## What is California Traffic Cameras?

Disclaimer: This unofficial app does not represent Caltrans and is not affiliated with Caltrans. The source of the data is the publicly accessible Caltrans Commercial Wholesale Web Portal located at https://cwwp2.dot.ca.gov

Browse Caltrans traffic cameras, lane and road closures, chain control info, and changeable message signs throughout California.

All road info and Caltrans traffic cameras are on a Google Map with the current traffic layer. Choose from Regular, Satellite, Hybrid, or Terrain maps.

The user can locate the Apple WeatherKit features in the app by first panning, zooming, swiping, or rotating the map's center to the location where a current weather measurement and/or hour-by-hour forecast is desired. The map's center is represented as the blue pin. Tap the blue button at the bottom of the map titled "Weather at Blue Pin" to view the location's current weather conditions in an alert view pop-over. The hour-by-hour forecast is accesible from this pop-over. NOTE: If the user taps a red or brown camera, work, or sign pin, it will centered, and the blue pin will go over-top the red incident pin. The pin will show a rectangular callout. That callout can be tapped to see further details. However, if the weather is desired, tap the blue button at the bottom of the map titled "Weather at Blue Pin".

### 1/5 — Cameras NOT Viewable

*2023-01-01*

Your app is CRAP!!!
NONE of the cameras showed any video AT ALL!

**Developer response:** Hey, what sector of California are you looking at?

### 1/5 — Live

*2020-06-17*

I want video feed not still images

**Developer response:** Sorry, maybe in the future I will look into video feeds.

### 5/5 — Awesome!!!

*2019-12-01*

This is the kind of app that we need more of!!! Quick, to the point, responsive. Great job!!!

### 3/5 — Just pics?

*2018-11-30*

Is it supposed to be live feed our just pictures?

**Developer response:** Just pictures right now.

### 1/5 — CRAP

*2017-07-13*

Second review in response to your e mail I downloaded the updated version and all cameras are still BLACK.

**Developer response:** "All" cameras are not black. Cameras can be black for police activity, maintenance, etc. The same goes for the official Caltrans Quick Map app. In some places, like the downtown LA area, I agree, many of the cameras are black or white with no image, but that does change, and that is documented in the app in the Readme section. Check out the 24-hour camera archive on some cameras and see that they go from black to working and back to black. It's sometimes useful to know for what periods a camera goes black. This situation may improve in the future.

### 5/5 — Wanna see what's happening b4 u go??

*2016-11-01*

This a great app to check traffic before it happens. If you'll gotta check times before you do a photo shoot in LA, ayyy this is yo app.

### 5/5 — Great app just got better

*2015-12-31*

The developer is responsive, fixes issues right away, explains future developments and replies quickly. Easily worth the .99 cents. I'll be purchasing his California Wild Fire app as soon as fire season hits again.

### 1/5 — Ad free???

*2015-12-24*

I paid .99 for the "ad free version". I STILL have ads! What's up?

**Developer response:** Please try the latest version. If you want a refund, I'd be happy to give you one.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2015-12-14*

Works well, very responsive developer

### 1/5 — Live ?

*2015-11-21*

Said live not live cams

**Developer response:** I've changed the wording to reflect this now. Traffic camera images from Caltrans are, in many cases, a minute or less old.
