## What is Callie's Mahjong?

Callie's Mahjong is real American Mahjong, with the hands you actually play. No tile-matching. No solitaire. The game you know, on your iPhone and iPad.

THREE NEW TILE SETS

Sweets, by Winds and Wall Collective. Cupcakes, gumballs, ice cream and gummy bears, on a candy-shop plum table.

Cozy, by Winds and Wall Collective. Coffee, candles, books and armchairs, on a deep teal mat in sage green.

Zen, by Tales of Mahj. A sand mat and sage green, clean and uncluttered.

Each set brings its own theme and table felt, so a new set changes the whole table. Nine tile sets and thirteen themes in total.

NEW: THREE HOME SCREEN WIDGETS

Last Game shows how your most recent hand finished. Lifetime Stats shows your mahjongs, points and opponents beaten. Hands Completed shows how far through the printed card you are.

NEW: THE HANDS YOU WIN AT A REAL TABLE

Hands Completed now has a third column that's yours to fill in. Tap to record a hand you made at a real table, away from the app, and tap again to clear it. Your own record, alongside the two the app keeps for you. Share your stats, your last hand played and your progress against Callie any time.

PLAY WITH REAL PEOPLE

Up to four of you, each on your own device, calling and passing and exposing in real time, much like sitting around a table. Any seat nobody takes is played by the computer, so two friends and two computer players is a perfectly normal game. You never need a full four to start.

In the same room. Everyone joins the same Wi-Fi, one person hosts, and the others tap the table to join. No accounts, no internet, nothing to set up. Works on a kitchen table, in a clubhouse, or on a plane.

Anywhere else. Sign in to Game Center to invite a friend directly, or find other players who are online.

Interruptions are handled. Lose signal and your seat is held, with the same tiles and the same decision waiting. If someone leaves, a computer player takes the seat and the game carries on, even if the person who left was hosting.

THE FULL GAME, ON YOUR OWN

A complete four-player match any time, with no one else needed.

- The full NMJL card, 2025 or 2026, searchable while you play
- 32 computer opponents, each with their own way of playing, including Callie, the toughest of them
- Charleston, courtesy pass, jokers, exposures and calls, all by the book
- Blind passes, and the second Charleston when the table wants one
- Scoring that follows the card, hand by hand, with every hand shown at the end
- Three difficulty levels, from learning the flow to a genuinely hard game

NEW TO AMERICAN MAHJONG?

There's a guided tutorial that deals you a hand and plays it with you, one step at a time. The Charleston, what a joker is for, when to call, and how a hand is scored. You don't need to know the rules before you start.

MAKE IT YOURS

- Nine tile sets, three of them designed with independent Mahjong artists
- Thirteen themes and table colours to suit the room you're in
- Photograph your own NMJL card and keep it in the app, on iPhone and iPad
- Sort your hand your way, and it stays that way
- Built for VoiceOver, Dynamic Type and one-handed play

### 5/5 — Great App - especially for a newbie

*2026-09-06*

I’ve had so much fun playing Mahjong on Callie’s Mahjong. As a new player I downloaded several apps, and had annoyances with them all. I feel like I get a unique and challenging game each time, and I appreciate the ways I can customize for my play style. I also have to give a HUGE should out to their App Support - Phil ROCKS!

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2026-09-04*

The tiles on this app are so fun! I can’t wait to beat Callie.

### 5/5 — Finally! The one I have been looking for!

*2026-09-02*

I've tried just about every American mahjong app out there and kept deleting them. This one actually plays by NMJL rules the way my group does, Charleston and all. The tiles look right and the animations are just right, smooth without dragging out every turn. The opponents don't feel like they're cheating or asleep. First one I've kept on my phone past a week. LOVE IT!!

### 5/5 — Really simple and easy to enjoy

*2026-08-06*

I am really enjoying this app! It mimics mahjong gameplay well with the flow of the game, draw, and discards. It’s easy to sort through tiles and do joker exchanges. I also like the little rule reminders built through the gameplay.

### 2026.36.1 — 2026-09-07

NEW

-Citrus, a new premium tile set, with a matching Citrus theme and an orchard pattern across the table.
-A Game Stats screen with three tabs: Lifetime, Opponents, and Recent Games.
-Recent Games keeps your last ten finished games. Tap one to see it again or share it.
-A Game Center button on the Play With Friends screen, so your achievements and friends are one tap away.
-You can now share a hand from a multiplayer game, not just single player.
-Shared pictures say which mode and round the hand came from.

CHANGED

-The floating Game Center icon no longer drifts across the app. Game Center has its own button now.
-"View Last Game Results" on the main menu is now "Game Stats", and it is always available.
-The end of game summary and every Recent Games row show which card and round the hand used.
-A hand that finishes with no winner now reads "Wall Game" on the summary and on shared pictures.
-Player tiles on shared pictures are larger and easier to read.
-Text colors across every theme are now chosen against the table color, so nothing is hard to read.
-The reset prompt in Game Stats opens in the middle of the screen and has a Cancel button.

FIXED

-Choosing a tile set no longer leaves you on a theme that does not match it.
-A contested discard now goes to the correct seat in single player, matching the rules used everywhere else.
-Tapping Game Center while signed out now tells you where to sign in instead of doing nothing.
-Resetting your stats now clears the Recent Games list straight away.
-Returning from a past game takes you back to Game Stats rather than the main menu.
-A game in progress is no longer disturbed by looking at a past game.

As always, send your logs to support@calliesmahjong.com if you experience any issues.

### 2026.36 — 2026-09-06

“My Card“ fixed on iPad, three new home screen widgets, and a way to track the hands you have completed at a real table!

Adding a photo of your own NMJL card now works on iPad

On iPad, adding your own card simply didn't work. You could open the screen and accept the notice, and then nothing happened: no picker, no error, nothing. Even once that was fixed, tapping "Use Photo" after cropping quietly closed the screen without saving. (Thanks, Kathi!)

Both problems are now fixed. Choose a photo or a file, line up the corners, tap Use Photo, and your card is there.

Three home screen widgets

Add Callie's to your home screen. Last Game shows how your most recent hand finished. Lifetime Stats shows your mahjongs, points and opponents beaten. Hands Completed shows your progress through the printed card, and lets you pick the card year and which record you want counted.

Keep track of hands you won at a real table

Hands Completed now has a third column that's yours to fill in. Tap a hand to record one you made at a real table, away from the app, and tap again to clear it. It's your own record, kept alongside the two the app fills in for you.

Share your stats, your last hand played, and your progress beating Callie

Show off your results with a tap.

A tidier menu and Settings

"Completed Hands" is now on the main menu, and "How To Play" is now "Tutorial". In Settings, Hands Completed, View Stats and Achievements sit together under Stats, and your card settings sit together under Rule Card.
