## What is Cadence?

The problem is real: your family's schedule lives in five different places. There's a calendar on the wall, a group chat that never stops, a sticky note on the counter, and somehow you still forgot about soccer practice. When every kid has two or three activities and the adults have their own stuff going on, things fall through the cracks. That's stressful.

Cadence fixes that. It's one app where your entire household's activities live together — kids, parents, grandparents, everyone.

See your whole day in seconds. Open the app and get color-coded cards for every person's activities. Times, locations, who's handling drop-off — it's all right there. Names in shared activities are color-coded so you can spot who's involved at a glance. A "NOW" badge shows what's happening this moment, and overlap warnings catch conflicts before they turn into arguments. Tap the red flag on a card to expand alternate pickup details and day notes inline.

Plan the way you want to. View your week day-by-day, your month at a glance, or zoom out to a full year timeline showing every activity's season. Filter by any family member with one tap.

Schedule anything. Weekly practice? Biweekly tutoring? Piano on the 2nd Tuesday of every month? Cadence handles all of it. Set locations, assign activities to any family member, and add start and end dates for seasonal stuff.

Know what you actually spent. Add costs per session, per month, per season, per year, or as a one-time fee. The by-year Cost Summary shows real spending — pick any year, see each person's totals, share the breakdown. Past years stay accurate even after you archive ended activities.

Archive instead of delete. When a season ends, archive the activity. It disappears from your dashboard, calendar, and watch — but the cost history stays in your records. Cadence even notices when an activity's end date passes and offers to archive it.

Never miss a registration deadline. Set reminders months before sign-ups open. Get alerts hours, days, or even a week before activities start. A weekly PDF schedule summary gets delivered on the day you choose — share it with your co-parent, babysitter, or tape it to the fridge.

More ways to stay on top of things — Activity Board for iPad: mount it on a wall and get a live family command center with a clock and countdown to the next event. Apple Watch companion: see today's schedule on your wrist, filter by person, skip activities on the fly. Document storage: upload waivers, registration forms, and rosters — organized by activity. Calendar sync: Cadence creates a calendar on your device with full iCloud sharing so every caregiver stays in the loop.

Built for your whole household: Add kids, parents, caregivers, grandparents — anyone. Color-code each person so you can scan the schedule instantly.

Private by design: No email. No password. No sign-up form. No tracking. Cadence syncs through your private iCloud — your data never touches a third-party server.

Works on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

Cadence is a fantastic all-in-one activity hub for busy families. It handles unlimited scheduling, household management, smart reminders, calendar sync, document sharing, cost tracking, and even sends helpful weekly PDF reports.
The app is clean, easy to use, and keeps everything organized across all our devices. We started with the 14-day free trial and quickly decided to stay. It has noticeably reduced the chaos in our household.

### 5/5 — Wow. This app. Wow.

*2026-06-17*

As a father of 3 and full time attorney, the little time I have spent with this app so far has been a revelation. I have seen many calendaring apps come and go, but the added features on this app, including tracking your spending on your kids’ activities, is next level stuff. As someone who is price conscious, I find the pricing plans to be very reasonable and super transparent. Can’t recommend this app enough. Thank you Cadence!

**Developer response:** Thank you for this, it means a lot. You landed on one of the main reasons I built Cadence, the activity spending tracker. Knowing what your kids' activities actually cost you, all in one place, was the problem I most wanted to solve. Hearing it click for you tells me it's doing its job.

I'm building Cadence in the open and I read every piece of feedback, so if anything feels off or there's something you wish it did, feel free to reach out. It shapes what I build next.
Welcome to Cadence, and thank you for taking the time to write!

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-06-24

Archive ended activities without losing your cost history: Swipe an activity to archive it and it's tucked into the Archived section at the bottom of your list — out of your dashboard, calendar, and watch, but still in your spending records. Cadence even offers to archive ended activities for you on next launch.

By-year Cost Summary: The $ button now opens a year-scoped view of real spending — pick any year, see each person's totals, and share the breakdown. Archived activities are included so past years stay accurate.

Faster scanning of shared cards: When multiple people share an activity, each name now shows in their own color.

Tap-to-expand day details: Tap the red flag on a dashboard card to see alternate pickups, drop-offs, and day notes inline — no extra taps to navigate away and back.

Plus: a fix that prevents the Add Activity form from losing your work when you tap a picker, dashboard scrolling polish, and several other bug fixes throughout.
