### 2/5 — Good app, terrible offline

*2026-09-06*

This app handles spotty connectivity terribly. There is no good reason for most of the functionality to need to always be online. Just save it on device and sync when you’re back online. This is a solved problem in most other apps!

### 4/5 — So far I love it

*2026-09-02, version 5.16.0*

Just started using this app and I love it. I do wish they would include stretches for the workouts so no injuries happen. It would be extremely knowledgeable for beginners and advanced workouts.

### 4/5 — Give an option to change name of freestyle workouts

*2026-08-30*

Will change to five stars

**Developer response:** You should actually be able to do this! Once you complete a Freestyle workout, and save it as a template, just go to Plans and then tap the 3 dots next to the saved workout template there to rename it to whatever you like.

### 2/5 — It’s okay

*2026-07-28, version 5.15.1*

Free version is okay but you really can’t do too much at all with it without the premium version. Probably be better off just googling some plans if you don’t want to pay. Not bad though

### 4/5 — Not for me

*2026-07-15, version 5.14.1*

I’ve been working out for about 10 years now and never tried an app so this was my first experience and I really didn’t like it. It’s so overly complicated. I am only in my 30s so I know how to use a phone but I was basically spending half my workout messing with the app, it was really wasting my gym time. Have you ever heard of cognitive overload? So overwhelming all the different screens, buttons, small fonts at time. Didn’t work for me at all and their contact us button didn’t work either so I couldn’t even get help. Canceling my free trial now. The app itself is built really well, great job developers. UI/UX could use some work

### 5/5 — Great to track progress

*2026-07-08, version 5.14.0*

This app has helped me improve with its tracking and range of exercises

### 5/5 — Best Workout App I have used to date!

*2026-07-06, version 5.14.0*

This is a you get what you pay for situation. It is more expensive than some maybe used to. It just depends on what your goals are. If you want to work closely with a professional trainer that can help you tailor your diet and workout plans to ensure maxim results in minimum time, this is a great way to do that. If your primary concern is something cheap, this may not be the best option for you. If top notch customer service, quality trainers, and workout plans that will get you in phenomenal shape, make the investment in yourself. I promise you won’t be sorry.

### 5/5 — NIce!

*2026-07-06*

I tried a basic 3-month subscription and really enjoyed the experience. Daily communication with my coach, advice, follow-ups, encouragement, varied programs, attentive to my needs. Thanks Marquez, let's go for another 3 months! :-)

### 5/5 — Fave app

*2026-06-29, version 5.13.2*

I’ve never left an app review before but I just had to let you know that I bloody love this app. It’s kept me consistent in the gym for the first time in my life and I’ve gained so much confidence. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Best Fitness App

*2026-06-29, version 5.13.2*

Best, affordable, user-friendly app that I have come across. I love the workout tracker, workout library, and all of the other features!

### 5/5 — Great value

*2026-06-28, version 5.13.2*

Reasonably priced app to track progress

### 5/5 — Best fitness app!

*2026-06-27*

I’ve used Caliber for the past 3 years and it’s simply amazing! I appreciate how customisable it is and also very easy to track your progress with the weights/reps history. Another plus is the break timer to keep me on track. I recommend this app to all my friends and family, it’s simply the best! Keep up the good work 💪🏼🔥

### 5/5 — 5 star

*2026-06-23*

Great app to log training. Recommend it.

### 5/5 — Best FREE fitness app

*2026-06-21, version 5.13.1*

This one about the only fitness app I could find that had all the features I wanted for the price off FREE! Easy to follow a trainer’s program tailored to your liking, and you can add/delete certain workouts as needed.

### 5/5 — This has been a really great journey!

*2026-06-21, version 5.13.1*

I have used Caliber in every tier available , from the free version to the live coaching premium, and I cannot recommend it enough! Overall design and features are conducive to beginners as well as persons who have advanced in their fitness knowledge and want greater flexibility and customization in building workouts. I have worked with trainer Jonathan Swenson for a year and a half now. With him I have not only have I accomplished significant body recomposition and strength gains, but I have a knowledge foundation that will serve me for the rest of my fitness journey. This is all a result of Jonathan‘s positive and supportive approach, quick response time, and honest and productive feedback. I highly recommend working with Jonathan Swenson if you go to the premium coaching route! Thanks Caliber and thanks, Jonathan!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-06-19, version 5.13.1*

I have been using caliber and it has made my workouts more enjoyable and efficient.

### 2/5 — Great coach but meh app

*2026-06-16, version 5.13.1*

My coach is excellent. I really enjoy that part of the experience. The app, not so much. It’s got lots of oddities that make it feel unpolished. I did take the time to share extensive feedback with them but the company seems focused on big shiny objects instead of quality-of-life stuff that makes day to day use, data entry easier. Before you commit to $4500/year for coaching do your self a favor and play with the app during real workouts, so you can experience the many paper cuts.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Definitely not free

*2026-08-07, version 5.15.1*

Per the add it’s free when I download it was actually only a free trial. The price is not that bad so I signed up for the free trial just to check it out and see if it’s worth it. When I clicked free trial it immediately charged me $19.99

### 1/5 — Scam likely

*2026-07-18, version 5.14.1*

It’s not free like they said it was In The ad

### 1/5 — Can you overcomplicate an app more than this? I say no!

*2026-06-25, version 5.13.2*

It’s a classic case of engineering logic overriding human behavior.

Obviously there are many people that love this app, I am clearly not their target and I don’t have the time or patience to invest that this app requires just to create a simple workout and track it.

### 1/5 — unintuitive

*2026-04-29, version 5.12.2*

let me lookup workouts without having to be interrogated. ridiculous that i have to answer 15+ questions, make an account, and still not be able to intuitively find exercises that workout the muscle groups i want

### 1/5 — Features keep going behind a paywall

*2026-03-18, version 5.12.2*

Typical modern ensh*tified program that tries to push you into a subscription. There’s now very little benefit of this over a spreadsheet on your phone.

### 1/5 — Not a physiologically grounded training program

*2026-03-13*

I had an introduction call to see whether the training program was the right fit for me. During this call I was told repeatedly that the program would be adjusted based on my specific needs and goals. I then signed up and paid for the first month and was connected with a trainer. We had a kickoff call and I was very explicit about my goals. On the call she mentioned a few things that were irrelevant to my specific situation but I kind of rushed it off like standard protocol. However the following day she delivered a training program that was clearly not aligned with what I was looking to accomplish. There also was information that was not appropriate, as it aligned more with cultural norms than scientific evidence. It is my expectation as an athlete to treat my body with the utmost diligence and what was being suggested would have been remarkably harmful. I push back but it was clear that their philosophy was rooted in something other than physiological adaption. Their program may be OK for somebody who is needing to lose a significant amount of weight or is currently inactive, but if you are reasonably healthy and understand how your body uniquely works then I would seriously suggest not risking this program. I also had to email three times in order for them to process the refund.

**Developer response:** Very sorry to hear this! From what you mentioned, it sounds like there was a misalignment with your coach as you were starting out with the program, and that you weren't happy with the initial workout plan they had set up for you.

To clarify here, we've worked with 1000s of people successfully, including many people who have a lot of experience already, so if you would like to give our program another try with a different coach please just reach out to support@caliberstrong.com and we'll be happy to help further from there.

### 1/5 — Cardio isn’t free

*2026-02-13, version 5.12.0*

Concept seemed great, but you can’t log any cardio workouts on the free version so it’s useless to me. The home page is way too busy and it’s hard to figure out how to add a workout in the first place. I like the idea of the various communities but I wish you could make your own for anyone to join. The busy interface mixed with the lack of cardio options on the free version makes it not worth it in my opinion.

### 1/5 — Deceptive marketing

*2026-02-11, version 5.12.0*

Another scammy app. Advertises that it’s free, but you only get a 7-day free trial. Maybe be more truthful in your marketing. Scam artist

### 1/5 — SCAM APP

*2026-02-01, version 5.11.1*

Absolutely DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE APP!! Trust me you’ll thank me later

### 1/5 — Paywall

*2026-01-30, version 5.11.1*

All features are behind a paywall.

Edit Response to developer: That is blatantly untrue. Anytime you try do anything in the app you are prompted with upgrade to plus.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A1 coaching/accompaniment

*2026-08-28*

I’ve worked out for 3 months with coaching of Marquez. And even though it was virtual and through text messages, I always received quick replies with useful advice, both for nutrition and for my workout. Marquez was attentive to how I was feeling about the training sessions and made the necessary adjustments, tailored to the equipment I have in my home gym

### 5/5 — It’s more than a workout planner

*2026-08-28, version 5.16.0*

I’d highly recommend Caliber to anyone. I’d say I’m recommending the whole plan more than the app. It helps you understand how to body works, has in depth videos on how to do the workouts, but most of all, it has trainers. And the trainers make all the difference. Meeting with them, learning with them and helping them keep you accountable is really what makes this program stand out.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-08-12, version 5.15.1*

I really like the Caliber app. It’s super easy to use and tracks your workouts and nutrition. I like having weekly calls with your coach and the additional support. I highly recommend Caliber.

### 5/5 — Highly recommend!!

*2026-08-11, version 5.15.1*

I have the premium/coaching version of the app & I’ve really enjoyed my time working with my coach Kirsten! She’s taught me so much & answers all of my questions thoroughly & thoughtfully. She is very knowledgeable on both exercise & nutrition which are both important to my goals. The video chats are very helpful as well. They have great flexible renewal options after the initial 3 month coaching period which I will likely use in the future once I make some more progress on my own. The tracking functions on the app are super helpful as well which I will continue using after my coaching subscription ends.

### 5/5 — Caliber: Strength Training

*2026-08-05, version 5.15.1*

This app is free! I put in my workout regime, it remembers and tracks everything I input.

### 5/5 — Ideal for Anyone

*2026-07-30, version 5.15.1*

I’ve been working out for the better part of 17 years and since having children struggled to get my weight back under control, manage a consistent workout routine, and set up macro targets that would support my goals.

Caliber did all of this with ease. They helped me lose weight, gain confidence, and establish my routine.

Admittedly this is not a cheap service. I was forced to cut them because of financial constraints. But my time with them was highly valuable and I have no regrets for it.

If times were different I’d wish to complete the program and my goals with their support but the rest of my journey is in my hands alone. I still use the free services in the app to keep track of my progress.

Give them a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-07-27, version 5.15.1*

The app is designed for beginners all the way up to advanced. The overviews are extremely helpful and the information the app provides is excellent and easy to follow.

### 5/5 — Great Experience

*2026-07-21, version 5.15.0*

I chose the middle tier, and I was thrilled with my experience. I worked with Grant Slama. He was very encouraging. He communicated well and laid out the plan clearly. The app is easy to use and makes it nearly impossible not to achieve your goals. I hope to renew in the future.

### 5/5 — Real coaching, not just an app

*2026-07-15, version 5.14.1*

I spent a year training on my own before joining Caliber, and having a real coach has been night and day. My coach, Sawleh, built my program from my actual training history — not just a quick intake call — and recorded a personal video walking me through the plan and the reasoning behind it. He's genuinely responsive in the app, we do monthly strategy calls, and the programming adapts as I go. He even gave me the confidence to finally pick up free weights after a year of machines. If you've plateaued training solo, Caliber is absolutely worth it.

### 5/5 — Great Tracking Tool

*2026-07-09, version 5.14.0*

I’ve been using Caliber for over 3yr now and have been extremely satisfied with the APP. From planning to tracking and choice of exercises from beginner to advanced. Highly recommend Caliber
