## What is Cadence?

Teach the room, not the clock.

Cadence is the class timer for instructors. Pilates first, and just as at home in barre, yoga, HIIT, bootcamp, and personal training. Plan the flow once on iPhone, then teach it from your Apple Watch, your iPhone propped on the reformer, or an iPad the whole room can read. It shows the current move, your private cue, and what is next, and taps you before every transition. Your eyes stay on your clients.

Plan the class once
• Name each move, set the seconds, and add the coaching cue only you see.
• Color-code warm-up, work, and cool-down so the runner reads at a glance.
• Repeat a block for rounds, rest between them, and open with a Get Ready countdown (Cadence Pro).
• Start from a template: a 45-minute reformer flow, a 50-minute mat class, a 30-minute private, a 45-minute barre class, Tabata, HIIT, a five-station circuit, EMOM.
• Tag routines Mat, Reformer, Private, Barre, Yoga, HIIT, or Strength and filter the library by class format.
• Duplicate and remix any routine.

Bring in the plans you already have (Cadence Pro)
• Paste straight from Google Sheets, Excel, Numbers, or Notes. Cadence reads the moves, times, and cues and shows you a review before anything is saved.
• Open CSV and tab-separated files.
• Send a routine to a colleague as a link or a CSV. They open it in Cadence. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Teach from whatever is closest
• Apple Watch: current move, countdown, up next, and step count, with a tap at every change and five seconds before it. Pause, skip, redo a step, or end early from your wrist.
• iPhone: the same view, big enough to prop on the reformer. Focus mode strips it down to the move and the time.
• iPad: turn it sideways for a studio display, countdown and cue on one side, the full routine on the other.
• Lock the screen so a stray touch cannot skip a move. Hold to unlock.
• The Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show the current step and countdown, with pause and skip buttons (Cadence Pro).

Cues the way you want them, or not at all
• Everything is silent until you turn it on.
• Haptics, plus a chime, beep, or bell at each step, a warning near the end, and a finish tone.
• Voice cues read the move and your coaching cue aloud (Cadence Pro).
• Halfway cues for longer holds.
• Keep running when locked, with play, pause, and skip from AirPods or the Lock Screen.
• Music from other apps dips while a cue plays, then comes back.

Quick Intervals on Apple Watch (Cadence Pro)
Set work, rest, and rounds on your wrist and start without the phone.

Compound routines (Cadence Pro)
Chain a warm-up, a main block, and a cool-down into one class that runs start to finish.

Siri and Shortcuts
"Hey Siri, start Thursday Reformer in Cadence."

Count classes, not minutes
Cadence keeps a tally of the classes you teach and marks the milestones along the way: 10 classes, 100 classes, a 12-week streak.

Four looks
Choose the appearance that suits your studio, from a dark boutique look to a light serif one. Your Watch follows.

Free and Pro
Cadence is free with up to 2 active routines, templates, step colors, sound alerts, and headphone controls. Cadence Pro adds unlimited routines, archiving, import and export, rounds, share links, the Lock Screen timer, voice cues, compound routines, and Quick Intervals for $9.99 a month after a 7-day free trial.

### 5/5 — Fantastic for both teaching and personal practice!

*2026-10-19*

The newest update is an absolute game-changer. While it has always been an amazing Apple Watch tool, being able to run routines straight from my iPhone is a huge positive. The iPhone app and watch app show the current move, cues, and what's coming up next, and both give you a haptic tap with a five-second warning before transitions.

### 5/5 — Yoga teacher training

*2026-10-06*

This is an amazing app for Pilates or yoga instructors who are creating multiple classes a week and want to keep routines fresh and need to stay organized. This app is my new best friend

### 1.4 — 2026-10-19

Music for the class. Attach an Apple Music playlist to a routine and it starts with the first move, pauses when you pause, and pauses again when the class ends. Cadence Pro, with an Apple Music subscription.

The room can see the timer. Connect a TV or projector over AirPlay or a cable and the current move, countdown, and cue appear in large type while your phone keeps the controls. Cadence Pro.

Cadence Pro by the year. Pay $59.99 for twelve months, about $5 a month, or stay on the monthly plan at $9.99. The 7-day free trial applies to either, and you can switch between them in the App Store at any time.

A yoga starter template. A 60-minute flow with holds, transitions, and a cue for each pose, ready to edit and teach from your wrist, a phone at the front of the room, or an iPad.

New App Store pages for barre, yoga, HIIT, personal trainers, and studios show Cadence the way each of you teaches. Same app, same plan: a tap before every change and your eyes on the room.

### 1.3 — 2026-10-12

Class starts in four minutes and your plan is in a spreadsheet.

Paste it. Cadence now reads class plans straight from Google Sheets, Excel, Numbers, or Notes, and opens CSV files. You see every move, time, and cue before anything is saved.

Teach from the iPhone or an iPad. Prop the phone on the reformer for the same view you know from your wrist, or turn an iPad sideways for a studio display the whole room can read. Lock the screen so a stray touch cannot skip a move. Focus mode shows just the move and the time.

The Lock Screen keeps the time. The current step and countdown live on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with pause and skip buttons. Turn on Keep running when locked and the cues keep coming with the phone in your pocket, with play, pause, and skip from AirPods.

Sound and voice, if you want them. A chime, beep, or bell at each step, a warning near the end, a finish tone, and voice cues that read the move and your coaching note aloud. Everything stays silent until you turn it on.

Rounds, rest, and compound routines. Repeat a block, rest between rounds, open with a Get Ready countdown, and chain a warm-up, main block, and cool-down into one class.

On Apple Watch: Quick Intervals set work, rest, and rounds on your wrist with no phone. The back button now redoes the current step once it is a few seconds in.

Also: share any routine as a link or CSV, start a class with Siri, tag routines by class format and filter the library, and a tally of the classes you teach with milestones along the way.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-17

Forgot your watch. Class starts in four minutes.

You can now run any routine straight from your iPhone. Tap the play button on a routine card and you get the same teaching view you know from your wrist: the current move, your
private cue, the countdown, and what is up next. Your phone taps you at every transition and gives you a five-second warning before each one, so you can prop it on the reformer and keep your eyes on the room. Apple Watch is still the way to teach hands-free. Now it is not a requirement.

Building routines got quicker too.
• Type an exact number of seconds for any step, or nudge it in fives.
• Reorder steps with the drag handle, or use its menu when your hands are full.
• Step names and cues focus the moment you tap them, anywhere in the field.
Cadence now collects anonymous usage analytics so we can see which parts of the app instructors lean on. There is no account, no name, and nothing about your routines. Details at cadencetimer.ai/privacy.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-20

Cadence now makes Apple Watch setup and syncing simpler and more reliable.

• Follow a guided setup to install Cadence Wrist and send your first routine.
• Routine updates sync automatically, even when the Watch app isn’t open.
• See when your Apple Watch has received the latest changes.
• Setup completes automatically after your first finished routine.
• Clearer Health access guidance and improved timer reliability.
