Also, .m4b files need to be added to the supported formats list. ### 4/5 — It’s working *2026-01-16, version 2.0.15* I don’t know if there was a recent update, but it is working well now. Glad I kept it installed. The interface is a little clunky but I found my way around. I appreciate the free version and may upgrade to get compatibility with Google Drive. ### 1/5 — Pointless *2024-10-27* This app is not a reader. It’s just an interface for Calibre Content Server. You still save the ebook manually to your iPad files and then have to open them manually with an actual ebook reader. Apparently (and unintentionally) I “bought” a 1 year subscription at a cost of $14.99. I had the app for about 5 minutes and cancelled. But I was denied a refund, according to Apple, due to this vendor’s “policy”. I did not like the app, but the refusal to refund my 5 minutes of use, is egregious. In checking them out, I also discovered that their website is for sale. So it’s obvious that they are failing and keeping every penny they gather, honestly or not. Apple should not be dealing with this type of vendor. ### 1/5 — Do not buy *2023-09-10* Despite having a subscription now has ads and is not syncing ### 1/5 — Premium member now I get ADDS *2023-04-25* I pay an annual fee. Today April 19, 2023, bloody ads start popping up all over the app. This app is clunky but it works. So much for the premium features. Any app that bothers to try is able to load and view these files, but this app appears to have no concept at all of local files. I use it for manuals & technical documents (often in PDF format). In my experience, the developer is very responsive & open to suggestions. I have tried numerous others & this was by far the best, for me anyway. It does require some investment of time to get the most out of it, which may be the reason for lower scores by some, although I would probably agree it’s not always the most intuitive, this is probably, partly due to the breadth of functionality. ### 5/5 — Great app *2022-11-26, version 2.0.15* I have had Calibre on my laptop for years and have recently installed Calibre Companion on my iPad. So easy to start the Calibre content server on my laptop and connect the iPad via Calibre Companion then download books for reading on that device.
