## What is CalcLPM?

CalcLPM is a financial calculator that makes US tax lease pricing easy. The app is ideal for equipment leasing professionals.

Leases: Accurately price and structure 95+% of all U.S. tax leases, including TRAC Leases, EBO Leases, and FMV Leases. Does not handle U.S. tax leases involving ITC or State income taxes, both of which are uncommon.

Yields: Calculates the nominal MISF After-Tax and MISF Before-Tax yields. Also calculates nominal Pre-Tax IRR yield for the before-tax cashflows. Accurate to within +/- 1 basis point of the industry standard pricing software. Yields can range from 0.00% to 20.00%.

Depreciation and Income Tax Profile: Includes (6) MACRS property classes w/ and w/o Bonus Depreciation. The straight-line method w/ and w/o salvage value is also included. First-year conventions include half-year, mid-quarter, and mid-month. Input any Federal tax rate or tax year-end month.

Assets and Lease Terms: Works for assets costing from $10,000 to $10,000,000. Residuals from 0% to 100% of the asset’s cost. Lease terms can range from 12 months to 12 years.  Monthly, quarterly, semiannually, and annually payment frequencies are included.

Rent Structures: Model any rent payment structure from level, low-high, high-low, w/ and w/o interim rent. Payments can be made in advance or in arrears.

Targeting Capabilities & Statistics: Solve for Yield, Fee, Residual, Lessor’s Cost, and Unlocked Rentals. Calculates Inherent Profit, Average Life, & Payback. Implicit Rate and other accounting statistics included.

Fees and EBOs: Add a Fee or an Early Buyout Option to any investment. Calculate Fees as either an expense or as income. EBOs calculated as a spread over the full-term MISF after-tax yield. Again, accurate to +/- 1 basis point.

Termination Values & Reports: Altogether eight (8) standard and nine (9) termination reports are included.

Several bugs fixed. It is no longer possible to enter a 0.00 fee amount.  Fee amounts must be greater than zero.  The Rent Summary report has been modified so the the correct interim payment amount is no shown in dollars and percent of Lessor Cost.

An expanded and improved Help utility.  An updated Rent Summary screen that includes Rents expressed in amounts and in percentages of Lessor Cost.  The Solve For options now use a modified Secant method with a single initial guess and fractional perturbation for faster convergence.
