### 1/5 — Two bugs, reported and no fix

The widget is great except for two critical bugs: when using the "two months at a time" widget, if you click the left arrow to go back one page/month, it actually goes back by 2. So for example, if you're in the Aug-Sep view and click the left arrow, you will now see May-Jun. Reported this to the dev months ago and never got a response.

The other bug is that the arrows on the “two months at a time” widget are displayed over each other and cannot be clicked on macOS 26.

As someone who prefers to see everything at a glance the moment I unlock my phone, this app absolutely nails it. “Calendar – Simple Calendar” lives up to its name in the best way possible: no extra frills, just clean, functional design that works right from the widget screen.

I’m a minimalist when it comes to my setup—pure black wallpaper, distraction-free home screen, and everything optimized for both work and school. This app blends seamlessly with that. The widget adapts beautifully to my background, and it doesn’t scream for attention—yet it delivers exactly what I need.

What really surprised me was the four-month layout in a single large widget. That’s something I’ve rarely—if ever—seen on iOS. Most calendar widgets only show the current month and maybe the next, so having this broader overview is a game-changer for long-term planning.

I’ll admit, I was hesitant at first. The app had zero reviews, and I don’t usually spend on phone apps. But I took a chance—and I’m so glad I did. It does its job perfectly, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations.

I genuinely hope the developer explores similar widget-friendly features for a notes app. That would complete the minimalist, on-the-go setup I’ve been searching for.

Highly recommend this to anyone who wants a no-fuss, elegant calendar widget that actually shows more than just the current month.

The defunct / unupdated “Quick Calendar” widget by Wandle Software is STILL BETTER in terms of readability — font size, colored elements, etc. Been using that one since 2020. Just Calendar’s font is just SO TINY and no way to adjust!! Only advantage it has is the interactive previous/next month switcher but quite useless since you have to squint to see the dates! 🤦‍♂️

I’ll never understand why I can’t make the Apple calendar widget larger in the Notification Center. With this app, I can add a large calendar widget that lets me see the day and the month easily. Worth the $2.  

Request: Add an option to include the year up at the top somewhere. I often scroll back and ahead to see what day a date lines up with (I book speaking events for people) and would like to always be certain what year I am looking at. Thanks!

As a macOS widget, there is no better calendar app! Simple and straightforward is all I want, and this is the only app that delivers!
