## What is CaloBite?

CaloBite is the calorie counter that understands plain language. Say what you ate, or photograph it, and the AI works out calories, protein, carbs and fat straight away. No database to search, no barcode to line up.

TYPE IT OR SNAP IT
Write "2 eggs with toast and butter" and it is logged. Or point the camera at the plate, the packet or the label, and add a note if the photo needs one. Every meal comes back broken down item by item, based on published nutrition data such as USDA FoodData Central.

MORE THAN CALORIES
Calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin D and vitamin B12, plus fibre, sugar, salt and saturated fat. Each one with a target that fits you. Tap any number to see which meals it came from. Nothing here is a mystery figure.

WATER, COFFEE AND SUPPLEMENTS
Log a drink and CaloBite offers to track fluid, with an optional caffeine budget. Soups and watery food count towards it too, the way total water intake is actually defined. Take creatine and it offers a daily target based on your weight. Set your own daily fluid target, and add reminders if you want them: as many or as few as you like, inside a window you choose, and silent whenever you are already ahead. Both features stay hidden until they are relevant, and both can be switched off.

HANDS FREE
Tell Siri what you ate and it goes into the log without the app opening. You hear straight away what the meal came to and how the day stands. Asking works the same way.

ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
Widgets for the home screen and the lock screen show what is left of today at a glance, without opening anything.

FAST THE SECOND TIME
Anything you have eaten before comes back as a suggestion while you type, with its numbers already known. Log it again with a long press, keep the ones you eat often as favourites, and none of it costs a new analysis or needs a connection.

GOALS THAT MAKE SENSE
Your calorie need is calculated with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, and every target says plainly whether it is a floor to reach or a budget to stay under. Weekly averages, because one day says very little on its own.

WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL
Entries are kept on your device and sync when you are back online. Your data comes with you through a reinstall.

YOUR WEIGHT, AS A TREND
Weighing is optional and off until you ask for it. Switch it on and CaloBite draws a smoothed line through your readings, because a single day is mostly water. No goal weight, no reminder and no streak: the line only answers up, down, or the same.

CALOBITE PREMIUM
The free version includes 10 analyses so you can see what it does. Premium lifts the free limit.

CaloBite is not a medical device. Every figure is an estimate, not a measurement, and the targets are general reference values from published public health guidance, not medical or dietary advice. Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before changing your diet or taking supplements, and in particular if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition, or take medication.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-08-17

The note on a photo can be typed again: a change meant to close the keyboard when you tap beside a field was also closing it when you tapped the field itself.

Your permission for the AI analysis now survives deleting and reinstalling the app, so a restored history no longer comes back with a warning attached. And where that permission is missing, there is a button to give it instead of directions to a switch.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-16

Log a meal by voice: tell Siri what you ate and it goes into the log without the app opening, with the calories and the day's total read back to you. Ask for the day's total the same way. The meals of a day now also sit in the order you ate them, so an afternoon snack no longer appears under an evening dinner.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-11

Before a meal is analysed, CaloBite now asks once: the description, and the photo if you take one, go to Google's Gemini. You can change your mind at any time in Settings.

Also new: a macro split you can choose (balanced, lower carb, lower fat, keto). Weight with a smoothed trend line, no reminders and no streak. History now says how many nutrient targets a day met. Trends show four metrics at once, each with its target line. And you can rule out nuts or fish, which changes the food suggestions.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-05-19
