## What is Cadence?

Cadence is the first calendar that understands how you actually feel. Each morning it reads your sleep and recovery from Apple Health and shows you the real shape of your day — what's ahead, what's due, and how much energy you have to meet it. Then it helps you plan around that, instead of thinking every day is the same.

WHAT CADENCE DOES
• Readiness-aware calendar — your events, reminders, and tasks in one calm timeline, grouped by how demanding they are.
• Recovery, Strain & Trend — daily scores built from your sleep, heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate, and activity, all computed on your device.
• Energy prediction — a simple read on when you'll have the most in the tank, so hard work lands where it fits.
• Nightly journaling — a few honest lines and tomorrow's shape before you sleep, by text or voice.
• Trips & travel — Cadence groups trip events and reminders and gives you a gentle heads-up the evening before.
• Quiet by design — it reassures, it never nags. No streak guilt, no noisy notifications.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Cadence has no account and no server. Your calendars, reminders, health data, journal, and scores never leave your device. No tracking, no ads. Optional iCloud sync (off by default) keeps only Cadence's own journal and preferences in your private iCloud.

NOT MEDICAL ADVICE
Recovery, Strain, sleep, and daily scores are informational estimates from your devices' sensors — not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

SUBSCRIPTION
Cadence offers optional paid tiers through the App Store. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple account settings.

### 5/5 — Best Productivity App Out There

*2026-07-21*

Cadence is literally my favorite app right now for productivity because it gives me a number to shoot for and makes me feel accomplished and productive every time I use it. I’m competitive by nature, so competing with the app to make my score go up just makes me want to use it more, thus making me more focused and productive all the way around.

### 5/5 — Timely & HELPFUL

*2026-07-18*

I stay on the road and busy often. Cadence helps me to not only keep my schedule but also fit in breaks and mindful pauses. Seeing today’s shape also helps me be aware of my body’s natural Rythym

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.0 — 2026-08-20

Cadence 3.0 — deeper, calmer, more complete.

Widgets have been improved and now offer more size options, as well as new and improved graphics. New widgets have also been added to support things like your daily score rings, your overall activity, and a general overview in a large size.

Recovery gets its own place. The number the whole app is built around now leads the Health tab, with the reasons behind it and a history you can scroll back through. A new overnight card shows which of your body's signals sat outside your usual range.

Movement measured against YOUR goal. Cadence now reads your real Move ring and the target you set in Fitness, instead of a figure it worked out for itself.

Two new health notes, and only when they matter. A morning line on whether today is one to push or protect — only when your recovery clearly says so. An optional nudge at your own energy peak. Cadence sends at most two a day, never in quiet hours.

Your runs now have a map. Outdoor workouts on Apple Watch record their route, and heart rate starts reading the moment you do. Two new complications: Day Score and Up Next.

A calendar you can actually handle. Pinch the day grid to zoom, press and hold an event to drag it to a new time, and pull its edges to change how long it runs. Choose 2 days, 3 days, the working week, or the whole week.

Your week and month, reviewed. A new report shows how this week went against the last — your five pillars, your points, your focus, your sleep — and a sleep coach reads your own nights back to you: how much you actually need, how steady your bedtime is, and when to turn in tonight.

A coach for everyone. Today's read — one honest line about your day, drawn from your own numbers — is now free, on every device. Cadence Pro adds four straight answers with the readings behind each. Cadence Max keeps the full conversation, and it can finally talk about your week and not just your morning.

Every workout, in full. Open a run or a ride and see the route, a heart-rate trace with your average, time in each of five zones, and per-mile splits with your fastest marked. Cadence Max adds a short read of how it went — what worked, and one thing to try next time. Every measurement itself is free, on every plan.

Reminders bug fixes: You can now choose to set a time or make the reminder day-based when you create one, not just when you edit it. And the count of what's still open now means today and includes things from before, and an old overdue task now affects your completion score negatively.

iCloud Storage bug fixes: An unpublished change to the schema of the database would cause a rare instance of a replication or deletion when syncing data across 2+ devices or when pulling data onto a fresh download of the app from the cloud. The issue has been resolved, and the app now supports pulling from the cloud as a backup during onboarding, or anytime in settings.

Everything still stays on your device.

### 2.2 — 2026-07-25

Cadence 2.2 — see more at a glance, and trust the numbers.

Bigger, smarter widgets. A new large "Today" widget puts your whole day on the Home
Screen — what's next, what's still due, and where you stand. Your Score Rings now come
in medium and large with the five pillars broken out, and Today's Energy has a
roomier size too.

A daily score you can trust. Every pillar now shows exactly what you earned, with a
plain reason for the number — never rounded up to look kinder. Your recovery, sleep,
and stress reads are steadier and more honest, and a long streak no longer dips just
because the day is young. Rest is still never counted against you.

Focus and stillness, counted. Your focus minutes and your quiet Zen minutes now sit
right in your daily stats.

Set the day's weather yourself. A quick picker at the top of the journal — clear,
rainy, snowy, however it was — so every entry still opens with the shape of the day.

Move between days. Look back at yesterday, or leave a note for tomorrow.

Everything still stays on your device.

### 2.1 — 2026-07-22

Cadence 2.1 — a faster, calmer, more useful day.

Faster to open. Cadence was doing far too much the moment it launched, which could leave the app briefly unresponsive. It now opens ready and gets out of your way.

Know when to leave. For events with a place attached, Cadence works out how long you need and tells you when to go — "Leave in 12 minutes for Dentist." It checks only when you actually have somewhere to be soon, never continuously.

Journal now includes a tomorrow and yesterday slider as a way to recoup thoughts that may be lost the day before or that you want to remember for tomorrow.

A journal that remembers the day. Your photos from the day appear in the entry again, as thumbnails you can swipe through and remove. And if you opt in, Cadence can quietly note where you went and invite you to write about it, with a map of your day.

Plus a slower, gentler body scan, and a good deal more polish throughout.

### 2.0 — 2026-07-18

Version 1.1

A quieter, clearer Cadence. This release adds no new data — it makes what was already there easier to read.

The Health page, reorganized. It now moves the way you actually read it: how you're doing at a glance, then what you did today, then how your body is holding up, then your longer arc, and finally your full history. The same information, far less to wade through.

Pages that get out of the way. Every tab now opens straight into your day instead of announcing its own name. Settings lives in one place.

One visual language. Every expandable detail opens the same way. Type, colour, spacing, and every "not enough data yet" now read consistently from card to card.

Easier to see. Text on coloured surfaces now meets AA contrast in both light and dark, and Reduce Motion is respected throughout.

A note on plans. Stress, Strain, and Trend are now part of Cadence Pro, and Ask Cadence is part of Cadence Max. Recovery, your daily score and all five pillars, points, sleep, heart rate, workouts, your full history, and the nightly journal remain free.
