## What is Callbook?

Callbook is a private notebook for your return visits, your Bible studies and your hours.

FREE, AND OPEN
Callbook is free. Create an account with an e-mail and a password, Continue with Apple, or Sign in with Google, and you are in — there is no invitation and nobody to approve you.

Everything is stored encrypted on this iPhone. Your account is a name on the door, not a copy of your notes: it holds nothing you write, and there are no analytics. Sync between devices is optional, and what it uploads is sealed with a key derived from your password.

PEOPLE
Name, address, phone, usual day and territory. Search by any of them, and sort by territory to work through it in one go.

VISITS AND STUDIES
Every call keeps its own history. Mark someone as a study and it gets its own thread, so you can see at a glance who you are behind with and who is expecting you this week.

HOURS
Jot down your time the moment you have it — ministry, construction (LDC), Bethel or other — and the month keeps the running total for you. Credit hours count toward what you report without ever trimming ministry, and a regular pioneer's month stops at 55 the way the arrangement says it should.

GOALS
600 hours a year for regular pioneers, shown as the pace the rest of the year needs rather than a flat monthly average. 30 in the month for auxiliary, 100 every month for special. Publishers get no goal and no ceiling — log hours if you want them, or don't.

THE REPORT
The month in exactly the shape the form asks for, ready to copy or send as a small text file. No names in it, ever.

PRIVACY
The database is encrypted with SQLCipher and unlocked by a passphrase only you know. That also means nobody can recover it for you — not even us. Optional sync between devices is sealed with a key derived from that passphrase, so what is stored in Google's Firebase is opaque to Google as well as to us.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.2 — 2026-09-22

• The stopwatch no longer punishes you for tapping it late. You start at a
door, the phone is still in your pocket, and the ten minutes before you remembered were served all
the same. While a run is going, Today now shows the hour it began — tap it and move the start back,
five minutes at a time, by how late you were, or straight to the hour you know. The run keeps
counting the whole time and nothing is written down until you stop it.

• The lock screen and the Home Screen widget follow the correction in place, so the same run is
the same run wherever you look at it.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-09-17

• Opening Callbook now takes about a second.

Turning your password into the key that unlocks your callbook is the same calculation it has always been, at the same strength. It just runs natively on the phone now instead of in the app’s interpreter, so it finishes in under a second rather than the best part of a minute. Nothing about your data changes and there is nothing for you to do — sign in as usual and it will simply be quick.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-14

• Callbook speaks Spanish, and the App Store finally says so. Every screen has
been translated since the app launched, but the store page listed English only, because the
translations live in the app's own code rather than in the part of the binary Apple reads. This
release tells it. Nothing inside the app changes: set your iPhone to Spanish and Callbook opens in
Spanish, as it always has, and Settings still lets you choose either language whatever your phone
is set to.

### 1.2.9 — 2026-09-13

• The calendar, working this time. In 1.2.8 the button said it could not write to your calendar. It writes now: turn on Appointments on Calendar in Settings and an agreed date goes on your calendar with one tap. Callbook still cannot read it.
• The stopwatch, or the month, on your lock screen. A lock screen widget in the three small shapes: the running time while the stopwatch is going, and the month's hours when it is not. Add it from Customise on the lock screen.
• The stopwatch on your wrist. With watchOS 11, a running stopwatch shows in the Smart Stack of a paired Apple Watch, laid out for it. Nothing to install, and nothing new leaves your iPhone.
• An appointment on your calendar. Turn it on in Settings and an agreed date can go on your calendar with one tap. Callbook only writes — it can never read your calendar — and the event says only that you have a visit unless you name the person.
