I have to exit and reopen show to refresh comments. ### 4/5 — Awesome App - A Couple Requests *2022-10-02, version 2.9.7* October 1 — App is randomly closing mid session and when you reopen the app to resume play, it forgets where you left off. Total bummer. Excellent app, keeps getting better and better. 1. Would love to be able to control the volume outside of the app however. Only way to adjust the level is to return back to the app and then use the side buttons. Little annoying. 2. Scrubbing a timeline is very finicky and has trouble acknowledging touch sometimes to drag the play head to where you want. 3. Would be wonderful to have a option to choose what you get to see on the Home Screen of the app. 4. *This ones specific to Dexcom G6 users such as myself - but oddly enough when I’m streaming from my Callin app, it causes my Dexcom sensor to loose connection to my phone over Bluetooth. As soon as I finish using Callin and close the app, my sensor resumes connection to my phone again. No idea why. Def a Bluetooth issue though specifically caused by this app for some reason. **Developer response:** Hey there- thanks for taking the time to leave this review. We've noted your request for a Home Screen widget- make sure you stay up to date on the app to get all the latest updates and feature releases, as we really take user feedback to heart! ### 3/5 — Love the concept, fix a few problems *2022-09-23, version 2.9.5* I love the concept of this app. I don’t know how to describe the problems, except to say many times the call has significant connection problems, sound problems and timing problems. ### 3/5 — TURN OFF CELLULAR DATA IN SETTINGS! *2022-07-27, version 2.8.2* I’m sorry but this app is so flipping frustrating. First, a couple weeks ago I found out I was burning through my data plan because it’s always connecting, even when I thought I’d downloaded episodes from wifi. So I turned off cellular data to the app in settings to prevent that. Now? A good ten minutes before my run, I clicked download on a recent episode. 14 mins in, it stops, because IT NEVER DOWNLOADED. I try again when I get back to wifi, check Downloads to see if it’s there. NOPE. So this is essentially only a streaming app. It has NEVER downloaded when I thought it had, only used wifi or wasted cellular. So my message to developers, if they’re reading this: stop adding bells and whistles, and get the basics right. Fix this issue and stop costing people $15 surprises on their cell phone bills! **Developer response:** Hi, thanks for taking the time to share this feedback. That said, it is a bit slow, and the UI could be smoother. Also I sometimes encounter a glitch where the stream stops and I have to reload it. You shipped an update with problems that didn’t previously exist. It’s asking me to “check my Internet connection“ about every 30 seconds. My Internet connection is fine. The app can’t find my subscriptions. The app doesn’t work. It opens, sure. It functions only barely. It won’t even load my profile. iPhone XR, 15.4.1 **Developer response:** Thank you so much for leaving this review. Thank you! ### 3/5 — Great app, just needs some new features and tutorials *2022-04-03, version 2.5.2* This is a great app for people to simplify conferences and public talks. It’s somewhat like Discord. There are some features I would like to see. A big one would be a tutorial for people on mobile, please keep it simple and easy to understand for those who do not use technology much but would like an answer. The obvious being that they must allow permission to their microphone on mobile to be able to talk. The second being that they should keep in mind how they’re coming across to other listeners. Distance of microphones, background noise. The other features I would like to see is the ability to increase/decrease volume for different speakers. Some people have their mics closer or louder and it just becomes a chore to raise and lower volumes during each persons turn to speak. Also an indicator for episodes that have already been played would be useful. ### 2/5 — Lost in the setup *2021-12-26, version 2.0.3* Things started going downhill when I was prompted for a couple of BIO (?) inputs, then some kind of insistence {loop) on a picture hung me up totally. Am not currently a social app user and wanted to give this a try; was unable to dip my toes in the water. Will there be differing levels of KYC-type reveals depending on usage/role? No other app does this. ### 4/5 — Latest App Update *2021-11-27, version 2.0.0* Was really enjoying the app, but this latest update removed the option to export the audio. While sometimes its easier to edit on the app itself, other times I found it easier to export & edit on my other software before finally publishing it back on the app. Sad that they no longer have this feature available, but otherwise the app is very user friendly. **Developer response:** Thank you for this feedback. Took way to many tries just for my Nepali mobile to work. Then, screens load at snail pace, if at all. After that, nothing but errors. Okay, after a reboot and more tries on iOS 15, I got to greenwalds callin show and I was surprised there is no video. Audio is barely acceptable. You cannot use the App if you don’t provide a photo. Even if it’s not a photo of yourself, a photo will provide metadata. I won’t use the App until they remove the photo requirement. ### 1/5 — Complete crap - unable to launch a link to a meeting, yet another unwanted conference call app *2022-01-10, version 2.1.0* Just wanted to listen on a conference. After installing and signing up, the link kept launching in Twitter minibrowser and couldn't open the app from there. Couldn't paste the link into search bar to find it either. So the app can't find the conference I have a link to, and the link doesn't launch the app to join it. What's the point of YET ANOTHER conferencing app anyway? It's like every single person has another new app to install to join THEIR conference/meeting. Thanks for your time! ### 2/5 — Poor technical support *2023-09-18* I can't find any sort of help link to get to contact the staff about a problem with my account. There seems to be a Feedback link but I can't see any sign that that would receive a reply via email. Rumble has reported at the top of the developer page, which has no contact information, that they are acquiring call in. However I don't know of any email address at Rumble for help with Call-in. Rumble has good technical support that replies to people in email. I can't get control of my phone number to start a new account once I had to discontinue one and I'm having a lot of problems related to that. If you accidentally try to verify a phone number and discover that you used the wrong one of my several phone numbers, it still thinks you just created a new account even though you never finished creating it. It's really awful when you're trying to remember which of your phone number to used and you typed the wrong one and verify it then you never finish creating any kind of new account, the stupid software still thinks you have created one even though you didn't. I can't recover control of my phone numbers for this app to delete them to start over so I can't use this app and I'm going to have to delete it. and there's no way to get any help. So for Rumble to say Call-in provided a seamless experience is ridiculous. ### 2/5 — Constantly crashing😫 *2022-10-05, version 2.9.7* I finally came over to Callin, where the cool kids hangout and the app crashes every minute or so, no matter what! I used both of my newer model iPhones, tried on the last iOS 15, then 16.0, then updated to iOS 16.2, turned the Lock Screen off, and NOTHING allowed me to listen to just one single BJG episode. I’ve been trying to get through the first hour for about four hours now. Fix it, Jesus!😩 Please and thank you 😊🙏🏾 **Developer response:** Hi there! This should definitely not be happening. Thanks! ### 2/5 — Would love it but… *2022-10-03, version 2.9.7* I have had no issues with listening live, but I don’t get to listen live often. I usually listen to the episodes after they have gone live. I am not sure if the app stops randomly or if it just stops when the screen locks, but it happens every time I try to listen to an episode. I have to go back and open the app and hope it saved my place. Only to have to do it all over again. Wish I could give 5 stars cuz this is a great concept. ### 2/5 — Battery drain *2022-08-17, version 2.8.2* Love the content but the app causes the battery to drain quickly and my phone to get super hot while listening to live shows. ### 2/5 — Great idea… poorly executed *2022-05-12, version 2.7.1* I love the idea of talking to journalists I have been following for years. I got logged out of my account recently, and there is no way to log back in on mobile. That seems like something that should be included in any app instead of being forced to creat an new account and alias. ### 2/5 — Not intuitive, unnecessarily complicated, and clunky *2022-05-02, version 2.6.1* Half the time I try to download a podcast it fails. If I did manage to download it, it often requires that I have internet connection to play or access it, despite it having been downloaded. It just seems like a poor solution to various nonexistent problems. ### 2/5 — Bad Audio *2022-01-22, version 2.1.1* I use the app because some of my favorite writers host chats, but my god the audio is hot garbage. MASSIVE differences in volume levels between guests, weird garbley feedback that makes it really hard to listen to. So yea I like the talent but as of this writing, the audio is terrible. The UI could use some work as well, but mostly please fix the audio ### 2/5 — Can be a lot better *2022-01-11, version 2.1.0* Maybe I’m too used to apple podcasts. There’s a few things that annoy me. It should be simpler and easier to go to old shows of people you follow. Also, when you exit the app and go back to listening to a podcast, it doesn’t start where you left off. That’s annoying. Now anytime I pause a podcast, I have to take note of the time because when I come back to finish it, there’s a strong likelihood it won’t restart where I left off. Also, who thought it was a good idea for the app to immediately start playing a podcast on its own when I open the app? So dumb and annoying. **Developer response:** Hi there! I hope it becomes widely adopted. ### 5/5 — Callin is Addictive! *2022-11-03, version 2.10.1* The only issue I have with Callin is how much time I spend on the app listening and talking to some of my favorite thinkers. It has also been joyful to set up my own podcast after using other podcasting and radio apps to host my show. The interactive features make chatting with my audience so fun and this is my favorite site to conduct interviews. I love the free transcript that is generated from the conversations and the ability I have to quickly edit my shows and share them all over the internet. I did that, then updated my Callin app, and all seems to be working as intended. My email was answered promptly with the above recommendations and it worked! I am very impressed with the customer service. So far I was able to listen in (on a topic where I had nothing to contribute) and I’m excited to be able to participate as a caller in the near future. I now give the app and its support staff an enthusiastic 5 stars. (Original review) I love the interactive idea of this. But on my iPad - which is running the latest iOS and is supposedly compatible - the app crashes before I even get the audio. It gave lots of errors as I was setting it up, but now I’m trying to listen in on a call and it’s completely nonfunctional due to instantaneous crashes upon launch. **Developer response:** Hi there!
