A Dark theme would be very nice.

### 4/5 — needs update

*2024-11-06*

Callsign info needs upgrading

### 4/5 — One Request..

*2020-11-18*

It does what it’s meant to do and does it well. I would like to see the option to search by name as well.

### 4/5 — Dark Mode

*2019-11-11*

The basic information page is unusable in dark mode. All other pages are fine.

**Developer response:** Version 3.56 resolves the dark mode compatibility issue which occurred in the 3.55 release. This new update was released within 24 hours of the problem being identified.

### 5/5 — V. 3.50 OK !

This version very good.

### 5/5 — Radio aficionado

### 5/5 — Powerful Reference, Works Great, Free

*2018-08-10*

I went through every feature on my iPhone X this evening and everything worked great!

The app interfaces the popular QRZ resource and allows for quick access via icons on the bottom of the screen.

- Search for a call sign and receive name, location information including grid, license level, license expiration, etc.
- Select more icons to preview a photo, bio page, recent logbook entry (if used), etc.
- The history icon is very helpful for keeping track of previous lookups and you can swipe right to left on an entry to delete unwanted calls from the list.

I have a lot of ham apps and this is one of my favorite for on the go. Thank you Neil!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-05-17*

I installed this app and it was awesome until last night. Now no matter what call sign I put in it says not found I can go to history and click on one from there and it still says not found. Other than that it is a great app very handy when you’re mobile and want to look up a call sign quickly!

### 5/5 — Callsign Search is again VoiceOver compatible!

*2018-04-30*

I wrote to the developer of the app. Initially, VoiceOver was having difficulty reading some of the buttons on the bottom of the screen, and some other small accessibility issues. The programmer was extremely responsive to my request, and has completely fixed all VoiceOver accessibility issues! What a wonderful job was done by the app developer.

### 4/5 — Please add support for Apple Watch.

*2018-01-30*

Needs update for iPhone X

Please add support for Apple Watch.

This app needs to give its users the ability to log into their QRZ accounts without using a web browser inside an app. It also needs to allow users to add new contacts to their QRZ logbook.

### 5/5 — Great app for quick QRZ call sign searches

*2017-07-18*

The app works well on both the iPhone and iPad. It provides quick Call Sign look up as well as a quick link to the full QRZ web site. Great app support from Neil as well. He quickly resolved an issue I noticed with the app on the new iPad Pro 10.5". A must have app for all HAMs.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2016-12-26, version 3.20*

Very quick way to lookup a callsign. I really like the map feature that allows you to locate someone.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Logbook functionality not available

*2020-03-08*

The buttons for saving contact entries is grayed out. There is a sign in field hidden in one of the pages, but it doesn't appear to work. I signed in with my QRZ credentials but nothing happens.

**Developer response:** This app does not offer logbook functionality and does not advertise it as a feature. It includes a history page which shows the call sign and licensee name of your previous lookups. Selecting the globe icon In the app opens the QRZ.COM website in a browser window. Any functionality while in this window is provided directly by the website independent of this app.

### 1/5 — Crashes on iPad Pro

*2017-07-14, version 3.25*

Crashes when tapping in the call sign field to perform a lookup on my iPad Pro running iOS 10.

### 1/5 — Terrible Update

*2016-10-21, version 3.10*

It's one thing to have ads in the app which is cool.

It's quite another to have to sit for a couple seconds before being able to do a search! Rethink this strategy please or we will all delete the app and go straight to QRZ on our phones. Then you'll have no ad revenue at all!

### 1/5 — Ditch the advertisement

*2016-10-01, version 3.10*

Why did you put the advertisement in on opening...
What a waste if my time!!!

### 2/5 — Account login ?

*2025-09-17*

Unable to log into profile? It’s greyed out and I am unable to access account features.

### 2/5 — Dark mode

*2019-11-12*

Can’t see the information in dark mode in iOS. Like your app before this. Please adjust!

**Developer response:** Version 3.56 resolves the dark mode compatibility issue which occurred in the 3.55 release. This new update was released within 24 hours of the problem being identified.

### 2/5 — FIRST 3 LOWER OPTIONS NOT AVAILABLE

*2018-07-31*

I remember a few years back they used to work and unfortunately only the email to share qrz app and the browser buttons on the bottom work first 3 are grayed out and log in info are set as well in settings. Maybe another update due? All the best 73 -KN4ODV

**Developer response:** Those buttons are not available if the user’s personal information is not present in the QRZ site.

### 3/5 — Nearly useless in dark mode

*2019-11-11*

When using this app in dark mode, the search results screen is so dark it is barely readable. Please update this app to take advantage of current features.

**Developer response:** Version 3.56 resolves the dark mode compatibility issue which occurred in the 3.55 release. This new update was released within 24 hours of the problem being identified.

### 3/5 — Dark mode needs work

*2019-11-10*

The recent update is formatted better but it’s nearly impossible to read the screen in dark mode. Sorry, no obvious way to contact the developer.

**Developer response:** Version 3.56 resolves the dark mode compatibility issue which occurred in the 3.55 release. This new update was released within 24 hours of the problem being identified.

### 3/5 — Email visible

*2013-08-01, version 1.0*

Email is visible and could be harvested easy by spam bots. Nice app but this is hidden unless you login.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App - one suggestion !

*2025-07-18, version 3.56*

Really like using this ..great when working portable etc. Would it be possible to add a date/timestamp to the lookup log. This would be great so I can fill in my logbook later if I think there is a contact I want to save. Just date/time stamp - no other details required. Don’t want to turn the app into a logbook …just a reminder of whom worked. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Works well but updates would be welcome

*2024-12-30, version 3.56*

Properly integrating the QRZ logbook functionality into the iPhone app would be really helpful.

### 5/5 — Quick way to locate contacts and perfect way to locate fakes

*2023-12-25*

Hindsight is always 20/20. Sometimes you wish you’d asked where the QSO was from. This answers the question.

### 5/5 — Eccezionale

*2022-10-27, version 3.56*

App eccezionale la consiglio

### 5/5 — KW4R

*2021-11-21*

Thanks! Works great!

### 5/5 — Nice

*2021-01-16, version 3.56*

### 5/5 — Fairly basic but works well

*2020-10-20, version 3.56*

This app allows you to look up a QRZ page and display the results. Useful when you’re trying to check that the person is a genuine licenced amateur radio user.

### 5/5 — Great app...

*2020-07-26, version 3.56*

Just getting into Amateur Radio and so have just started my Foundation course. As I can only listen-in to the repeaters etc, this app allows me to check the hams callsigns, to see their QTH obviously. Thanks Neil....👍🏻

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2019-10-19*

I use this app all the time to look up call signs. It is fast and easy and makes me happy.

### 5/5 — Use QRZ daily

*2019-07-23, version 3.50*

This is an easy way to access QRZ.com on your smart phone. If you push the World button it has all the features of the website.
It has a mini logging feature so if you do an eyeball QSO you can write down their call.
Thanks! Neil. 😊
