## What is Calodin?

Calodin is a calorie tracking app that integrates with HealthKit. It is intended for people looking for an app with simple calorie tracking.

How to use the app:

- Set a target calorie count (the default is 2000, adjust as necessary)
- Add your favorite meals and their calorie amount
- Set up some reminders and be notified around mealtime
- Pick the meals you're having, or enter a custom amount of calories
- See throughout the day where you're at!

If you give permission to access Health app data, calories logged will also be logged via Health as "Dietary Energy".
Your calorie goal, consumed calories and food you've added to the app will be synced via iCloud.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.1 — 2025-09-16

- Updated for iOS 26 with a new icon and design, with various design tweaks everywhere.
- Widgets are now customizable: use an even darker black when Dark Mode is on.
- Added calorie entry and food selection on the History tab.
- Now compatible again with iOS 18 for those with older devices.

### 1.4 — 2025-09-15

- Updated for iOS 26 with a new icon and design, with various design tweaks everywhere.
- Widgets are now customizable: use an even darker black when Dark Mode is on.
- Added calorie entry and food selection on the History tab.

### 1.3.1 — 2025-08-08

- "Food" is now displayed as "Manage Food" to make it more obvious you're not logging food on that screen.
- Sorting by calories now sorts from low kcal to high kcal. If you're looking for a low-calorie option, you will now see those options first.
- Sorting by calories now correctly sorts based on the total calorie count on the "Choose Food" screen, same as on the "Manage Food" screen.

### 1.3 — 2025-07-28

- You can now keep track of portion sizes: you can describe a given portion size (e.g. 100 g) and easily change how many portions of a given food you intend on eating.
- The food list and food picker will display the portion size and how many portions you have configured per food.
- The method to input calorie amounts has been simplified when editing food and when modifying tracked calories.
- A widget has been added to display how many calories you have left for the rest of the day.
- If you visited the history screen the day prior, the active date will automatically tick over to the next day when you open the app after midnight, instead of remaining on the previous day.
- You will be prompted to confirm the removal of reminders instead of just removing reminders.

### 1.2 — 2025-04-15

This small update makes working with your favorite meals a little easier:

- When modifying existing meals, you can now choose to cancel your edits.
- The checkmark icon when editing foods has been replaced with a clear "Save" label.

A few bugs have been squashed, including an issue with the New Food screen resetting sometimes when you switch between apps. (This was a frustrating issue if you were looking up calorie amounts for certain meals in your browser and switching back to Calodin afterwards. No more!)
