While I for the most part work alone, I was longing for something that I could listen to that would not be too distracting but calming at the same time. I found this app and it is perfect and offers a lot to choose from. I’m very grateful and I highly recommend it. Thanks for putting something together that offers a more enjoyable and peaceful experience through sound, no talking just peaceful and relaxing sound. ### 5/5 — BEST APP EVER *2023-04-06* I downloaded at ton of apps similar to this one, because I knew there would be some that i didn’t like and some/most (its s free trial) type of thing. During the week. I’am soooooooo busy… Working, Dr’s APPT, exercising, Im a very organized female. I’m into Self- Care. I workout 4-5 x’s a wk.on my Peloton bike, Reading bible scriptures, listening to my mentors, praying. My mornings start early abt 4AM- M-Fri- I live alone. My son who’s 19 lives with his dad. Life is abt BALANCE. I’am learning at the age of 48 to just simply do nothing & that’s ok. I work hard to give myself & Son a better life. Lord TY- for this app. It’s sooooooo relaxing & calming this is just what I needed for my mental health. Whoever invented this app- Thank You & God Bless. ### 5/5 — Just lovely *2022-12-04, version 3.3.3* A really easy to use app with a wide variety of sounds to choose from ❤️ ### 5/5 — Calm sounds *2022-06-20, version 3.2.0* I was very relieved to find this app as no free mindfulness apps now, & all you really need is calm sounds and breathing exercises which you can get free off YouTube and learn. Visualisation & calm sounds works for me so thank you calm sounds for providing this app!!!! ### 5/5 — Outstanding *2021-10-28* This app is amazing. There is nothing that you have to pay for. This app has really helped me with my anxiety. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — What’s with the porn?? *2026-01-17, version 3.3.4* I really liked this app. But the other night I turned it on. And at the bottom were small snap shots pictures of porn! Nude ladies with their legs spread…. and then some. So I deleted off my phone!! ### 1/5 — 👎🏿 *2023-10-01, version 3.3.3* Not enough to choose from ### 1/5 — Timing *2022-01-08, version 3.2.0* Why is this only ten minutes? No replay feature? No auto play, no help during stress if you have to keep turning it back on ### 1/5 — Only 2 hours *2020-10-08, version 3.0.1* You can't play sound longer than 2 hours. ### 2/5 — 10 Minutes Only *2025-05-10* OK This is the first “sounds” app I have tried. I picked a few that didn’t say “In App Purchases”. I guess I should’ve known that there’s a catch. The catches you can only play 10 minutes of any of the sounds. I sampled every one of the sounds and found only one or two that I liked and I didn’t like them enough to pay money for them. Maybe that’s the purpose of these free apps, to see if you like the sounds enough to purchase the non-free version. **Developer response:** Hi. Thanks for your review. There is a slider on the app to set how long to play a sound for. There is no limit on this and you can play forever. Also there is not a paid version for this app. I’m sorry you may not like all the sounds , that is always down to individual taste. ### 2/5 — Timer *2022-11-06, version 3.3.3* Sounds are great but you ant change the timer - it stays on 10 minutes. ### 2/5 — IT WAS (ad free) what happened? *2020-12-28, version 3.2.0* The only sound I listen to is the campfire sound which I love very much! When I first got this app it was ad free and now it is not I am sad! 😔 ### 3/5 — Need more sounds *2023-03-16, version 3.3.3* I use this app at work for noise in the office. The only selections I think are appropriate are the bird sounds. Maybe add wind chimes? ### 3/5 — Rain, wind *2022-05-23* Most of the sound r good but it is annoying & distracting when there is a significant decrease or stoppage in the sounds after awhile for me noticeable that wakes me up just as about to fall asleep. I think the thunder is the least annoying one. The Calm app was the best, Mayb get improvements from that. But thank you this remains free for us poor folks **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. I am working to improve the looping and quality of the sounds along with adding more. ### 4/5 — The sounds *2024-07-18* It randomly keeled stoping and it was annoying but other than that it was fine ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best relaxing sound…and its free! *2026-07-11* I siffer from generalized anxiety disorder and i find that listening to nature and water sounds help calm me down…and I find this wonderful free app🙏 ### 5/5 — 5 stars before even downloading *2026-01-08* Thank you for making an app to help with sleep that doesn’t have an ad running every 5 mins and doesn’t have in app purchases. I have a hard time sleeping but I can’t afford a Monthly subscription for ocean sounds to sleep by. It’s harder and harder to find resources like this one, and I appreciate the developer. I am getting ready to lay down and enjoy this blessing. ### 5/5 — calming sounds *2025-10-22* this app is so awesome it is so calming and i just love it and i just love no ads and no in app feature of credit cards i used it at night to help me to fall asleep this app is amazing i love it 5 stars for this app now if i would give it 10 stars then i would 5 stars is enough but i love it so much and i'm sure you guys too. ### 5/5 — I use this app, primarily ocean sounds most every night. *2025-07-31* There is another relaxation app I used to use ant other tried that are now totally commercialized. I really enjoy that Calming Sounds is exactly what it says it is. I set a timer for 65 to 70 minutes and listen to the ocean and I go to sleep. I appreciate the fact that it is not commercialized. The only night I don’t use it are the nights I’m listening to Pandora. Thank you I’ve tried others for a number of years and I’ve settled on yours! **Developer response:** Awesome. Glad you like it. ### 5/5 — Great App!! 🩷🩷 *2025-05-20, version 3.3.4* Love the app it has a lot of sounds.
