### 3/5 — My students love it, it kicks in my OCD

*2018-08-28*

My students love this app, especially when then are starting to calm down or just starting to escalate. The sounds works if you turn on the volume on your phone. The only thing is the voice never says “all done” my students are okay with this, however it kicks in my OCD. I’m able to move past it and my students find it “funny” when I start mumbling about it not finishing the job.

### 1/5 — I cannot get it to open

*2013-05-29*

I bought this app and it has never once been able to open. Every time I try to open it, it crashes!

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2013-02-07*

App did very little, only had a counter that needed you to click on to move it on, and very basic and minimal text on screen.
Certainly did not justify the cost nor the space it took up on my device.

### 1/5 — Simple

*2013-01-29*

This app is too simple for being 3 dollars! Waste of money

### 1/5 — No Sound

*2012-12-28*

Would probably be great if the sound worked. Waste of money!!!

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2012-10-01*

Wow, after purchasing this app just to view it, I was frustrated enough to need a break or help with managing my "anger" (poor choice of words by the way... "upset" or "frustrated" might be better). Not user friendly. No menu to be found...content was too complex for most of my 6 yr old ASD clients.

### 1/5 — NO SOUND!

*2012-06-02*

I thought it would be a helpful app, but the sound does not work! It is a waste of money if it has no sound since my little one can't read and I was hopeful that "telling" how to calm down would be a great idea. I really want my money back, but the app maker has no contact info and I can't find how to get a refund from iTunes.

### 1/5 — Boss

*2012-01-03*

Not worth the money. It's a nice social story, but really, it's not much.

### 1/5 — Calm counter

*2011-11-01*

This APP CREATES MORE FRUSTRATION!. It simply does not work. It just shuts off. Terrible!

### 1/5 — Does not work!!!

*2011-10-26*

This app just shuts off as soon as you start using it!

butts crapper dingle fartley goober hooter puddin stinker

### 1/5 — Not worth even $2.99

*2023-06-16*

This app is literally two features you’re paying for. I can’t figure out why there’s a charge.

### 1/5 — It does not work

*2023-03-11*

This app has no audio.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2019-12-23*

The sound doesn’t work on my iPhone and the navigation is extremely poor. I wish there were a free trial before I wasted any money

### 1/5 — Don’t buy it

*2019-04-11*

$3 for an app that only counts backward from 10.

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

*2018-01-10*

This app doesn’t do everything it says it does. It literally only has an angry emoticon that changes to a happy emoticon if you tap it ten times.
The text isn’t read out loud so why you are able to choose whether the “voice” is male or female is a mystery. There is no voice. What a rip off.

### 1/5 — No Sound

*2017-09-17*

The sound doesn't work at all. Not acceptable for a paid app.

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

You could write this "app" in Xcode in 10 minutes. For anyone about to purchase this, you open it and see an upset face with text that reads "I need a break" - you tap it and the screen changes to a red angry face with the number 10. You tap and it says 10, then changes to 9, 8, etc and after 1 ends with "take a breath" - a inhale+exhale audio clip, followed by plain text that reads "ALL DONE"

As you progress from 10-1 the colours change from red to green and the face slowly changes to a smile. You can change the settings to use a male robotic sounding voice or a female robotic sounding voice or set it to silent. The child will have to tap the screen each time to change to the next page.... Try getting an autistic child to do that during a meltdown and I'll give you 3.99. The only use for this app is in a teaching about anger session but even that statement gives this app too much credit.

The time it takes you to find the iPad, start the iPad up if it's off, then find and open this application while your child is losing it, could be better spent taking them to a quiet area and giving them a hug.

This app would be worth it if it had an auto play function, the ability for parents to record their own voices or the child's (including a trim tool to edit out unwanted recording) a setting that auto plays the calm down routine as soon as you open it, an option to run some soothing music for quiet time afterwards of the parents choice from the iTunes library or presets, and maybe a refund.

😋

### 1/5 — Faulty app

*2015-10-05*

I hate paying for faulty apps and this one is full of glitches - mainly the 'calming' countdown clock races backwards. And with the iOS update it's even worse. Please fix- it's a good concept poorly implemented.

### 1/5 — Not happy

*2013-06-10*

Not happy. Not worth the money. Very disappointed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Brilliant app

*2015-06-04*

The story is ace, my son loves it! He did point out tho that the last page of the story say "from 10" but the text says "to 10". (He tells me every time he uses it!)
Unfortunately he has to already be calm down for the counter to be any use otherwise he chucks the iPad. But he knows when he's ready and asks for it now tho.

### 5/5 — a favorite!

*2014-09-22*

This app works great for us. I just updated and haven't had any issues with the updated version either. I have a student who actually requested this app by name when feeling upset. Nice, clear narration and simple, bright graphics. We love it.

### 5/5 — ms autism apps

*2012-02-25*

My son has autism, It is great to see him learning stratergies from this developer, they are so eyecatching and brilliant visuals, if you know someone with autism or special needs this companies apps are a must. Great work, watching this developer 10/10 . It is good to see apps that are really needed for everyday learning difficulties of autism. THANKYOU Touch Autism

### 5/5 — Tried this morning!

*2012-02-06*

Was so excited to get this! My son with autism was tantruming this morning because I would not let him bring one of his toys to school and I popped this puppy out and it worked like a charm!!! LOVE IT!!

### 5/5 — Great!

*2011-10-22*

I just downloaded this and showed it to my ASD kid. He has used it twice to self-calm and it's working very well. The social story is a nice touch!

### 4/5 — Great app - needs more breathing times though

*2012-11-04*

I love this app. I think it needs to have more breathing times though. The deep breaths definitely help with calming.

### 4/5 — Very useful app,

*2012-04-21*

My daughter (autistic age 7) finds this a great tool when she becomes cross, she can access it herself when needed and will count down with the icon and follow the instructions when it says deep breath at the end. It does have a calming effect on her and brings her back to a place where she can calmly express her annoyance rather than shouting the place down. She has also looked at the social story that comes with it by herself a few times and seems to like it. 4 stars because I think £1.99 is too pricey, its more of a 69p app.

### 4/5 — FANTASTIC BUT...

*2011-12-24*

it freezes periodically on the countdown when it matters the most - during a meltdown.

### 4/5 — helpful

*2011-11-15*

Good, my high functioning ASD child has little meltdowns and screaming episodes and he has used this and likes it he is counting backwards and breathing, learning word for word, I love the "I need a break" part.

### 4/5 — Calm counter

*2011-10-27*

It worked for us, my son paid attention to the social story as well as counting down.
