## What is Calends?

Most of us don't have one calendar, we have a pile of them. Work, personal, your partner's, the kids' school and teams, plus everything you subscribe to. Apple Calendar can show them together, but it can't fold them into a single calendar you own, sync everywhere, and hand to someone else.

Calends does. It takes the calendars you already see in Apple Calendar, work accounts (Outlook, Exchange, Google), iCloud, subscribed feeds, and merges them into one master calendar that lives right inside Apple Calendar. Keep it to yourself, or share it with anyone.

Build as many as you need, each showing exactly what its audience should see:

• One family calendar, every school, sports, and activity feed, plus both parents' schedules, on everyone's devices.
• Your whole work schedule for your partner, on-call, clinic, shifts, travel, as one calendar they simply subscribe to.
• Just enough for colleagues and assistants, or share BUSY-ONLY, so they see when you're free to meet, never the details. You can even replace "Busy" with a label of your choosing.

WHAT MAKES CALENDS DIFFERENT
Calends never logs into your accounts. No OAuth, no password, nothing for IT to approve, it only reads what your device already syncs into Apple Calendar. That's why it works even in locked-down workplaces, universities, hospitals, finance, government, where calendar apps that ask to sign in are blocked. And there's no monthly subscription: it runs entirely on your device.

- Calendars that one of your devices can't read, such as a work account that only works on your Mac, now appear in the master's calendar list with a note saying which device keeps them up to date, instead of quietly not appearing at all.
- Calendars can only be removed from a master once nothing has read them for a while, so a work calendar your phone simply can't see is never
offered for removal there.

Calendars shared as "busy" can now show their all-day events in full. Useful when your work calendar has all-day entries naming a city or marking time off: those keep their names, while your meetings stay private. Turn it on per calendar in the master's settings.

- Some calendars (most often work Exchange) accounts) could be missing from the calendar pickers. Calends now refreshes its account list and scans every account thoroughly before listing your calendars.
- New: a "Copy calendar diagnostics" button in About Calends (ⓘ), so if a calendar is ever missing, support can pinpoint why in one paste.
- Fixed: the trial-reminder calendar no longer comes back after you delete it.
- Safer syncing across devices: if one of your devices can't read a source calendar (for example, a work account that only exists on your Mac), that device now keeps the merged calendar's events instead of removing them, and leaves cleanup to a device that can see everything.

• See where every event comes from — a new option adds the source calendar's name to the notes of each event in a shared calendar.

• Hide events by keyword — a new "Hide events matching" filter keeps an event in its own calendar while leaving it out of the shared one. Perfect for dropping noise like "Lunch," or removing a single event.

• Custom busy label — show "Unavailable," "Reserved," or any word you choose instead of "Busy," per calendar.

• Per-source settings now sync reliably across your Mac, iPhone, and iPad — including busy-only, keywords, and labels.

• Plan further ahead — shared calendars now cover the next 18 months, up from 12.

• Smarter defaults, an in-app version number, and assorted polish.

Welcome to Calends 2.0 — the biggest update yet. Thank you for using Calends.

• Now on iPad. Calends is a universal app — iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
• Much faster, and it never freezes. Building and refreshing your calendars now happens completely in the background, so the app stays smooth even with lots of calendars selected on a busy account.
• Share your availability. Set any calendar to BUSY-ONLY so people see when you're booked, without seeing what or who.
• Per-calendar privacy. Choose full detail or busy-only for each calendar that feeds a master.
• Same-name calendars, handled. If two calendars share a name, Calends now uses exactly the one you pick on each device.
• More reliable everywhere. Masters build dependably on iPhone, deleting a master sticks across all your devices, and a clearer "Syncing…" indicator shows when Calends is working — plus a heads-up when background sync may be slower on battery.
