### 4/5 — Elegant solution

*2026-01-29*

Update: recent update with a as lot of weird voices instead of normal coach voice. Lost a star. Bring back the good voice.

Still decent app. Amazing app, and so simple. It’s a perfect boxing workout. All you need is a pair of gloves and a bag. Or even nothing but this app for a shadow boxing workout.

I would love to see the option to add kicks.

### 4/5 — Nearly perfect

*2025-08-26*

App is functional and designed great. Only recommendation would be to add defensive call outs and body shots. Would make the app perfect.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2024-06-05*

Would be a little better if the voice over was a little louder. Even with voice boost I had to turn my music off to be able to hear clearly.

### 4/5 — Really good, simple app. Needs fixed for iOS 17

*2024-01-07*

This app is great. The UI is intuitive and makes sense. The only thing is voice boost is still broken on iOS 17 and that makes the app unusable if you listen to music while boxing. Other than that, fantastic app!

### 4/5 — Great Callout app

*2024-01-07, version 2.0.10*

Works really well expect for “voice boot” seems to distort heavily when this option is selected

### 4/5 — Good simple app

*2023-12-24*

I like this app due to the simplicity of it, but I do wish there was a way to create and save custom workouts with custom combos. For example, a workout that only uses straight punches, or just hooks. That would be a plus for this app.

### 4/5 — Bug with voice boost

*2023-10-31*

I just recently upgraded to the iPhone 15 pro, and prior to that I would have given it 5 stars. Currently there seems to be an issue when you enable Voice Boost in the 15 Pro. I didn’t have an issue on iPhone 12. Not sure if this will ever get fixed considering last update was 2 years ago. Also not sure if this bug was in the last 2 versions of iPhone.

I’m still using it, just have to really pay attention to the call out while listening to music.

**Developer response:** Hello, Voice Boost broke in the new version of iOS 17. It will be fixed as soon as possible.

### 4/5 — Great App

*2023-10-12, version 2.0.10*

Really enjoying it. The simplest and easiest app to use. Doesn’t ask for a subscription like 99% of the other apps. Totally worth the $2.99 pro upgrade.

My only request is could we have an option to change the sounds for the start and the end of rounds. Even if it’s something simple like a buzzer or even just a beep.

The bell sound is good, just quite loud compared to the call-outs and music, so it just gets a little irritating.

Cheers.

### 4/5 — Simple and effective!

*2023-07-04*

Great app…very easy to use and worth the modest price for the pro version. My only suggestion would be the ability to save certain combos to certain workouts rather than making them global. Not a huge deal to change them everytime but it would be a nice feature. 👍🏻👍🏻

### 5/5 — ❤️

*2022-10-17, version 2.0.10*

Can we add our own voice to call out combinations??

### 4/5 — Great App

*2022-04-06, version 2.0.10*

I really like the simplicity of this app and it’s a great workout. For me, two additional items would make it perfect:

1. The ability to save a selection of combos.
2. The ability to assign the saved selection of combos to either a workout, or preferably individual rounds within the workout (ex round 1: all jab combos, round 2: two punch combos, round 3: inside combos)

Just a thought...it’s a really nice app.

### 4/5 — Please add Body Shots

*2021-11-03*

Simple and effective app. I love it and use it multiple times a week. My only request is to add some numbers for body shots. I would recommend 7-8 being the body counterpart to 1-2, and 9-10 the counterpart to 3-4. This would make it 5 stars for me! Otherwise great app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — (Used to be a) Great App

*2023-12-29, version 2.0.10*

Edit: This used to be my favorite app, but the voice boost feature stopped working with the new iOS update and the app is now really hard to use with background music.

### 1/5 — It’s stopped working

*2023-12-04, version 2.0.10*

This used to be my go to app for training, it was superb but now it’s completely useless.
Instead of a voice calling out the shots, all I get is a static noise.
I’ll try and reinstall it but I’m incredibly frustrated and disappointed.
What a shame!!

### 2/5 — Voice?

*2026-01-31, version 2.0.11*

A change to the voice has made this app unusable.

### 2/5 — It's alright, needs work

*2023-10-30*

Firstly all the voice choices are either repeated or sound like garbage. The only good ones are Samantha and Ricki. The voice boost is just an ear rape and a joke, doesn't work.

### 2/5 — PLEASE FIX!

*2022-08-10, version 2.0.10*

My only complaint would be the bell sound at the start and between round and rest time. It’s way too loud when using headphones. If there was an option to lower its volume or mute the bell sound that would make it 100%. All in all great app.

### 3/5 — Pretty good

*2025-09-09*

This is a really good app. I love the custom combos. I feel like a boxing app should call out defense, movement and body shots so I’d love to see that and I’d be willing to pay a few extra bucks for that too. All in all this is great and worth the $2 pro price

### 3/5 — Pretty good

*2025-08-25*

Still earning the app and it's pretty good. It tends to choose some combos more than others even when turned down. I like to switch sp and orthodox but still end up using the left more. It kinda seems out of balance. Maybe it's just me. I would absolutely love to get defense call outs as well. It's still pretty good and worth the pro version. Just a little polish

### 3/5 — Where is the rest?

*2023-06-20*

Please add the ability to create custom callouts and prompts like, "slip", block, roll, step back, etc... and I will pay more than double for this app immediately. Otherwise, it's pretty unusable at this point.

Also, make it so that the callout numbers show up on your screen while they are being read out loud. That would be very helpful.

### 3/5 — Was working ...

*2020-10-22, version 2.0.8*

Great app until recently. Any combination changes I make to one workout makes the same change to all of the others. Please help

### 3/5 — Potential to be great.

*2020-09-03*

The idea that we can add in our own custom combinations to then be called out in our workout is AWESOME. However, it doesn’t work. I tried multiple times to enter my own custom combination sets and ran into a few different errors:

1. After entering the combination and confirming with the check mark, nothing showed up on the combo screen. (I restarted the app which seemed to fix this.
2. After entering the combination it would seemingly be put onto the combination screen but instead of showing “1-2-3” it was just black space, the numbers of the actual combo weren’t showing up so you didn’t know which combination you were turning on or off, or adjusting in frequency.
3. After I finally somehow got all my combos up, with 75% of them visible, after my workout, I opened the app, and they had all been erased.

Fix the custom combos and this app gets 5 stars.

**Developer response:** So sorry you are having these problems! Can you please let me know what kind of device and which version of iOS you are using? I’ve never seen this before and really want to fix it. Please contact me at zack@bartel.com

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Super solid

*2026-05-15*

The only issue I have is that the app seems to have its own favorite combos that it goes back to. I’ve added tons of my own and even turning the favorites down still gets them called pretty often. I just tweak it when I get tired of it but I love this app and paid for pro.

### 5/5 — Awesome app!

*2025-02-25*

I love this app. I’m a relative beginner and with repetitive training I am becoming much more efficient with my skills. I would like to see them add defensive skills like slipping etc

### 5/5 — Great App, Really Helps Learn the Combos

*2024-11-19*

I am a beginner and find this app quite helpful for practice. A wish list for potential future features includes: 1) Ability to see the called out combos displayed on the screen in addition to just hearing them. 2) Ability to add right/left slips and right/left rolls within combos. 3) Ability to tie a specific combo frequency chart to a particular named workout. 4) Ability to adjust bell volume (or even shut it off) relative to callout volume (that bell is loud). There’s nothing else I’ve found with the simplicity and usefulness of this app. I’m sure the market would support a decent price increase for more features!!! Again, great app, many thanks for your efforts!

### 5/5 — Great

*2024-11-13, version 2.0.11*

Great app. Minimalistic. It could be better to add evasion moves or let users upload their combos and get us vote the best ones

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-02-25, version 2.0.11*

This app is exactly what I wanted . Easy to use , flexible and great customization. Only comment is to add a few more good voices .

### 5/5 — Elegant solution

*2024-02-13*

Amazing app, and so simple. It’s a perfect boxing workout. All you need is a pair of gloves and a bag. Or even nothing but this app for a shadow boxing workout.

I would love to see the option to add kicks.

### 5/5 — My favorite boxing app

*2024-02-11*

This is my go to app for boxing at the gym. It’s not over complicated and I can easily personalize my workout and still listen to my music while using the app. The developer personally responded to emails and even followed up to let us know when bugs were fixed. I’d definitely recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Best shadow boxing app!

*2023-12-05*

I have been using this app for years and the full version is worth every penny. I am a boxing coach and still train very consistently myself as well and this is the only boxing app I use, specifically when Shadowboxing and wanting the challenge of quickly following along with random combinations. You can create your own favorite combinations and set the relative frequency of all the combinations available. You can even disable combinations you don’t think are practical. I can’t say enough good things about this app and at least when I paid for the full version it was less than $10 (not sure the current cost). If you want to simulate having a coach with you calling out combinations while you shadow box then I highly recommend this app!

### 5/5 — Great app - Please add slips, weaves, and step backs

*2023-09-06*

Bought pro because its a clean app with good functionality and a unique idea. Only thing missing is defense moves. Parrys and blocks would be cool but i think that slips and weaves are nessecary. Definitely worth just 2$ i hope they update it with defensive callouts.

### 5/5 — Great straight forward boxing app

*2023-01-12*

This is a great app and the paid version is well worth the modest price.

My only wish is to have some defense added to the list of moves like slips, blocks and ducks. My other wish is to be able to assign routines to rounds, i.e. round one is 1 for the first minute, 1-2 the second, 1-1-2 for the third.

But like I said, awesome app.
