## What is CaliForma?

CaliForma watches your calisthenics through the camera and tells you what happened: how many reps, which ones counted, how deep you went, and what to fix next time. Everything runs on your phone. No video leaves the device unless you choose to share a clip.

TRAIN WITH THE CAMERA
Prop up your phone, get into position, and go. CaliForma counts push-ups, pull-ups, dips, squats, pistol squats, muscle-ups and handstand push-ups, judges depth and lockout, and calls out the fault that matters most: hips sagging, a rushed descent, uneven knees. Static holds are timed and graded too: planche leans, tuck planche, L-sit, frog stand and crow pose. Voice cues keep you in the set instead of looking at the screen.

LEARN SKILLS STEP BY STEP
Skill ladders take you from your first incline push-up toward planche, front lever, handstand and muscle-up, one measured step at a time. Each step shows what it trains, the form cues that matter, and what to fix when it isn't working.

FOLLOW A PLAN
Answer a short interview and get a starter program matched to your level, equipment and training days. Sessions land on your calendar with the reps, holds and rest built in. Guided cardio intervals, logged sets and weights for gym work, and a weekly volume view over what you actually did.

SEE WHAT YOU TRAINED
Every movement knows its primary and assisting muscles. The Progress tab shades an anatomical figure by the sets you logged this week and lists where the work went, so an unbalanced week is visible before it becomes a sore shoulder.

WORK WITH A COACH
Connect to a coach with an invite link. Share the clips you choose, get feedback on specific reps, receive plans built for you, and message your coach in the app. Coaches use the CaliForma Coach app on the Mac.

HONEST MEASUREMENT
CaliForma tells you when it could not see the bottom of a rep rather than guessing, and counts a shallow rep as a rep while marking it as such. Three strictness tiers let beginners and strict-form athletes use the same tools.

PRIVACY
Pose analysis happens on the device. Your account holds your results, your plan and your interview answers; you can export or delete all of it from Settings at any time.

CaliForma is free. Pro features arrive in a later release.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.40 — 2026-10-10

Minor fixes to set preservation and first version of light mode.

### 1.1.38 — 2026-10-07

Track your body
• Progress now has a Training side and a Body side. Body shows your weight as a trend line with your plan's phases shaded, a picker for every measurement you log, and a finger on the chart reads any day.
• Logging is a guided walk: a figure shows where the tape goes, Done moves to the next measurement, an empty field is a skip, and "Same as last time" fills it.
• Progress photos in the same frame every time: an outline to stand in, your last photo faintly over the picture, a level hint. Compare two dates with the bodies aligned. Photos stay a screen away, so handing your phone round shows no picture.
• A weekly weigh-in reminder.

Check-ins from your coach
• Your coach's check-in forms land on Today on their day: scale questions, weight, a photo, a habit, and camera tests that run on the set screen and come back with the count, the clean reps and the score.
• Answers save as you go, a test or a photo can be skipped for now with a reason, a reminder comes on the due day, and your coach's reply shows under the check-in. Your trends are on Progress.
• Check-ins replace habits. Your habit answers are kept.

Your coach's own movements
• A movement your coach filmed shows in your plan with their clip and cues, like any other.

In the workout
• The rest keeps counting while you are in another app, and a notification tells you when it is over.
• Closing a workout, finishing an exercise early or skipping one asks first once sets are done.

Camera
• The front lens picture is upright again on the set screen.

### 1.1.31 — 2026-09-26

New layout
• Calendar has its own tab, between Workouts and Progress.

Your history, on every phone
• Your workouts and camera sessions come back from your account when you sign in on a new phone or after reinstalling.
• Signing out no longer shows your training to the next person; signing back in brings it back.

Warm-ups and core
• Warm-ups start with dynamic moves like lunges with a twist, inchworms and leg swings.
• Many more core movements in coach and generated plans, from bird dogs and supermans to side planks and mountain climbers.

Progress
• Your workouts come first: each finished workout opens to what you planned against what you did, and "All workouts" lists every one by month, with search.
• Muscles this week: push, pull, legs and core open to their muscles and the sets each got.

Coach feedback
• Your coach's verdict now comes in four levels, from "Great" to "Form needs work", with wording for holds as well as reps.

Camera
• Tuck planche holds are recognised when your knees are tucked below your hips or hidden behind your arms, and sagging hips are pointed out.

Fixes
• Every form tip the camera gives now has its own explanation.
• Signing in works even if your email has a space before or after it.

### 1.1.26 — 2026-09-23

Simplified camera setup

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-22

Small updates on visuals and camera handling fixes.
