic if there could be a way to enable the app to constantly monitor in the background (whether or not you have the app open) for any nearby caches.
This would be great for discovering caches that you didn't even know were there whilst going about your daily business.
To save battery life and mobile data the app could just load the coordinates (to allow the app to know how close you are) of nearby caches and only load full cache details when you click on the notification, and use downloaded offline caches where already available.

2. Adding friends is currently not possible using Cachly. It would be great to see a built-in system to add friends by usernames and qr codes, instead of having links to the Geocaching website.

3. Hiding your own caches or uploading your own trackables is currently not possible in Cachly. It would be great to see this be implemented as a feature to prevent the need to use the Geocaching website as well.

4. iOS widgets! It would be great to have some useful widgets such as nearby caches on a map or viewing the status of hidden caches; the official Geocaching has some of these already.

Hopefully this is useful: these features will help Cachly to become more of a standalone app, and remove the need to use the official Geocaching app and website on top of Cachly to access all of Geocaching's features. Thanks again for creating such a useful app!

### 5/5 — 2 words... User Friendly

*2026-03-01, version 8.1.6*

What an outstanding geocaching tool. It's worth every penny for the content and user-friendly setup. And the best thing is, it continues to evolve through user feedback.

### 5/5 — Bug (?) report

*2026-03-01, version 8.1.6*

Hi Cachly, love your app! I just wanted to report what might be a bug or something to otherwise iron out. I’ve noticed when looking through my logs that, within each date, they appear in the order I must have posted them in, rather than chronologically. For example, I drafted GC1A, then GC2B, then GC3C. The following day I found and drafted GC4D. I went through them later and for whatever reason posted my drafts in this order: GC2B, GC4D, GC3C, and lastly, GC1A. On Cachly, my logs list will appear from top to bottom as follows: GC4D (as it was most recently found), then GC1A, then GC3C, then GC2B.

### 4/5 — Parfait mais

*2026-02-18*

Edit 2025

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-02-16, version 8.1.5*

Our caching app of choice. Very helpful when hiking.

### 4/5 — Rocky start, but super awesome app now!

*2026-02-15, version 8.1.5*

6/29/2024 Update: I am so happy that the app developer reversed the decision to take away the premium maps from people who had already paid for them. This app is seriously awesome for offline Geocaching. Today I found 8 caches all offline with the descriptions with even logs and images available to me. When the Apple Car Play support is added I might consider paying for the subscription too as there are some additional features I would love to have. Thanks for this new awesome way to Geocache and making Geocaching while offline so much better than the official app. Only 4/5 stars due to my original frustration. Original Review: I purchased the $5 app on April 2nd 2024. Then purchased the $3 premium offline maps immediately after downloading for the first time. Now with this new 8.0 update they’ve removed my maps that I had paid extra for an now say that I have to pay the new yearly $5 subscription. Don’t get me wrong, I can afford $5/year. But this is still fraud. I understand that everything is moving to a subscription model but to force people to pay extra for what they already paid for is wrong! Do yourself a favor and use the official Geocaching app that your $30-$40 premium subscription already gets you and use Organic Maps for mapping while offline.

### 5/5 — Great App for caching

*2026-02-08, version 8.1.3*

I always use this app on my caching adventures because it has many features that I enjoy.
The only reason for not giving it a full 5 stars is that I would like to be able to enlarge the display of distance to the GZ to make it easier to read whether walking or driving - ageing cachers’ eyesights are not always the best.
Great App - thanks.

### 5/5 — Everything I have Ever Needed in a Geocaching app!

*2026-01-24, version 8.1.2*

This app has everything the "official" app has, but fortunately a lot more!

 I love:
1) the integration of Google, Waze, or iPhone maps to give driving directions to the cache,
2) the responsive and smooth loading maps, over one DOZEN map sets available, including OFfLINE maps for most countries, all US states and Canadian provinces. The new premium maps have good topo and a lot more trails included! #cachlypremiummaps are a great investment of a few extra dollars!
3) a quick view of recent cacher success with green/red and date stamp, FTF indicators and a custom lonely cache feature,
4) and even the ability to load and share and create on Cachly and text to others custom .gpx files.
5) clicks COs linked name then hit hides to see a map of all caches by that owner that are currently active!
6) full cache data can be loaded for offline use.
7) highlighter tool has over 20 colors and each color can be custom named. For example the red highlighter I have titled “Y2K caches” and highlighted all Y2K caches globally. That way if I do a search of an area and one is within map view I can immediately see that it is nearby since it is highlighted!
8) counties map!! This is a pro feature but so worth it. For those of us who county cache this is a game changer!

This is a TOTAL replacement for the "standard" app. I Love it!

### 5/5 — Awesome. Best ToTT around

*2026-01-22, version 8.1.2*

For those on the fence, get this app! It is literally the best. If you are trying to get all the caches without paying for premium at Geocaching, don’t bother, but if you are a premium member and want a bunch of other, easy to use resources, this is for you. Love the maps (yes, I did purchase some). The interface is easy and intuitive unlike the geocaching app. Can’t wait for CarPlay to be functional!

### 5/5 — CarPlay

*2026-01-16, version 8.1.2*

Awesome

### 2/5 — Subscription not working.

*2025-12-31, version 8.0.16*

It’s a well organised app, but
I upgraded to pro and my account only has basic features. I tried to find help through geocaching.com, but had to go through a convoluted registration process. Really difficult to get help and to resolve this issue. Disappointing as I’ve paid to use all of the features but can’t.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-12-09, version 8.0.16*

Been using the Cachly App for years and find it reliable especially when used in conjunction with my GPSR.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stop asking me if I’m enjoying Cachly after every log!

*2026-08-04, version 8.1.6*

This is an annoying new feature of the app.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste money

*2026-06-14, version 8.1.6*

It wouldn’t let me get on and I spent $5 on this and it wouldn’t even work fix this app

### 1/5 — Paid cachly pro and doesnt work

*2026-05-15, version 8.1.6*

I paid cachly pro for the whole year (12,99 eur) and not working, can see almost no caches

### 1/5 — Ca bug

*2026-05-03, version 8.1.6*

*2026-02-07, version 8.1.3*

J’ai acheté l’app. J’ai payé l’achat intégré. Maintenant on me demande un abonnement pour CarPlay.
CarPlay.

### 1/5 — Additional Paywalls

*2025-12-09, version 8.0.16*

Should be one time fee, upon opening there is additional paywalls. I actually thought I had the free version when I was using it recently.

### 1/5 — Update = not working now

*2025-10-19, version 8.0.15*

Had no issues until this most recent update. Now trackables won’t load, owned or other in inventory. Adventure lab stops not showing on map. I’ll go back to 5 stars if this clears up 😩

### 1/5 — Unusable without the premium subscription. $5 app for nothing. Would give 0 stars if possible.

*2025-08-16, version 8.0.11*

I thought the $5 paywall to install the app was so that I could get premium geocaching benefits without paying the monthly subscription with the official geocaching app. Upon downloading it, I realized there was also a premium for this app. No problem, they probably want to make more money. I get it. But looking at the map I discovered I could only see traditional and event caches. Multi, mystery, or any other type of caches were unable to be seen unless through a direct search. I assumed this was a glitch since the thought that this was how this $5 app worked was laughable. But upon further digging I found that only premium members could see those types of caches. Why?? The basic geocaching app with my similarly free account can see multi caches, and even grayed out advanced caches. WHY IS THIS PAID APP WORSE THAN THE FREE ONE? I see zero benefit of this app over the official one. The fact that this has 5 stars is astounding to me. Don’t waste your money. Would give a zero if I could

### 1/5 — Does not load

*2025-06-26, version 8.0.10*

Will not take my credit card information so I can get premium for $15. I’ve tried and I’ve tried. And still nothing. I will Change my rating on the app is working

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-07-23, version 8.1.6*

Works well

### 5/5 — Alternative parfaite

*2026-07-18*

*2026-07-17*

### 5/5 — Outstanding App

*2026-07-07, version 8.1.6*

I love Cachly and use it as my primary caching app!

### 5/5 — Cachly Vs. Grocaching

*2026-06-30, version 8.1.6*

Have been a premium member for quite sometime now.
Have had Cachly ever since it came out.
Much easier to navigate than GC.
Keep up the great work!

### 5/5 — My go to caching app!

*2026-06-25, version 8.1.6*

Love love love cachly! It’s a main reason I’ll never switch from an iPhone. So many great features!! Love the FTF icons on unfound/logged caches especially! But hi-lighting (with so many colour options), the red perimeter circles, the offline cache hiding which also has the red perimeter circles, so it’s super easy to pack in a tight power trail! A lot more amazing features I’m probably forgetting.

### 5/5 — ScottEvanGeocaching

*2026-06-22, version 8.1.6*

Cachly = awesome

### 5/5 — Go to Geocaching Tool

*2026-06-16, version 8.1.6*

Since I discovered this some years ago it has been the app I use for geocaching 99% of the time. Somewhere along the way it started asking for a rating after each use so things it.
