## What is Cacti?

Cacti is an AI-Powered Photo Vault.

Store your private and intimate photos on Cacti's on-device 256-bit AES encrypted vault.

Cacti is powered by a strong AI to automatically detect private and intimate photos in your Photos Library. Our AI algorithm is years worth effort to help you find intimate photos easily. You don't have to browse through tens of thousands of your photos to find those that belong in a secure vault. Our algorithm will suggest photos that are most likely private and intimate so you can hide them in a few taps. The best part is that this AI algorithm works right on your device; your data never leaves your device; Cacti can work without access to the internet (provided your photos are not in iCloud).

Cacti allows you to store your photos in a highly secure 256-bit AES encrypted vault to ensure the privacy and security you need. Cacti Vault is protected by your passphrase. You may also use Touch ID, or Face ID to unlock your vault. You can also add photos that are not detected by our algorithm directly into the vault. To ensure there is no possible hacking, we do not allow your data to leave your device. All photos remain securely stored in a passphrase protected encrypted vault on your device. They are not uploaded to our or any other servers at any time. This is the ultimate privacy tool.

At Cacti, we value your identity, safety, and privacy. You don't have to sign up to use the service. There is no concept of an account. Just download and use the app. You are anonymous, so is your data. We firmly believe that your data belongs to you and no one else. We do not ever gain access to your private photos.

Cacti Vault app works amazingly for the following.
- Identifying and suggesting private and intimate photos in your library.
- Securely storing photos in an encrypted vault.
- Organizing your sensitive photos in one place.
- Keeping your photos safe without compromising your identity or security.
- Securely sharing your intimate photos across platforms.

Uniqueness of Cacti.
- Our AI identifies private and intimate photos so that you don't have to manually find them.
- It is a highly secure encrypted vault.
- 100% Offline. View and add photos to your Cacti Vault without an active network connection. (The only exception is if you are adding photos that are on iCloud to your vault.)
- No uploads at any time. All data is stored on-device. Our AI works on-device.
- No Sign-ups. You and your data stay anonymous. Always.
- We are highly privacy-conscious, and want nothing to do with your private data.

Features of Cacti.
- Automatically detect private and intimate photos.
- Add photos from various sources right on the Cacti Vault app.
- 256-bit AES Encrypted vault.

### 1/5 — No way to move photos to hidden library

*2026-02-03, version 2.1.0*

The app does a great job of identifying photos with only a small number of false positives. However, there is no way to move the photos Apple’s own hidden library. Which is such a shame given how good it was at filtering.

I don’t want to move my photos into an app.

### 5/5 — Incredibly useful

*2025-12-30, version 2.1.0*

I have well over 50K photos on my iphone. I was also a Reddit-based adult content creator with a very dedicated fan base. Over time I’ve accumulated a mix of downloaded, AI generated and selfie p**n that I tried to isolate using hidden photos.

Doing this manually is genuinely hard to do, while a mistake can be easy to make and you might not know it’s happened until it’s too late and then someone sees your private parts accidentally. Not at all cool.

Cacti automates the process of cleaning things up and does it automatically, and well. Strongly recommend for anyone wanting to get and keep their junk out of their junk.

### 4/5 — Using a lot of data for something that’s not supposed to using data

*2025-07-23, version 2.1.0*

I recently installed the app and ran the first analysis overnight. When I checked my cellular data usage today, I noticed that Cacti Vault was at the top of the list, using 900 MB. This seems unusual since the app claims to perform its analysis entirely offline. I'm curious about what data might be uploaded or downloaded. The FAQ on the website says some analytics and usage data is shared, but I couldn't find any specific information about this in the documentation.

On a positive note, the app performed well and successfully identified many potentially sensitive photos in my album. Some of the discoveries surprised me or were images I had forgotten about. Moving them to the vault and deleting them from my album was relatively easy!

However, I wish there were an option to adjust the sensitivity, as many of the flagged images were harmless.

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2025-03-17, version 2.1.0*

A very well polished app

### 4/5 — Great app

*2024-10-04, version 2.1.0*

Love this app but I would go to 5 start if you guys allowed to save videos and edit album covers. Otherwise I cannot fault this app.

### 5/5 — Secured Photos

*2024-08-19, version 2.1.0*

5 stars for Cactus app, they are the best.

### 4/5 — Amazing App, & needs to be more widespread. Needs video Support though. — 1 ⭐️

*2024-06-17, version 2.1.0*

This app has some great encryption features for sharing, & I like that it's fully functional w/ cellular data turned off. I am a privacy-nerd, & all these features are great, but it hasn't been updated in 1 year, & seriously needs support to add videos added.

### 1/5 — Dead product

*2024-05-27, version 2.1.0*

No updates in a over a year.

No contact from developer about updates.

Dead app.

Bad business.

### 2/5 — Great app, missing 1 huge feature.

*2023-10-06, version 2.1.0*

This app is awesome! I am saying that to be fair and because it really is! The app works amazingly for photos but as for videos… the app doesn’t support videos in any way currently. If this could be added I would be absolutely locked into using this app.

### 1/5 — Unhappy Customers

*2023-06-28, version 2.1.0*

Non responsive via the app. Sent several message. Don’t waste your time or money.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.0 — 2022-09-24

Psst…hey…you! Are you still clicking and sending spicy pictures through untrusted platforms? Are you certain that they don't have a direct feed of what your camera sees? Have you heard of our lord and saviour "Cacti Secure Share", through which you can securely share photos in Cacti? Oh, what's that? But Cacti doesn't have a camera in which you can confidently click pictures and then share, you say?

Well, lo and behold, our second major update of 2022 now comes with a shiny new camera! No more worrying about who is spying on you. Just:
- Click.
- Save to Vault.
- Share Securely through Cacti.
It's that simple!

All photos clicked in Cacti are encrypted and securely stored within the app by default. Once you unlock your Vault, Cacti then moves these pending photos to it, for more security. If your Vault is already unlocked, it just works automatically.

Also, hey, the ONE BAZILLION of you (okay, maybe I'm exaggerating on the number here) who requested for a selection menu to easily select and deselect all photos in a grid. Guess what? Well, we did not get the time to do this, we are sorry…just kidding…YES, WE DID IT! Go ahead, check it out.

Apart from all this, we also managed to fix two issues:
1. Once photos have been moved from the clipboard to the Vault, clipboard photos would then be cleared.
2. Made the buttons across the app look more consistent…because our designer was on top of our developers' heads to get it done, like an enlightened saint who won't budge from their meditation sitting on the crest of a mountain. Also, our designer is a cool soul, we love her!

### 1.0.5 — 2020-12-13

It has been a few months since the launch of Cacti Vault, and we have a lot of you users using the app. Thank you!

We wanted to reach out to you to hear from you (anonymously) to get some feedback about your experience with the app so far.
You would be asked to fill out a 2-min survey when you launch the app after this update. Please consider completing the survey to help us improve the app further.

We started with the belief that the privacy and security of your private data should be easily achievable. Hearing from you would help develop this belief further.
You can also reach out to us at hello@cacti.ai.

### 1.0.4 — 2020-10-29

This is a big one. A Saguaro, if you will.

- Albums in Vault. This one is for those of us who love to keep things organized. You can create albums, name them, and add photos to them, all within the vault. We have a default album called 'Everything' where you will find everything in your vault in one place.
- Support for changes in Photos permission on iOS 14. Apple has changed the way a user can give photos permission to an app. Cacti now fully embraces this change and gives you complete control over how you want us to access your data.
- Added support for iOS 14 Photos Picker. If you would like to use the more powerful search and discovery options available in the Photos app (options like search by person, location, content, etc.), you can do that with the new Photos Picker and directly move the selected photos to the vault.
- Cacti now supports more options to control the reporting of the anonymized usage data.
- Added support for even more alternate app icons. You can use these new options to make the Cacti app on your home screen look like a calculator, a file browser, or a vault with various color options.
- Added the ability to share a photo from the full-screen photo preview.
- You can now re-watch our sick on-boarding illustrations.

P. S. Saguaro is a kind of large Cactus that grows over 40ft tall.
