### 3/5 — Easy to use but AI and App interactions needs to be better

*2026-08-26, version 26.34.0*

Overall easy to use app. After using this for over 2 months, its AI is most likely using a cheaper model. It's estimates even after detailed description (grams provided, etc) isn't accurate at the number it produces. The worst part was it constantly getting food label scans wrong, that was so annoying. Even after inputing manually, then you try to modify the portions, it resets everything.... please fix asap.

Also, why does it not calculate the calories accordingly when you input the carbs, protein and fats?? And i have to do the math myself.

### 4/5 — Cool but one big issue

*2026-08-25, version 26.33.0*

I’d say good app mostly, but a few things need reworking. The whole macros estimate system is a huge mess. I try to ignore it, but it saying one needs to consume 300 grams of protein when you do your steps + a workout, is just wrong. And setting daily macros doesn’t work when 3 thousand steps changes it all. Whilst I just know to ignore it, other users may follow it wholeheartedly and miss out of gains by eating redundant protein

### 4/5 — FIX HEALTH SCORE

*2026-08-23, version 26.33.0*

Wonderful app, tracking works great, it adjusts your daily calories by syncing data with health app which is genius, but I only have one complaint. The Health Score doesn’t always accurately depict what is actually going on in the tracker. For example it told me my score was a 7/10 because I needed more calories and protein, but in reality I was over for both of those, so it should have been telling me carbs were my issue.

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2026-08-23, version 26.33.0*

Food choices are way more limited than I expected. Typing in a food, especially if more than one word, gives options that are not even close to what I typed. Choices for foods bought at restaurants or take out just aren’t there. I wish the food database was a lot larger and varied. Would also be great if the fat was more specific to include saturated amounts. Would be much better when you want to reduce your saturated fat intake.

### 3/5 — I like it but

*2026-08-22, version 26.33.0*

I like the foundation of this app but it’s not worth a subscription imo it would be if the AI could get the calories accurate but I’ve had to go over least 7 meals I had yesterday n today and correct the calories for them…

Another thing to you can only food and how much water you’ve had not any other drinks n that also adds calories into your diet

I might buy the subscription if it was a lot cheaper but 29.99 for a whole year for something that’s inaccurate? No thank you. Can add my calories up myself and accurately!

### 3/5 — Easy to use but AI and App interactions needs to be better

### 1/5 — kept charging me well after i cancelled my subscription

*2026-08-19, version 26.33.0*

i cancelled my subscription and deleted the app simply because i didn’t need to track my cals anymore, but for months after i’ve been getting monthly charges. i cancelled my subscription in three different places and had to get a new card because the charges didn’t stop

### 1/5 — Hidden charges and emails after account deleted

*2026-08-19, version 26.33.0*

I downloaded this app since it’s the only one I could find that people under 18 can use I started the free trial and when the week was over they never told me it ended or asked me to confirm any payment I figured it was longer than a week 3 days later I opened my cash app and had multiple 30 dollar charges from cal ai I deleted my account and the charges kept coming I deleted my Cash App but I still get emails from cal ai even after I deleted my account

### 1/5 — Paid app

*2026-08-19, version 26.33.0*

Misrepresents that it’s a free app but it’s only a free demo

### 1/5 — Predatory Design to sell your data

*2026-08-18, version 26.32.0*

The app gathers all your information, email, and asks to sync with your health app BEFORE telling you it requires payment for its 3 day free trial.

### 3/5 — Good, could be better

*2026-08-18, version 26.33.0*

I have used this daily for nearly two months. Better than others I’ve tried. Easy to scan foods, track progress, monitor daily calories consumed & expended. I have tried to adjust macro goals and it always reverts to those calculated by the app. Seems an easy fix. Support could be better. Each time I bring this up in detail I get multiple emails saying I didn’t provide info about the problem. Responding directly to the email leads nowhere. I’ll still use because it’s better overall than others, Pal. But it could easily be excellent.

### 2/5 — Slow

*2026-08-18, version 26.32.0*

I paid for it and started working slow

### 1/5 — Cancelled free trial but still got charged

*2026-08-18, version 26.32.0*

I was using the app and decided to test the free trial but ultimately decided against the premium version. I cancelled a day before they’d charge me, yet you guys still charged me?! Please assist me in getting my refund.

### 2/5 — age

*2026-08-18, version 26.32.0*

it says 9+ on the app store but when i download it it says i have to be 18.

### 1/5 — BUG FOUND

*2026-08-18, version 26.32.0*

There’s a bug syncing calorie data with Apple Health. Anything added from my Saved Foods doesn’t get added into my Apple Health calories.

### 2/5 — Money Hungry

*2026-08-18, version 26.32.0*

I understand having to pay to use photo logging but not being able to log at all without paying is a joke

### 1/5 — cost money

*2026-08-18, version 26.32.0*

u gotta pay to use it

### 2/5 — Not to sure about this

*2026-08-17, version 26.32.0*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Forces you to start a trial

*2026-08-26, version 26.34.0*

It forces you to start a trial for 3 days otherwise wouldn’t let you use the app

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2026-08-25, version 26.33.0*

Bought the subscription through their promotion that offered the lifetime subscription as a one off offer. Turned out to be a lie, they kept charging for the subscription.

### 1/5 — Problem with my subscription

*2026-08-24, version 26.33.0*

I purchased an annual subscription to the app, but it was unexpectedly canceled just three days later. After almost 10 back-and-forth emails with customer support, the problem still has not been resolved.

### 1/5 — Not the nest right now

*2026-08-24, version 26.33.0*

App has been tweaking out. Keeps getting basic food thats separated incorrect and have to manually put everything in. Was not that bad before . Even told me 47,000
Calories the other day for some random food. Please fix and resolve this . Paying for it is not worth it if i have to keep manually fixing /inputing everything in

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-08-22, version 26.33.0*

Spent 20 minutes doing the questionnaire and realized it was 30 bucks to track calories

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-08-21, version 26.33.0*

Terrible app with so many bugs

### 1/5 — Not free

*2026-08-20, version 26.33.0*

N

### 1/5 — Paid only

*2026-08-20, version 26.33.0*

People, it’s just an app that tracks a single integer. Do not pay money for this.

### 1/5 — App has major bugs

*2026-08-20, version 26.33.0*

App keeps logging me out after opening it. Calories and macros arent close to all.

### 1/5 — Cheap AI

*2026-08-19, version 26.33.0*

First thing I tried was taking a picture of a Iced Venti Starbucks Sugar Free Protein Latte. I took a picture including the label on the drink. Got calories off (said 180 instead of 280). Protein was way off (said 12 but is actually 40g according to Starbucks website). Went to Claude with the same picture and it got it right. They are using a cheap AI model that is not giving accurate results, especially when the drink nutrition is already online.
