## What is Cadrio3D?

Cadrio3D is a CAD app for iPhone and iPad that covers both 2D drafting and 3D solid modeling. Geometry is built on the Open CASCADE (OCCT) B-rep kernel, so models exchange with other CAD systems through STEP.

2D DRAFTING
Draw points, lines, polylines, circles and arcs, rectangles, polygons, curves and text, then edit with trim, extend, offset, rotate, move, corner fillet and chamfer, linear and circular patterns, and mirror. Snapping to endpoints, centers, intersections and quadrants, tracking lines, and angle snap are included, along with layers, line types, blocks, hatching, dimensions and leaders, and sketch constraints (coincident, parallel, on-line, on-circle, symmetric).

3D MODELING
Box, cylinder and sphere primitives; extrude from sketch profiles or solid faces, including tapered, offset, and onto cylindrical or conical surfaces; revolve; sweep; loft between planar sections; shell; fillet with variable radius; chamfer; draft angle; threads for holes and external or internal threading with standard presets; booleans (union, cut, intersect); mirror; and patterns. Move, rotate and scale with a gizmo or by typing exact values.

DRAWING SHEETS
Lay out projected views, dimensions, section views and hatching in paperspace, then export as PDF or DXF.

INSPECTION
Mass properties (volume, surface area, center of mass, mass), a bill of materials with quantity roll-up, interference checking between parts, and a non-destructive section view for looking inside a model.

FILES
Import: DXF, STEP, STL, JWW, and the native .cr3 format
Export: STEP, DXF, .cr3, PDF and DXF from drawing sheets, plus 3MF and vertex-colored OBJ for 3D printing and mesh tools
Reference photos or scanned drawings can be placed underneath your work and scaled to real size by entering a known distance between two points.

MECHANISMS
Set up revolute, prismatic, spherical and fixed joints with motor drive, then play the motion back through a physics engine.

SCANNING AND AR
On LiDAR-equipped devices, object scanning (photogrammetry) and room scanning import as STL meshes. Finished models can be placed in the real world in AR to check size and fit. Scan dimensions carry error, so calibrating against a known measurement is recommended.

AI INTEGRATION (MCP SERVER)
Turn on the built-in MCP server and AI clients on the same Wi-Fi network, such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Cursor, can create and edit solids in the app. Traffic stays on the local network, and anything the AI does can be undone in the app.

INPUT
Works with touch and Apple Pencil. On iPad a built-in numeric pad replaces the system keyboard, so entering values never covers the drawing area.

The core app is free. The free tier stores one drawing in the app and does not include file export or library saving. Cadrio Pro (monthly, yearly, or a one-time purchase) unlocks unlimited in-app saves, file export to STEP, DXF and .cr3, PDF and DXF export from drawing sheets, and library saving.
