## What is Cairo Mummies Museum (NMEC)?

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) is home to world famous mummies!

It is one of the most unique museums in the world and one of the most famous attractions of Cairo in Egypt. The basement of the museum follows the design of the Valley of the Kings in Thebes and is home to some of the world-famous mummies.
The museum has a purpose-built area to preserve the following 18th Dynasty mummies in climate-controlled rooms.

The museum is much more than just the mummies of course and is also home to world-famous textiles, artifacts and jewellery. The museum holds the most comprehensive collection of art works from both the Coptic Period and Islamic period of Egypt.

The other two museums you should see in Cairo are the Egyptian Museum (which has the Narmer Palette), and the Grand Egyptian Museum (which has the Tutankhamun treasures)  - search the store for Museum Buddy to download these apps and make the best of your visit to Cairo without having to pay dearly for tour guides.
