## Most critical reviews (5 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — No audio

*2026-05-23, version 1.1*

Disappointing as the audio wouldn’t work but I guess it’s nice someone made the effort to try and make the app, the idea was good but frustrating to use.

### 2/5 — No sound.

*2019-08-01, version 1.1*

Very dated app. Sound does not work so you have to read the text (not a big issue but the app is meant to have sound).
Luckily there is good 4G in the area so you can down load on site.

### 3/5 — No Sound

*2025-11-19, version 1.1*

No sound would play for the app sadly

### 5/5 — A great bridge between archaeology and the public

*2016-03-03*

As I included in a report on Silchester, this is a great app. Although a little simplified in design, the graphics are fantastic. It offers insightful information, including how to get to the location. Uniting public knowledge and archaeological excavations, the app offers a wonderful walk around the Roman town. The recordings offer a great addition to the self-guided tour of the site. Great Job!

### 5/5 — Very informative

*2014-05-05, version 1.0.0*

This app was very useful giving us a map of the site as well as commentary. There is plenty of information (I would have appreciated more detail). The app knows where you are and bleeps when you get the next information point. The only downside to the app is that it doesn't know that you have heard the information and keeps bleeping.
