### 3/5 — Love it, but it’s buggy

*2026-06-01, version 2.0.13*

This app helps me see my rolling budget exactly in the way I need to! I’ve never overdrafted my bank account since using this app. However, I do wish there was a way to specifically see which planned expenses are never actually attached to a posted charge. ALSO this app has become very buggy lately and is no longer pulling charges from my connected account 95% of the time, even when I manually refresh for reconciliation. I’ve updated the app and still doesn’t resolve. I’ve even disconnected and reconnected my bank account, with no resolve. I hate paying for a feature that rarely works….

### 4/5 — Glitchy?

*2026-05-17, version 2.0.11*

This will be the perfect app for what I need budget-wise, but it is super laggy and I have had to shut it down several times because it got stuck loading. Hoping this is just because I am setting things up and that takes longer for the system to process?

### 3/5 — Updates..

*2026-04-23, version 2.0.10*

Been using CalendarBudget for close to 10 years since before they launched their app. To date it’s still the best tool I have available. But God, it seems like every time they update it it solves one problem and creates two new ones.

### 4/5 — Receipt verification

*2026-03-12, version 2.0.8*

Unfortunately, after taking a picture of my receipt, I am unable to view it. Upon touching image, it does not allow me to view my receipt that was scanned in by my camera. Please look into this to better assist this app to being a great app. Thank you.

### 4/5 — Almost perfect…

*2025-08-10*

Love the payment reminders and bank feed—super helpful and better than my old budgeting app. My only complaints: the “eye” icon in bank reconciliation doesn’t hide reconciled transactions on mobile (so I have to scroll way back to find current ones), i reached out through the website, but no one got back to me. I also wish there were more customization options (calendar colors (not just the categories), option to put emojis in titles, duplicate transactions). Fix those and it’s a perfect 5 stars!

### 4/5 — Exceptional and would love to see its development

*2025-07-25, version 1.0.79*

This is one of the easiest and most practical budgeting apps I’ve used. The interface is clean and intuitive. I love being able to categorize entries as recurring income, expenses, or payments, and having all my accounts displayed in one calendar view with daily balances shown directly on each date, not just as a heading or a single snapshot. That visual layout makes budgeting feel way less overwhelming.

A few areas could use improvement:
	•	Apple Sign-In: It shouldn’t require signing in every session. Persistent login would save time and frustration.
	•	App Stability: I’ve noticed occasional background crashes when switching apps.
	•	Smart Suggestions: This could really be next-level if it introduced predictive budgeting alerts. For example, a notification like:
“This month, you’re projected to be short by $85. You’ve put $300 toward savings recently, consider moving $100 from [Account Name] to cover your shortfall.”
That kind of automated insight would make it a true financial assistant, not just a tracker.

One concern: the monthly subscription price feels steep compared to similar apps. While I haven’t found another app that matches this one’s simplicity and visual clarity, it’s still hard to justify the ongoing cost without more robust features like the ones mentioned above. A lifetime purchase option or a more affordable tier could make a big difference.

Overall, great potential. Just needs a few key upgrades to really justify the price tag.

### 2/5 — Updates Don’t Save

*2025-01-31, version 1.0.74*

When I make updates to my calendar, it shows that it has saved, but it does not. I would totally love this app if it worked right. I thought I had found the perfect one!

### 2/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2024-03-21, version 1.0.70*

This is almost exactly what I was looking for but the app is buggy and doesn’t work as intended. The screen gets stuck on loading after every other entry requiring the user to force close and re-launch. All of the options for the transactions, including recurring and categorization won’t pull up. When I go to select one of these options, I can see a side bar attempt to open, but it never quite makes it. Fairly useless as is, but I hope the developer keeps working on it.

### 3/5 — Constant getting stuck on loading

*2024-02-22, version 1.0.70*

I used this app a while ago and it worked perfectly. ADHD I can’t manage to stick with things. However, I redownloaded it and now every time I try to add any type of transaction it freezes on the loading page. I saw another review stating the same thing, but they were told the bug was fixed in an update, but it’s still happening. Please fix!!

### 5/5 — 99% Perfect!

*2024-02-19, version 1.0.70*

Almost flawless! This calendar budget tells you exactly when to save and spend money! This is the upgrade version of “budgetapp” which i was using for several years, they are very similar. However, need to change feature on balance correction. I had to use my calculator first to know much i need to enter in order to adjust the amount. Please developer, make changes on this where you can just enter the actual amount only not the amount needed to be deducted. Also please change the color background and icons and the main icon of the app with light colors if possible. Thank you!

### 4/5 — Please Fix!

*2023-08-26, version 1.0.69*

This is the exact kind of calendar I’ve been searching for since switching from Samsung to Apple. I like how the balance updates by the day vs the whole month! However, every time I save a transaction the next screen gets stuck on “Loading.” Any way to fix this?

### 2/5 — Helpful but…

*2023-07-14, version 1.0.64*

I used to love this app. I love that you can set up recurring payments and charges. It has been very helpful in managing my accounts. One of the most recent updates, unfortunately, has made the app have the circle of death after every entry. This means I have to force shut down and reopen the app to continue my entries and repeat until I have entered everything. This takes forever.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — More expansive

*2026-05-17, version 2.0.11*

88$/month or 688$/year

### 1/5 — Tarif

*2026-04-16, version 2.0.10*

89$/mois ou 600$/an bien trop cher

### 1/5 — Update ruined app

*2026-04-04, version 2.0.8*

Ive been with what was called calendarbudget for more than a decade and with the new update I cant use the app. I constantly have to go online :/ this is my daily tool. I put my daily purchases into this app to keep track. I dont know what happened, but I need this fixed ASAP…

### 1/5 — Do not update, unstable

*2026-02-04, version 2.0.7*

The last version was unstable but this version where they introduced dark mode is even more unstable. After updating then opening the new version for the first time the app will hang and you have to force close it. Then every time you open the app and add a transaction, the same thing will happen after every transaction or just randomly. The website is a piece of sh- as well and most of the time doesn’t render on Chrome or Safari if you’re using a Mac , but I’ve been using this for years and it’s the only tool on the market that kinda works.

### 1/5 — Original member

*2025-10-06, version 2.0.1*

I absolutely am not a fan of the new update. You’re not able to update your balance by clicking the balance any longer without doing a new entry. Please don’t fix things are not broken. I don’t feel like relearning a whole new app every time I feel like updating something.

### 1/5 — Help

*2024-09-10, version 1.0.72*

Hi. It looks like an update hasnt been done in over 5 months. Will one be coming soon?

### 1/5 — Can’t update payment method

*2023-12-12*

Trying to update my payment method with a new card on their third party site and it refuses to process or save my information. Reached out to CalendarBudget support and just got redirected to their vendor’s support instead. The payment site’s support just gave me a copy/paste response about how to update my payment method; completely ignoring my submission that specifically stated I was already following the correct process. At this rate, I will just cancel my subscription.. really disappointed to see stuff like this outsourced after being a Founder for so many years.

**Developer response:** Hi Solieyes. Payment for our system is handled by either our 3rd party payment system or through Apple Pay. I remember your question from the support system and it sounded like you were all set. If you're still having any problems, we're here to help!

### 1/5 — Long Standing Bugs and loss of use

*2023-07-24, version 1.0.64*

This was such a game changer app for my personal finances and planning but a month or so ago the app started crashing after every input and the categorization function disappeared completely.

The makers offered a month free for a data loss issue but if these issues aren’t fixed, I can’t continue to pay a monthly subscription for the current level of usability.

Truly sad to see what’s happened here…

### 1/5 — They cannot fix a simple issue

*2023-07-01*

I love this app and recommend to my friends. However couple weeks ago, they released a new version without testing properly and now iPhones have to deal with this bug that hangs after every change. You need to quit the app and open again to be able to do anything.

First of all, how could you miss testing one of the most basic function of this app before release. Second, it’s been a month and no fix yet. They blame the Apple Store for not letting them release another version without payment option in the app. On top of all, they lost some data around 2 days, if you did update your calendar payments during that time, your data is gone back to how it was. They offered to reimburse for one month which is not enough in my opinion.

At this rate whoever is in charge of this product if there is any, is doing terrible job and I am about to move to another app if they cannot fix this iPhone issue soon.

**Developer response:** Hi KeroBero07, Sometimes bad things (out of our control) happen and its how we deal with problems that speaks to our characters. When we had an unforeseen server hardware issue, we acted as quickly as we could and communicated that to our users immediately. Because of our data management practices, we were able to restore from a recent backup and only 1 day of data was lost (and only for some accounts), which, for most people was a minimal effect, thankfully. Regarding the recent issue with our IOS app, yes there was a problem. Again we communicated this to our users, offered a workaround and worked with Apple to get our app updated as soon as we could, dropping everything else until it was solved. Now, with all of these issues resolved, the app and service are running great. We feel we couldn't have handled things better. No one wants to have a problem with their technology (and neither do we), but sometimes problems occur, and as long as we communicate, offer workarounds and resolve the issues as soon as humanly possible, there not much more than can be asked.

### 1/5 — Broken Version

*2023-06-27, version 1.0.64*

Ever since the update I’ve only been able to submit one entry at a time, then have to force close the app and reopen it to enter another. The app crashed last week and lost data entered after a certain time and I had to re-enter all my data, if I had or did miss anything, I’m going to end up losing more than $5, which is what they’re reimbursing people affected, but the app hasn’t been working properly for probably around 3 weeks, so I’m considering dropping it and just going back to budgeting myself. If they can get it fixed before my next billing cycle I’ll stay, but there are a ton of options out there.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Has come a long way

*2026-07-26, version 2.0.14*

I never post reviews but was looking at the 1 stars reviews here to see what people are complaining about and most are years old. This app has really been awesome for awhile now. Guess it had a buggy update in the past and people post negative reviews about it.

### 5/5 — Honestly the best

*2026-07-15, version 2.0.14*

Help!!! I rely HEAVILY on this app, I really do love it - problem is this morning, the app isn’t working and neither is the website!!! What happened???
Did you guys shut it down?

Old update:
Someone got back to me and fixed a syncing issue with my bank so now I only see recent bank transactions that haven’t been reconciled. I honestly love this app! It gives me such peace of mind and keeps my finances organized which with my crazy schedule (two full time jobs and college + my family and running my household). It has been a complete game changer and has freed my anxiety over money. I can now plan how much extra I can put towards debt in the future and keep my spending in check when I see a category like “food” (eating out/doordash) get out of hand. A lot of those things can get out of hand when you’re not paying attention. I honestly cannot tell you how much this app has saved me. Thank you to the developers, hopefully you never discontinue it.

### 5/5 — Simple and useful

*2025-06-26, version 1.0.79*

I wanted something that shows me incomes and expenses on a daily basis and can forecast what it would look like in the future. This is it. Been using it for years and have yet to find a reason to look at another option.

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2025-06-13, version 1.0.78*

Exactly what I was looking for. Easy to use. See all you finances on one easy to view monthly calendar. Member for life!

### 5/5 — Superb

*2025-04-21, version 1.0.75*

A great visual representation of my finances . Being 75 makes budgeting a breeze

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2025-04-11, version 1.0.75*

I’ve been using this app for years and am part of the Founders Club. I’ve tried SO many budgeting apps and I always end up staying with CB!

I love the forecasting out 10 years, so I can model TBD items to see if I can afford it. Of course, the calendar view is awesome!

I do wish it had categories & sub-categories for better grouping & it would be nice to see it also in an almost spreadsheet view by those major categories - but, you can export to CSV.

They are very responsive as well! They listen to feedback & next you know, it’s implemented!

Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-02-10, version 1.0.75*

Makes my life tracking finances so much easier!

### 5/5 — ADHD Power Tool

*2024-02-21, version 1.0.70*

As someone who has struggled with managing my finances for as long as I can remember this app has saved me!!

I love that I can pre-fill all of my proposed/scheduled bills and expenses and I can see exactly how much will be in my account on any given day. I don’t use the budgeting features much, but being able to see my projected balance has helped me decide when I could and could not make that extra “fun” purchase.

It has also helped me save for the first time in my life! Love love love this app and will recommend to anyone
